Chapter 25
Dissipatas Vinculis
Living through the memories of the good times, you fail to comprehend the sudden changes. So many emotions, so many choices turn out to be deceiving, but in the end, is seeing always believing?
**
The journey was never going to be easy.
The destination wasn't decided.
The gravel was turning out to be filled with so many obstacles, but she wasn't going to give up so easily.
The curtains of lies that had been drawn on her life had their end coming for sure.
No matter what was going to be the end of this tug of war, but there was no way she was losing it.
Not this time.
She continued pondering about a lot of things all at the same time, being defensive about every word that rang in her mind, when she heard the chirping of the birds outside the window and realized it was already morning.
'Did I even fall asleep?''
'When?''
It was tough to garner any verdict on that. She couldn't conclude that was she really taken over by the dark abyss when she had lost track of all the thoughts last night?
She got up slowly from her resting form, leaning her head against the bed's headboard while the exasperation never abandoned her face.
Only the sound of the birds suggested the night was finally over, though the sky still remained covered with the clouds. Verman Hills, and its prototype darkness, she thought, with a frown.
Khushi didn't realize how deeply her thoughts had engulfed her that she had paid no attention and had no idea as to how the entire night passed by.
It was as if last night was barely there, hardly happened.
And somehow, she wasn't sorry about it. It had a silver lining too, didn't it?
.
.
The vulnerability hadn't bereft her as she stared at the scenery outside the window.
The vague sight of all that was nature among the fog and the darkness that blanketed the small town.
Though by the morning she had managed to recollect herself but unfortunately the amount of strength was only too meagre compared to the damage done which was beyond repair.
.
.
The cold suddenly made her feel its strong essence, and she clutched the blanket closer to her chest as she breathed softly, the silent morning somehow making her feel relaxed.
A strange sense of guilt spread over her after a while, her conscience questioning her time and again as she recalled the little encounter that took place between her and Mason the previous day.
.
Was she angry on him?
..Was she angry on herself?
She hardly had any answer to that.
She wasn't angry with any one.
But just with destiny, which had brought her under the roof of impossibilities.
Where every good turned into bad, every truth became a lie, every happiness turned into sorrow.
Or maybe it wasn't her call to make in the first place.
Maybe, she was anyway devoid of making any choice.
Perhaps, it was life and destiny both, that were angry on her.
.
.
Her fingers trailed over the bedside table as she picked up her cell phone in her hand.
No calls.
No texts.
Was she even expecting any call?
His call?
That pronoun didn't make sense anymore, as she carelessly tossed the phone on one side of her bed, suddenly uninterested, and agitated.
'The Devil's name shouldn't be in my thoughts, let alone my life.''
She muttered to herself angrily.
The broken ties were meant to remain broken, because there was no way one could fix it after all.
But why didn't her primal human emotions leave her alone, when everything else in the world did?
Why was she so prone to only those things that brought her under the scanner of futility?
Why was she always a victim to that feigning affection, when none of it was actually true?
She sighed.
Some things can never be answered.
.
.
Yesterday was all gone.
The dance performance, the merriness, the smiles.
Then what was she left with?
She didn't want to answer that, either as she found herself hardly with anything that she could count on.
How better it would have been if things were otherwise?
Maybe boring, but not disheartening.
But it was too late to even try about mending things which weren't in her hands at all.
Had they been, she would have done anything to drift away from this excruciating pain that now took over her entire being wholly.
Brushing away the strands of hair from her face, she once again picked up her cell phone, her fingers fighting their own battle whether they wanted to do what her mind suggested them to do.
Thinking for a while, she switched it off as she finally gave away the idea of calling Mase.
After what happened, she didn't want to face him.
Or maybe she couldn't muster up any courage to face him.
She had tried relentlessly to go on the track of blame game, but she knew that it was pointless. She had known that Mason had harboured feelings for her, heaven knows since when, and so what he did was his natural instinct to do, seeing her in such a frail state. It was her, who should have backed away, but she was not in a right state of mind. She was devastated, she was in a haze, and she was not being sensible, but what she did know from the bottom of her heart was that she had regained herself before losing it so bad, that it couldn't be fixed.
And at the end of the day, at least she was happy about that.
.
.
Her tears had all dried after those battling thoughts which kept floating in her mind the previous day. But the residue was left behind in the form of those redness that had taken over her face, visibly prominent against the otherwise pale white complexion of her skin.
.
.
