Hello people..
Its been a week or so I have started watching Ishqbaaaz and as of now I am hooked to it...I came across this show while changing channel few days back when SSO was forcing Anika for marriage and since then watching old episodes in hotstar and current ones in TV.
I joined IF only because of IPK and that's the only Indian show I have ever watched and followed for decent number of months...all because of the show's cast and crew...she has an eye for casting right actors.
I remember bashing the lady behind that show and this show (Gul Khan) many a times during IPK because of many things(do not want to go in details) but I must appreciate her qualities of turning a normal show to a good and great show...by casting right actors and choosing the right crew.She knows who is best at what...
The reason I am making a post in IF after so many months(maybe after so many years) is Gul Khan.. no matter how bad Gul may be in many a things...she does knows the pulse of the viewers..she knows the story well...she knows how to be loved despite all the hatred from same sets of viewers...she knows to make a great team who always gives their best no matter what...I have hardly seen her team mates bashing her...its always the opposite infact...her actors/crews has always appreciated her...she knows the business well while keeping herself different be it be choosing actors or in writing.
As a viewer I may not like her much because of old things but its because of her I am again hooked to a show( after IPK) since a week(not sure how long it will continue).watching old episodes in hotstar..watching/reading the actor's and crew's interview to understand their POV.
Its a different story altogether when the execution fails many a times because of the external factors/budget/unavailability of sets and actors etc etc...which the current problem of this show is...
Talking about the show starting with the most common part of Gul's story(her USP and her comfort zone) a flaw,grey shaded male character(must appreciate Nakuul's acting) with a OTT female character and its surprising her every show though the premises remains the same the outcome is so different..Shivay-Anika is so different from Arnav-Khushi...Nakul Mehta's acting is so different than Arnav's acting though both are/were superb in their respective roles..
Honestly speaking I do not like the female character much(though Surbhi is great and justifying her character)...in short I am not a Shivika shipper or RuMya or Omkara-His romantic partner shipper...all these just work as a filler to me...I know that part will happen gradually..there is nothing unique in it..ofcourse leaving the acting of the actors.Its sad to see every damn show gets overshadowed by a romantic couple/their fans/their stories and they want only a love story...(it goes to the extent that in a recent Sabras interview Nakuul was mostly asked about Surbhi and Anika...come on there are other parts of the shows too...and moreover when its clear the actors didn't sign just for a love story )..thats the sad part of any Indian TV show which has a different start but end up being all the same..
To me the USP of this show because of which I am hooked tot his show is the story 3 brothers...I don't remember any show which has shown the bonding of 3 brothers(who are not own) so well...the brothers who are so different from each other yet so close.And all the 3 actors are so great in playing these characters and so real as if they are playing themselves.Their cooking scenes...their emotional scenes...their argument scenes where they are clear with their stands yet agree to disagree..their way of confronting faults in each other...they way they know everything about each other.
Until I watched their interviews I couldn't believe the 3 actors are so different in real from their characters...till now all 3 are awesome.Even the actors would not have asked for better.Great casting..!!
In other shows its the male lead who complements and completes the female lead and vice versa...here its the 3 brothers who fills each other's flaws and completes each other.And I appreciate Gul for making this...for atleast conceptualizing this amongst all saas bahu soaps ...though there are situations when its clearly visible the execution fails(like the recent scene where I think it was 3 brothers who were going to rescue Anika but due to the bad health of 2 they couldn't which was quite disappointing ) And I don't even know when will I get to see all 3 together again as 2 actors down with dengue and Nakuul will be unavailable post 31st for a week but still hoping to see all 3 again together.
Yes,just like always and any other shows which is quite obvious that there are/will be problems too in this shows ...execution is/will not as good as writing(may be because of budget issues and other real and practical issues which as a viewer we are not aware of).And in middle of all this the fandom gets divided and starts talking as if they own their favorite without even realizing that their favorites are not any fool..they knows whats best for them.
But I am waiting for the main plot of the show as shown in trailer "The Vanwaas" part...and I hope the makers do stick with the original story as shown in the promos and do not get away by just making it a romantic show.
After watching the few episodes I strongly feel it will be Rudra who will takeover the Oberoi industry and Shivaay will be leaving for Vanwaas.As Rudra is always shown as intelligent and logical like his Dad and Omkara sensitive and honest like his mother(so he will be stubborn not to join the business) and Shivaay like his grand father..one who thinks about his family and its name first.
Not to forget I loved the choreography of this show..These 3 actors are superb.They seem to really enjoy dancing .I was so impressed with their dancing that I went to search about their dancing and got to know Nakuul is a trained dancer and a winner of ballroom dance..No wonder he enjoys dancing which is quite visible on his face.
Last but not the least the character sketching of 3 brothers was done so well but just like any other shows down the line it is/will get butchered...but till the time it doesn't goes that bad I hope to continue watching this show.
As a viewer we can just wish not force the makers to show what we want..!!
