Sorry for the late unres.😆

This was kind of an eye-opener for Suraj, seeing and experiencing what a beast his so called father is. He is not beast incarnated, he is the monster himself. Threatening to kill his own wife, to harm his step-son and his wife, to sell his own daughter-in-law, to enslave his own blood. Every time KN touches a new low and our hatred for him touches a new high.

How Suraj could not control himself as soon as he heard Chakor's name. The bad memories resurfaced, clawing at his heart. I am sure he must be wondering, how was I so blind to not see the reality of my father? He is not power hungry, no, he is plain mad.

And he proceeds to accept slavery, the hot iron brand on his chest, on his heart. For Chakor? For her freedom? He doesn't know, could not understand, because the pain was too much to bear. The physical, the mental, the emotional.

Aru, you always write in such reality. I write in fantasy, dreams and sugar, you in truth, nightmares and a punch in the gut. A good, a great punch that is. And I am always speechless. I can't write in proper words how I liked something so I try to incorporate it in my own words, hoping that the author understands what I understood. Understood?😆

Saaanu!!

Such a darling you are 🤗 Always leaving me such lovely, long, intelligent comments. You've got everything, spot on.

I'll just add a little bit. Although we'd like to think he would do it solely for Chakor (actually you can go ahead and think that if you want 😆 it's fanfic after all), I believe he would've done it for all of them. While I wrote this I sort of had something else in mind. KNR just managed to get a reaction out of him because Suraj himself wasn't prepared for her name to be brought up or for what he felt when it was.

And the flashback had more significance than him remembering his father was always a monster. I'm honestly surprised no one mentioned it!! He didn't shoot the strange bird staring at the moon despite what his father said. He wouldn't hurt her namesake at the cost of being beaten and even now he wasn't going to hurt Chakor despite his freedom being on the line.

^ Yes, I do remember the bird part. Actually, I'll admit, that because I unresd this late, that part kind of slipped my mind. I had formed a reply in my mind as I read this but when I was writing the reply later, it hid somewhere LOL.
I'll just say that, that part plainly tells us how human Suraj always was. He did not have the heart to kill a bird, how could he be the reason for a human's death? And yes, he accepted the mohar for all, but it was mainly because KN mentioned Chakor and got a unexpected reaction out of Suraj, which was as unexpected for himself.

He did kill one though, in front of Chakor. And he said the patthar dil dialogue. I just wanted to say that it was all because of KNR that he lost a part of his soul.

Wow - Aradhana - this one is actually my fav one of yours to date...and its surprising for me because of the fact that its not really a Sukor scene tho Sukor - foussed. Suraj's emotions are brilliantly captured.
And the highpoint is the subtlety...the Chakor bird...simply Brilliant - so subtle and yet effective! They way you weave words and use allusions in places where one does not typically expect them is aweome...it forces the reader to read through everything for fear of missing some gem hidden somewhere.
Especially for me since Hindi is not my first language - I have the habit of skimming hindi dialogs without fully taken the time to read and understand.
Also the use of the same dialog of Suraj to Chakor and tying it back to KN...brilliant there as well...placing the blame squarely on the father's shoulder...redeeming Suraj a bit.
Also as always ... you never miss a chance to bring down Vivaan and Imli...😆

Keep writing...not sure how i missed this earlier. Also when I saw Chakor run to Suraj in the last episode...my thoughts were on what I'd commented in your last OS.
I really did not think Chakor was ready to consider any romantic relationship with Suraj...now I'm not sure. I really don't want the CVs to rush this and make her fall in love first. I would hate it. I would like a long track Suraj is actively and single-mindedly pursuing her and she is fighting the attraction. I so dont want her taking the first step.

@Priya
I cannot tell you how glad I am reading your comment! TBH, I was a little disappointed with the response to this one, overall and the fact that everyone noticed just that little bit about him reacting to the mention of Chakor.

I'm so glad you liked the other little things and the fact that you liked this best! TBH, I did too. Usually I have to write someone or the other (usually Suraj) being OOC to serve the plot and add some romance (which I hate writing) to make people happy. If I'm being honest that's the reason I added the last line to the sequel. And boy was I glad watching yesterday's ep! Chakor wasn't OOC, after all, in retrospect.

And Hindi is my third language and I'm absolutely rotten at it myself. But KNR speaking English seemed like such BS I had to write this in Hindi. God knows how I'm going to manage the final instalment! May just cheat and switch over to English.

Thank you so much again Priya!! Coming from you, the compliments mean a great deal!!

wow aru. you capture the suraj we are currently not seeing on the show... hopefully he comes back soon.

this girl has captured his heart and he doesn't even know it... does he...

the idea that chakor brings out the reaction from suraj and the brand is burnt to his heart is just a great parallel too.

he quotes his father's line to her about having a stone heart...

love the way he wonders what his prey is looking at... and he doesnt want to hurt her... again the parallels of the bird and chakor... 👏

tiny attention to detail like KN drawing out suraj's pain... KN laughing and mocking and putting Suraj down... and Suraj's bit of disbelief that his father can brand him...

love it...