Call her crazy, but today she considered there was something much more important than her life per se.
It was the lives of people she loved and cared about.
She had vested so much time in the world barely known to her, that she had almost outrun the world which was always her own, which comprised only of her little family and best friends.
.
Not wasting any minute, she paced inside the washroom, freshening up quickly and finally grabbed the giant book from the shelf that she had left half-read last night.
If she was alone in all this, be it.
She was not going to sulk over her losses and reel under the impact of betrayal.
She was strong enough to do all she could, and so she would, to save her family and everyone innocent.
Yesterday, her mind had ditched her, as every time she had tried to concentrate on the most pivotal thing in her life, those baffling thoughts had intervened her sole purpose marking the privilege of their dominance.
But today, she had to fight back with all those voices in her head, which wouldn't let her be.
Because if Aloysius and Alexandra were here, it was because of her.
Because of that ornament that currently rested on her wrist.
And that only meant a threat, not only to her, but also every one close to her.
How could she ignore such a crucial aspect and just dwell in a reign of her own sorrows, her own tragedy?
If she was destined for this flagship of a warrior then she was going to take it that way, without a question.
No matter who was on her side, and who were the contenders, but in the end, it was going to be a battle where she had to fight, be it alone or otherwise.
And when the battlefield was already visible to her, then how could she back off?
.
She flipped through the pages of the book, trying hard to concentrate on every new spell which had thousands of lore behind them, and not just that, as told to her by Ralph Sciarrone, Amelia had a varied range of ways a single spell could be done, and so the complexity was all the more for Khushi to learn.
But deep down inside, she knew that if she could master these now, she would most certainly excel in excellence when the time came to fight for real.
Those Latin phrases slowly began to make sense to her, as with every passing second her mind began to grip those words which seemed so foreign to her days ago.
Because now, she had no baggage.
No fear.
Only determination.
To save the ones she loved.
And end the ones responsible for putting her and others like her in jeopardy.
.
.
She never thought she would end up reading this book, but she was only more than thankful regarding one thing that it helped her solve that peculiar question that she had in her mind ever since she had learnt the hard truth of her life, about Witchcraft.
The elusive equation which often bothered her, whether Jazz was also supposed to be entitled to this legacy?
She was blood related to her after all.
Jasmine was also a Vermount.
The fear had always occupied her mind that what was her little sister's future going to hold for her if she was also destined to be a part of this?
But to her relief she had only come across the fact that according to the legend, it was only the first born that was entitled to carry forward the legacy of Witchcraft in the family.
The first born of each generation.
Khushi's worry had instantly subsided as she thanked her stars for sparing her little sister.
The girl never deserved any of this.
She only deserved happiness and peace.
And for Khushi, even if she was doomed in this life, she was going to find a silver lining in that, and according to her, she had already found it. It was the purpose of defeating the demonic entities and letting peace prevail.
It was impossible on her part though to have reacted this way, when it came to Jasmine, for they had only fought for every little thing, be it small or big, but today she was just happy about one thing that she wasn't going to be a part in this and there was no way she would let anyone she loved get involved in this.
.
She just wished everything else too turned fine, like it used to be once.
But no, it would be just nothing but lying to herself if she even believed everything was going to be fine.
Before her thoughts once again began to take a toll on her, she diverted her attention solely to the book as within minutes she found herself deeply engrossed in learning the new spells, which only made her feel strong, as if a radical gush of newfound energy was constantly emanating through her veins with each passing second.
*
"Hey sweetie, look who's here to meet you."
Her mom's cheerful voice almost broke Khushi's concentration as she lifted her head up to see her standing at the door step of her room with a smile.
She didn't even realize how many hours had passed and it was already 10.00 am in the morning.
Quickly pushing the book inside the duvet, Khushi fixed herself straight as she reciprocated the smile to her mother and saw Ree entering her room.
.
"Hey, how are you now?"
Rebecca asked as she sat on the couch while Adrienne left the two of them alone in the room to talk.
"Better."
Khushi replied softly.
.
"Mason told me this morning when I called that you weren't well and that's why you couldn't make it for the event last night.. I'm really worry Khushi, I didn't know, else I would have-"
"It's okay Ree. Doesn't matter. I wasn't really in a condition to perform last night. I..uh.. I was really feeling sick."
Khushi replied, her voice still slightly quivering due to those endless hours in agony since yesterday.
"You really look so pale babe. You should take rest, seriously."
