Yesterday's episode was really a good one.
Dev's anger was more on Shaan rather than Rajni. When he said, "Jisne tumhe create kiya, woh tumse nafrat karta hai aur uska pura parivaar bhi." Dev is proving to be a very caring brother. When Amrish asks Rajni to return for uniting Kant family, his rebuttal made me go,Yes Dev finally someone is really thinking of Rajni without any ulterior motives. Also when RAM says, "Yeh aapka bhai nahi hai, agar hote toh aisa nahi karte." Dev immediately chided him that even he doesn't want them to go, but if his MoBo wants to go, he can't stop her either.
There were also a few nuances that Dev still considers himself part of Kant family. He started calling Papaji or Bauji since he got married to Shogata. Now he is divorced yet he keeps calling him Bauji and Amrish also didn't tell him otherwise.
The best part was when Dev spoke like his old self. While I love his sophisticated attitude and swag as Mr.D-Bang, the essence of Dev was when he had no crosses to bear. When RAM hit him with things, I can't help but be reminded of the times, Shaan would take his anger out on him for some mess they both created. It was all in the voice modulation, actually. When he told Rajni, he is busy and wouldn't be able to maintain her, he was Mr.Bangdu. But soon after, "Kya kare, Rajni. Ab koi chal bhi nahi sakta na", it was back to Dev-Bhukkad-Bangdu.
While Dev might be angry at Shaan, he still condemns RAM when he calls Shaan "Khadoos uncle". His reply "Woh khadoos uncle logically tere papa hain". I might have expected such dialogue from Rajni, but ironically, she told RAM Amrish is his Dada but never corrected him about Shaan. No problem, Dev does it for her. Again, when RAM throws his tantrum, we are treated to a glimpse of old Dev.
I feel, Dev sees Shaan in RAM, even though they are not biologically related. If we think back, only two people always chased Dev down like that - Shogata and Shaan. Now when RAM is in the house, things are getting interesting.
