Hello people! I am sorry I disappeared without notice. Im planning to remain hidden until my semesters end which is 25th of January. I shall pass my turn until then and if possible/if the story would be still on, I'll resume writing after that. Sorry people! This story circle is probably the onlu reason I visit the forum it saddens me to be unable to post stories further until exams end. I'll try to come and read and keep myselff updated though. Good luck ladies!

Tej Singh Oberoi looked at the officer who sat opposite him. The ACP had arrogance and impertinence written across his face. Tej's eyes flicked in the direction of his daughter once and found to his utmost discomfort that Priyanka was busy looking at the officer. What was going on between these two?

He turned his gaze on the ACP once more and saw the man nod his head as if gesturing to her not to worry. Who did this stranger think he was that he had the audacity to tell his daughter not to worry?!

Trying to bottle down his fury, he looked at Priyanka more closely. The first thing that caught his eyes now was a reddish mark near her temple. What was that? Was Priyanka wearing sindoor?! He quickly glanced around to check that his mother was not around.

If Daadi found out that Priyanka was traipsing across the state with sindoor in her hair parting, she was sure to have an heart attack preceded by a lecture on the thousand and one magical properties of the vermilion streak. And while, in the light of the property that would come to him after his mother's death, a heart attack was a fair prospect, Tej Singh Oberoi quailed at the thought of having to sit through such a lecture. He cleared his throat and felt compelled to ask his daughter the reason behind the red streak on her head.

'Priyanka, why are you wearing sindoor, dear?' he said.

The annoying man sitting opposite him snorted at that while his daughter gave him a strange look. Her face had twisted into a grimace that looked far too close to a smile. Was she laughing at him?

Before Tej Singh Oberoi could say anything, Priyanka said, a little too quickly, 'It's a cut, Papa. I got hurt there and it bled a little.'

Relief settled into Tej Singh Oberoi's heart. A cut was nothing compared to the dangers of a streak of sindoor in a woman's hair. He took a sip of tea, almost forgetting that he still sat in the presence of that nosy busybody of an officer. His relief was short lived.

'If we are done fooling around, Mr Oberoi, I've something of importance I'd like to talk to you about.'

Fooling around? Him? Tej Singh Oberoi's eyes now resembled saucers and Priyanka was scared that her father would have an apoplectic fit.

Randhawa however continued without giving either of them a chance to speak.

'How long have you known Svetlana?'

Tej Singh Oberoi had just lifted the tea cup to his lips. At the mention of Svetlana's name, the liquid went into the wrong pipe and he began to choke and got quite red in the face. As his daughter thumped him on the back, he peered at the ACP. The fellow just sat there like they were discussing the weather.

'How does that matter, young man?' He finally managed to say once the coughing had stopped.

Pat came the reply. 'Let me worry about making the connections. Just answer my question.'

Tej fumbled before such calm confidence. He sneaked a look at his daughter. Priyanka positively bore a look of total adoration on her face now as she stared at the ACP. What was happening there?

'Well, I've known her for the past three years. Ever since she joined my company. But whatever happened between her and me--'

'Is public knowledge.'

Tej stared in amazement at the officer who not only had the audacity to ask him personal questions but also was interrupting him, like what he had to say was of no importance. However once more before he could voice his outrage, Randhawa had asked his next question.

'What is Svetlana's full name?' Randhawa asked.

Tej thought for a moment before replying, 'Chhabra. Yes. Her name is Svetlana Chhabra.'

OMG !!!! Am here atlast.. Twer. That was amazing. Svetlana Chhabra.. Waddan amazing twist. Cnt wait to know what would happen next

Bechaare Mr. Oberoi !! 🤣 🤣 On one hand he is angry because this young ACP has stepped into his busy schedule and on the hand he was worried with the "sindoor cut" And the consequences of his mother finding another Oberoi discreetly married ( if she perhaps by any chance finds out about Rumya's wedding) . And then her famous 'Sindoor and Ms lectures'. While here she not only would have ranted on Sindoor . It would be her being pissed off with Prinku not wearing a Mangalsutra and soon would have given one to the ACP to put it around her neck 😳 . Mr. Oberoi and family shocked and PriVeer rocked .
By the way, nice update Twerping! 👏. Thanks dear for updating. I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Oberon's confusion,anger and Ranveer's calm attitude 😊.