Khushi nodded obediently as she heard Ree's words while the latter continued,
"And don't worry about college. I had already managed it by telling Mr. Waylon that you had an emergency and it couldn't be neglected. Though I didn't know about your real condition that moment, but now it turns out that my excuse wasn't a lie after all, eh?"
She winked at Khushi smiling her effervescent smile while a faint smile tugged at the corner of Khushi's lips too, hearing her.
"And oh, the salsa performance was replaced by the backup act we had prepared with Johann and that tall girl, umm, what was her name? .. Umm, yeah Cindy."
She added.
"Thanks Ree. Thanks a lot for saving me from the glares which I would have got if you hadn't managed this thing by yourself."
Khushi averred, while they both smiled at each other.
But the smile slowly faded away from Khushi's lips as she heard Ree speak further,
"No problem sweets. Don't mention it. By the way, why didn't Arnav make it either? You know at first I thought perhaps something was really wrong with you but later when I found that you and ASR, both were absent from the scene I thought you both were doing this purposely and it really irked me.. I lied to the organizers only for you that you weren't well though later Mase said you were alone at home and blah blah blah.."
Rebecca's words trapped her into a parody of her own life.
What did she mean by all this?
"..You mean Ar, Arnav wasn't there at all yesterday? During the event?"
Khushi asked her with a bewildered expression.
.
.
"Oh Come on babe. As if you won't know!"
Rebecca replied casually completely oblivious to the impact this latest discovery was having on Khushi.
Where was he if he didn't make it to the event?
Was he guilty about the fact that she knew his game now and that he was caught?
Or was there some other angle to this story?
After all it had been two days since she witnessed the truth, which technically he didn't notice, and neither did he react, so..
What was it?
Was he safe?
The concern in the back of her mind trapped her in a dreaded spiral of confusion as she failed to fight with this new dilemma.
.
It doesn't matter
Not anymore
Her brain alerted her, though she wanted it to fade away and go back to being herself, but for what ever happened and whatever was happening, she couldn't help but feel clouded with everything around.
She would also be called a sinner, if she dared to think of even a glimpse of that sinister.
But was he one?
"Hello? Knock Knock? Earth calling, Khushi baby!"
Ree's voice broke her trance as she looked at her waiting face and replied,
"Well, actually we are not really hitting it off well lately, you know. Arnav and I."
Khushi said in a lowered voice.
She could see Rebecca's brows furrowing at that statement as she asked her with a concerned tone,
"Oh Sweetie.. I hope it isn't anything serious. Are you fine?"
"Yea..Yeah, I'm.. I'm fine. Don't worry. Just a casual thing, will get back to normal.. soon."
She replied, plastering a fake smile on her face though she herself didn't know why in the name of hell did she put a stress on that last word, when she knew very well nothing was getting back to normal again.
Rebecca smiled back at her as she began combing her hair standing at the dressing table, being the usual self obsessed Ree, making Khushi softly giggle in return.
Her giggles reduced as she found her mind questioning her once again, whether it was a good time to ask Rebecca about Kevin, but something in her said it wasn't right until she found out the truth herself.
She didn't want to be the blemish in her best friend's happiness until she had gotten her own facts right.
.
.
"So what say? Let's go to the mall? Do some shopping. Eat smoothies. Go bowling?"
Rebecca asked her, pausing after mentioning every activity but the essence of enthusiasm no way leaving her dialect.
"Seriously Ree? Shopping? Like, now? Drop it."
Khushi replied, startled with the fact that this girl was never tired of hanging out and going shopping, no matter what.
.
.
"Come on! Don't be such a lazy head. You look like an ugly duckling, sticking to your bed all day long. It's a forewarning Khushi, get up before the bed gulps you in."
She threw a cushion at Khushi, as she animatedly said the words making Khushi chuckle as a result.
.
.
"Let's not waste any time now. Get ready and let's leave. We can call Mason also, we can catch up and have lunch together?"
Khushi's face dropped abruptly as she listened to her suggestion, while Ree stared at her, bemused.
Khushi had absolutely no idea where this had got her in.
Whenever Mason's name came, she just couldn't help the apprehension that took over her and she found herself caged in an unusual predicament, bringing back unwanted flashes from the previous night.
.
"Oh god, don't tell me you and Mason fought again?"
Ree asked, the smile on her face now replaced by a pout.
