It's not necessarily that she was bad but you chose to perceive her performance as such. If you begin something with a prejudice don't be surprise not to like it as an outcome.

It goes over my head that you can state that Sonam was bad and that you didn't see the movie at the same time. Fairy you.

I don't get this.. Is Sonam competing with Shabana or Jim fr the awards? R they in the same category? They were fantastic In their roles ..so was Sonam in HER role..them being good doesn't make Sonam AVERAGE.

Compare her with Alia, Anushka, Radhika, Vidhya..its fair..they r the ones competing this year..And not always does the deserving person win..

Since there r tons of award shows.. hope all win something somewhere just so that everyone on IF is satisfied

IMO, Neerja worked not because of Sonam's 'great' acting but because people connected the with the woman it was based off of. Sonam's acting was mediocre at best, better than her other films but still nothing to write home about.

Alia's character in UP was something that touched you. That girl has a spark that Sonam has never shown in any of her films.

If the nonsense logic of last year is anything to go by it shouldn't have been Alia who won and I loved loved loved Sonam as Neerja. She was wonderful in every frame of it

You know, the fact that SO many think Alia deserved the award makes it plausible. It's not like Alia goes and tells even forum members to fight for her cause!

Thing is..sonam played an air hostess but doesn't veer off from her actual self..she has always played these middle class ki ladki roles and she had to show fear here..

Everyone has known fear.

Now Alia had go undergo total transformation AND act and persuade people they are not watching Alia Bhatt. Seems like she did just that.

Maybe sonam will win other awards.

After all, kangana didn't exactly sweep all the awards last year, right? Inspite of playing ditzy innocent girl in Queen..and two different characters in TWM 2 with aplomb and ruling the box office.
