lol true, and from what i've read you do prayers and stuff and get the answer through your dream!

they showed it wrong. istakhara is done by the person who is in dilema or he can ask a pious or buzurg person to do it on behalf of him , first one has to perform namaz then in his dreams allah shows a signal (a gud or bad one) so that the person can easily make his decision.

fyi.. if anyone wanted to know for further knowledge.. istakhara is done by only an elder who reads 5x prayer and quran..not by an "awara" lol

You are right.... i was also confused what Ekta showed... my cousin's mom did Istikara about her daughter's purposal and in her dream she saw fruits, Mithai(sweets) and that kind of things. so they accept the purposal and today she is very happy with her hubby. It works and I truly believe on that. But i never heard Ekta's kind of istikhara. Oh yeah dream doesn't always come on first night it can take few days.

yesh that's what I heard about Istikhara... Azaan is Pakistani he could've told Ekta the right way...

You don't necessarily have to get a dream. You simply feel at easy/get a direction after doing Isthikara.

As for getting it done by an outsider like a maulvi. Some ppl think only pious and older ppl can do it. So they prefer to get it done by them. On the show, the muslims on khwaish are different from most muslims. Since, they don't go to the mosque. Instead, they go to the durga. So, these muslims seem to believe in more spiritual side of Islam. That's why they got an outsider to do namaze isthikara instead of asking nasreen or salman to do it.

1) you read the istikhara dua
2) the answer may either come to you thru a dream or IT MAY NOT. IT DOESN'T ALWAYS HAVE TO BE A DREAM
3) the things either automatically turn in favor of or opposition to what you are thinking
4) from there you make out what allah (swt) wants.

i guss you are right... I think Indian muslims believe in more spiritual side of Islam. For exp. in Indain movies when ever they show muslim people they show them going to Durga's for prayers instead of mosque. Veer Zara is also a good example. But I believe on mosque rather than durag's or baba's mazar.