Khushi bit her lips as she slightly nodded her head in affirmation and Ree now came forth and sat on the bed, the pout still so prominent on her lips.
"Urgh.. You two will always gatecrash my super-duper plans with your beyond-normal-people's understanding fights!"
Her use of words made Khushi grin suddenly, while she asked her a rhetorical question in return,
"I'm way too cantankerous, ain't I?"
"Yeah tell me about it."
Ree replied instantly feigning anger in her tone.
"Ree!!"
Khushi exclaimed, as a mock anger took over her face and she hit her with her pillow while Rebecca gave her an evil grin before saying,
"No, Khushi. Not at all. You are a sweetheart. Trust me."
She smiled at her, all the mocking expressions now gone as they both silently rejoiced the little BFF bonding time they got.
.
.
"It's okay. Then just you and me. Let's go for lunch today, all right?"
Rebecca proposed, while Khushi immediately nodded her head in approval and the two best friends hugged each other sitting on the bed like little school girls, minus the pigtails.
At least, even if it was for some mere seconds, Khushi felt someone was there who wasn't camouflaged. Not even a bit.
Who wasn't masqueraded, like everyone else had been.
Giving her a bright smile, Khushi got up from the bed as they both made their way downstairs and sat at the dining table to have their breakfast, as they made their plans for the noon.

The light from the lamps threw elongated shadows of the trees outside on the walls of her room, as she stirred in her sleep, the night taking over its quintessential form once again.
No matter how exhilarating she pretended the noon was, there was no denial to that real self when it was the night and the darkness all over again.
She was turning out to be her own worst enemy as she couldn't resist herself from that inner conflict which kept the slumber far, far away from her.
She shut her eyes tightly hoping for the silence to end, ready to accept any nightmare, any dream but this agony to end somehow, but the more she tried, the more those thoughts kept gnawing her from inside.
His face wouldn't let her sleep, as she continued to try putting her restlessness at bay, but to no avail.
No matter how she hard she wanted to control that turmoil, the thoughts increased at their earnest, defeating her miserably.
Agitated, she rashly threw the duvet off her body with alacrity, only to be shocked by the silhouette that stood in front of her, making her heart skip a beat dangerously.
.
.
She could feel her heart at the back of her throat, as her eyes refused to blink and that dark figure stood in front of her motionless.
Was this another facade?
Some illusion?
It was her mind's turn to betray her this time as she watched this figure come closer towards her and finally reveal that familiar visage to her.
The same physique..
The pale skin..
The chiselled features..
The same scent..
The same pair of dark brown orbs.
.
.
Khushi felt the time freezing as she lost herself completely, looking at him, her conscience threatening her over the fact which was true and what wasn't, but she didn't seem to bother anymore.
If this was a threat, she would be threatened, if it wasn't, then she would get to know everything for real, finally.
.
.
As she noticed keenly, there was a striking observation which made her narrow her eyes and question her heart..
Why did he look so weak?
So broken?
.
She swallowed the lump in her throat as she left her bed and stood away from him, leaving a fair distance between the two of them, this time deliberately so.
.
.
Was he fine?
Why was it so difficult for her to utter those words, when all she needed to do was simply ask him.
It was as easy as breathing, then why couldn't her mouth comply with her heart?
.
'She's just a bait.'
The words resurfaced in her mind as she felt herself die a little more from inside, staring into his eyes seeking for an answer but all she came across was haze, and nothing else.
.
.
"Khushi"
That husky but feeble voice of his made her weak once again as she tried hard not to lose her strength this time and not fall prey to that facade once more.
Her fingers clenched into fists as she saw him slowly approach her when she held her hand outstretched, her palm facing him and she shouted on the top of her voice,
"STOP! RIGHT THERE!"
There was conviction in her voice. So much, that for a second even she was scared of her own self.
He stopped then and there, his face blank, showing no expression but his eyes conveyed a million emotions to her while her hand still remained like that, her powers acting as a barrier from letting him come any closer.
.
.
"Khushi, listen to me.."
He tried once again, breaking free from her spell when she held her other hand outstretched the same way, blocking his trajectory once again, her mind clouded by only one sentence-
'Stay away from me''
.
.
He didn't make any move as they stood there still, in the same position when suddenly she was able to hear something.
Her eyes grew wide as the ticks of the clock became way too prominent in the deafening silence of the room and it was only then that she realized that what she was hearing was not just something, but his thoughts.
Yes.
