It was a blood-curdling scream. He ran to her aid, his aloof self completely gone. He held her in his arms and kept saying "Priyanka are you? Did you have a nightmare? Did you see something?" Ranveer was a nervous wreck. His heart was beating super fast. Was he too harsh earlier?

"Priyanka! Priyanka!" he called out to her, she seemed completely shaken. She was breathing heavily. "I-I-saw s-something, Ranveer, I saw s-something" she kept saying, her eyes brimming with tears. She was wide-awake, her eyes filled with terror. He embraced her. It broke his heart to see her like this. "It's ok, there's nothing in here, it's ok, I am here, I won't let anything happen to you, I promise" he said in a soothing voice. He patted on her back and kept saying "it was a just an illusion, it's ok, I am right here. Now, go back to sleep." Priyanka cooled down. She felt, safe and warm. It's like two arms had embraced her, kept her in a safe cocoon. Why must she feel safe with Ranveer? Why is it someone she can never have? She dosed off. Completely unaware of the man at her side had just sighed in relief.

Ranveer put her on the bed and, put the covers back on her. He remained there, seated. There were a number of things going through his mind. Why did he feel someone caressing his face earlier before they left the room? Why couldn't he remember anything that had happened from the point when he ran to Priyanka's aid the first time she looked completely distraught? The chill he felt earlier? What about that? He knew he needed to get out as soon as he could. He made a mental note to tell Shinday to do a background check on this place. Was the creepy housekeep some kind of criminal hiding behind a false pretence? He could not believe the house was actually haunted. Why did he tell them to not to go to the North end? What about the constant feeling of being stared at? Was this place a hiding ground for criminals? Was anyone following them? The culprit behind his sister's accident maybe?

The sun rays fell on her beautiful face and caused her to stir. Priyanka yawned and got up. Her eyes fell on the sleeping figure at her feet. He looked so peaceful and innocent. The stress was gone. She found herself blushing, checking out a certain cop so sneakily. His usually combed hair was now disarray, covering his left eye. Her hands automatically moved, to push away the raven strands from his face. He stirred and she jumped, immediately moving her hand away from him.

He got up and turned towards her. The sunlight fell on her, giving her a golden glow - she looked ethereal. They stared at each other, minutes passing by - until Ranveer suddenly coughed. It broke their trance.

"Did you sleep alright Miss. Oberoi?" he asked, getting up. Priyanka nodded and said "I did", then she asked "how about you?" Ranveer shrugged and said "alright," a small smile drawing on his features.

"We should probably leave now, so that we can reach home early" he said and fixed his hair, pulling out a small comb from his pocket. "You're right," she said and continued, "I'll go change." Even in bright daylight, the place had a haunting aura. She wouldn't admit this but she was a bit scared to go to the washroom alone but she will ask Ranveer for help. No. She just can't.

She took her clothes now completely dry and headed towards the washroom. Even though the house was fairly small, it was indeed beautiful. Last night they couldn't tell, because it was completely dark. There were paintings on the wall, one of which caught her eyes - it was a man in his late twenties, she was going closer to get a clear view but Ranveer called out to her suddenly "Miss Oberoi?" she turned towards him, and saw him indicating at his watch, already freshened up - a sign that they needed to leave. She went inside the washroom, freshened up, and changed into the clothes she had when she came to the house. The duo then came to the area when they checked in. That's weird. The caretaker was nowhere to be seen. Ranveer called out but no one replied. "This is really odd," he thought. He then proceeded towards the table where the notepad was kept. It was blank. What on earth was the man scribbling down then? He put some money on the table and said "let's go."

The duo came out of the house. It was beautiful outside. You can tell that once the house used to be a very pretty one, unlike now. "We should probably ask if someone can help us" said Priyanka. The duo walked towards the road and saw an old man passing by. He was going to what seemed like the tea stall they went in last night. "Hey listen!" Ranveer called out to the man. The man looked up at the two, rather surprised. "Yes beta," said the man. "Do you know if we get a bus here?" he asked. "Why yes, but you have to walk for 2 miles, you'll see a little stall and the bus always stops there" the duo thanked the man and left.

Ranveer's phone rang. It was a call from Shinday. "Yes, Shinday" he replied. "Sir, we did a background check on the man you mentioned last night," Shinday said. "Yes?" Ranveer questioned. "Sir, our records show that he passed away 60 years ago."

I'll give you guys a hint: the house is ACTUALLY haunted. Ranveer was ACTUALLY possessed. However, Ranveer being Ranveer will never buy that. However, the pair of eyes? They may or may not belong to ghost 😉

Thank you Tahiti ! For such nice updates one after the other 😉 I was again angry because of having no scenes of PriVeer 😭 But you made my night get better. So it was actually haunted and man! Ranger was possessed? 😕