Arnav Sciarrone Ray, undid his shielding spell, and let her read his thoughts, for the first time ever.
For what?
She was yet to know.
.
'You don't need to do this Sunshine. You don't have to use your powers to block me. If you don't want me, I will leave.. forever..'
His thoughts now came to her loud and clear, while she struggled with her heart to not believe those words again.
.
'You know I love you.. Please for once, listen to me. Just once. I ask of nothing else.'
His thoughts made their way to her once again, as she found herself breaking with every passing second, and slowly withdrew her outstretched hands, putting an end to that spell that she had cast to keep him away from coming close to her.
Though her powers didn't block him anymore now, he still didn't move or take a step at all but just stood there staring into her eyes, his thoughts conveying every single feeling of his.
'Please hear me out..Just once'
.
"No"
Khushi answered harshly, loud enough for him to hear.
"I don't trust you anymore. Not after what you did I-"
She couldn't complete her sentence as within a fraction of second Arnav bridged the gap between them in no time and pinned her to the wall, his hands holding her wrists tightly as he kept them on either sides of her, blocking her from making any move, their bodies almost touching each other.
.
.
"I DIDN'T do ANYTHING, KHUSHI. FOR ONCE, HEAR ME OUT. PLEASE!"
He gritted through his teeth with desperation and rage, the same rage she had seen on the first day she met him.
If she wanted, she could have evaded this situation right now by using the gifted powers she had in her, but for some unknown reason she didn't even try.
Staring into his dark brown eyes, she saw that rage mixed with an usual essence of worry and an indefinable urge to prove his innocence to her.
Khushi wriggled under his grip as her eyes continued to meet his heated gaze and she tried to get away from him but he didn't budge an inch to let go of her.
She couldn't help the fresh warm tears cascading down her cheeks as she watched him getting close to her while her heart raced unevenly, completely unaware of what was coming next.
He looked pale, and weak. She noticed that more closely now, and the sight somehow panged her heart.
He brought his face closer to hers as she felt his hot breath fanning over her skin when he whispered against her ear,
"..It wasn't me Khushi.."
Her eyes grew wide in shock at that revelation and she felt a strange sense of fear taking over her when suddenly he hugged her closer to his chest and in the blink of an eye, they weren't in her room anymore.
.
.
.
The tall dark trees..
The dense clouds dominating the night sky..
The cold breeze..
The very same precipice..
The ocean..
It was the same dark forest all over again.
The same place, the same weather, the same ambiance, where..
Where they had confessed their love for each other during that dawn break.
.
.
The moment was frozen right there as he held her hand and slowly brought it to his chest, placing it on his heart while she inquisitively looked into his eyes, her own vision blurred due to the tears.
As she felt his heart beat, she found how naturally it always reflects that of hers, as she too felt her heart beating in that very same rhythm like his at that very moment, inside her ribcage.
.
.
"I Love You, Sunshine.. More than anything, anyone."
He whispered softly with conviction, as her hand remained fixed on his heart and with every beat of his heart a display of chronological events started appearing in her vision..
~~
'
'Sunshine, You always forget what I'm, don't you?'
That was the vision of him in her room from three days ago, when Ezra and he told her about Alexandra.
That is what he said to her last before leaving her house, isn't it?
'Where is this vision making me travel?''
She spoke inwardly.
Was he transcending her to the happenings of three days ago to show her what actually happened, through these visions?
He disappeared down the staircase from her room that night, didn't he?
The lava lamps that lit her house right after that, showing he used a spell garnering energy from the lamps, and that had left her smiling to herself.
But he didn't reach home?
Why?
.
.
Barren land?
Which is this place?
Arnav?
How could you end up there?
'She's just a bait.'
Arnav?
This isn't you.
.
'You are actually trapped in that barren land.''
.
'If you are here, then who is it on the phone in the college campus?''
Khushi spoke urgently, her tone panicky and eyes wide as her breaths became shallow. She was becoming part and parcel with the world of witchcraft, but at this moment, vision travel seemed too real to her, and she started behaving like she was actually in the places she was seeing in her vision, whereas, in reality, she was only seeing it, envisioning it, the truth, finally.
.
'ARNAV''
'Can you hear me??''
.
'COME BACK!''
She shouted on top of her lungs, oblivious that he was right here in front of her now, but her vision showed her where he had been all this while, all throughout these three days, when she had believed only what she had seen and heard.
~~
And with another beat of his heart the last vision faded away from her eyes as she jerked her hand away, looking with terror in her eyes while he took a deep breath, tired after using his power to make her envision the real scenario that happened three days ago. It was not an easy spell.
Because it took a lot of energy to bring in the past on the platter for someone else to see, and here Arnav had been already so weak and using all the grave energy to perform this craft, he was already having shallow breathing.
.
.
The tears in her eyes knew no bounds as she crushed herself against his chest, hugging him close to her, as close as humanly possible, the new learnt truth creating a havoc and disaster within her soul.
SheI was right..
He wasn't safe..
There was something wrong..
Her thoughts began playing in her mind but one question outcast them all.
'What if I had lost him?''
Her fear rose to a new level as she clutched his shirt tightly in fear, burying her face in his chest, praying to lord, thanking that supreme power for keeping him safe.
.
Unable to control her sobs, she hated herself so bad at this moment, for even thinking he would do something bad to her.
For once she wanted to die in that instant second, when she suddenly felt him reluctantly breaking the hug and looking into her eyes, standing as close to her as ever.
.
.
"I could never do that to you, Sunshine.. I would die rather than having a life without you.."
His voice was barely audible as he spoke them, but she didn't need loud words today to know his true feelings, as he hugged her once again, kissing her on the nape of her neck and she closed her eyes letting those held tears finally fall, not willing to hold them anymore.
.
.
"It was a vision illusion Khushi. I'm sure Aloysius is behind this. But I have no idea why he would want to get us apart.."
His voice almost broke as he whispered them against her ears, all the while caressing her hair while she was succumbing to peace in his embrace.
"He trapped me in a parallel reality, where no power worked. If Ralph wouldn't have gotten me out of that place with his powers, I would have-"
"No! Nothing would ever happen to you! Nothing!"
She interrupted him before he could complete his sentence.
He pulled away from the hug slowly, looking at her face as she almost mumbled,
"Aloysius can never get us apart Arnav. Never.. Nothing would happen to us, nothing."
As the words escaped her mouth, his lips curved up to that smirk which she would die to come across no matter what.
Even in that painful, frail condition, he still managed to hold that irresistible charm, spark on his face, in his aura.
His fingers stroked her cheeks, as he cupped her face with his hands and pulled her in for an urgent, desperate, hungry kiss, oblivious to all the mishaps, all the warnings that life was them threatening s about.
He needed her.
He needed her, badly.
Everything else could wait.
.
.
He didn't need to have her consent as his tongue explored the corners of her mouth, fighting its own battle and she gave in to his demands, equally passionate, at the same time thankful to the Almighty to allow her to hold him close once again, when all she had thought was she had lost him forever..
.
Time passed by but nothing could satiate their inner desires as they remained close to each other, lost in that unusual bonding that lied between her own devil and her, which the world could hardly fathom.
.
.
As her mind slowly started to believe that everything was for real and she had him really to herself, in her arms, forever, she didn't dodge the question that was too vital for every one of them right now..
If Aloysius had trapped her in a vision illusion, where she thought it was Arnav on the line saying those words evoking vengeance in her, when Arnav was actually caged in that alien land, then what was his motive behind all this?
If in such a short time span, he had the capability of inducing such grave effects on her mind, playing such rough mind games, then what was the limit of his real strength?
And at last but not the least, Was Kevin involved in this?
Her mind quickly examined the sight of that day when Kevin had come to their college and had asked her about the bracelet, complimenting its looks.
And..And the very same day, she had witnessed that fake Arnav saying all that on the phone, making her believe a lie.
A shiver ran down her spine as she conveyed this new found discovery through her mind to Arnav. For now, she didn't need to shield her thoughts from him.
She awaited his reaction, but he kept staring into her eyes, brushing his lips against hers, when he finally spoke with a stern face and fierce voice,
"He will land up dead if he tries to cause you or us any harm Khushi. Mark my words.."
She didn't know how to react to those words, but all she wanted was assurance that Kevin was really involved in this, and utmost of all, Arnav was safe, with her.
.
.
After days of inner conflicts, the night finally felt peaceful today as she surrendered herself in the devil's embrace, her mind tired of those questions of this world which were yet to be decoded, but her heart never tired of loving him, never apprehensive about being with him.
But in this little time of letting her thoughts be unguarded from him, letting the shield spell stay at bay for a while, she also did something she didn't want to, but had to.
She showed him her encounter with Mason from last night.
