Hey guys! I know it's been quite some time since I last updated this story. Honestly I was planning to update this story after I finish MIMP, but lots of you were requesting an update after the teaser I posted ;) So here it is. But since it's been a long time I'll just give a quick recap on the story so far:

Arnav, the King of the Fashion Industries is the CEO of AR Designs. And Khushi is his PA. She comes from a simple family in Lucknow but with big dreams of working in the city. She ended up as Arnav's PA. After a while he asks her to be his girlfriend, for the sake of showing his family. Yet he still tells her that the relationship will be real in every way. She says yes because somewhere her heart was telling her to go with this idea. But Arnav told her right from the beginning never to expect love or marriage from him ever. He assured that her he will give her lots of expensive gifts and money, but she told him that the only thing that wanted from the relationship was HIM. During their one-year relationship, she starts falling for him immensely.

She cared for him in all the ways she could, which didn't go unnoticed by Arnav. After his Di had got married he missed the only affection he ever got, but he got used to that after a while. But when Khushi started to care for him, although he pushed it away at first, he started to revel in it later. He accepted her affection, but refused to accept that she was important for him. One day Anjali and Nani asked Khushi to fast for Teej the next day and Khushi agreed. She asked Arnav to break her fast but he refused saying that he didn't believe in it. When she tried to convince him, he burst out on her that she had no right' to tell him what to do. That was an eye-opener for Khushi. She realised her place in his life and how she'd got lost in a dream world without noticing it ever since she fell in love with him. She went missing on the day of Teej, but Arnav finds her in a mandir and breaks her fast when she faints. He looks after her the whole day in his penthouse. Khushi revels in that care, but leaves the very next morning before Arnav woke up. She leaves a letter telling him that she loved him, but it hurt too much to be so close to him while not being close to him at all. She wishes him all the best and hopes he'll find the right girl for himself. Arnav is shocked to find out that she loves him. He knows she is special to him and that she is HIS. He decides that he'll get her back and won't let her leave him.

From there the story continues...

Chapter 9

It had been two days since Khushi had come back to Lucknow, and everyone was worried about her.

She was trying to act like her normal self but everyone could see through the facade.

She was very quiet... She wasn't eating properly... Even her favourite jalebis weren't appealing to her! She had dark under eye circles from lack of sleep... It was as if the life had been taken out of Khushi.

Shashi and Garima were very worried about their child. When they'd asked her if anything was wrong, she'd brushed it off saying everything was fine, she was just feeling a little bit sick that's all.

She hadn't even told them why she'd returned. They didn't even know if she was on leave or what...

Normally, at least Payal would be able to talk to Khushi and find out what was bothering her, but this time even that wasn't working. She'd completely shut herself off to everyone.

They were sitting at the dining table, having their lunch, when suddenly the doorbell rang.

Seeing that as an excuse to leave her lunch, she got up before anyone else could saying, "I'll get it."

After washing her hands quickly, she went and opened the door to get the biggest shock of her life.

There he was standing.

The object of her thoughts.

The King of her dreams.

The Arnav Singh Raizada.

Arnav didn't fail to notice her shock, as well as the way her eyes hungrily took his form in, as if having being starved for weeks and finally getting food.

He also didn't miss the changes in her. Her pale face, her dark under-eye circles, the sadness that lingered in her eyes...

His heart felt a stab as he saw his ever-happy Khushi in this terrible state.

Silly woman,' he thought. When she missed him so much, why did she leave him and come here? She was running away from a heartbreak' but she looked like she'd had a 100 heartbreaks in these 2 days.

"Y-you?" Khushi questioned, shocked out of her wits. Never had she expected him to follow her to Lucknow.

"Yes m-me," he replied, mimicking her slight stutter.

"What are you doing here?"

"Of course to tell you that your two day holiday is now over and that tomorrow you should be at AR Designs, Lucknow, at 9am sharp tomorrow," he said very loudly, making heads at the dining table turn towards the door.

"Who is it Khushi bitiya?" her father asked, coming towards the door.

When Shashi didn't recognise him, he decided to introduce himself. "Namaste Sir, I'm Arnav Singh Raizada, your daughter's boy-"

"Boss!" Khushi cut him off quickly, giving him a death glare before turning to her father. "He's my boss, babuji," she said, trying to smile as normally as she could, while her heart was racing at 100mph, partially because she was scared Arnav would reveal the truth, and partially because of the effect Arnav always had on her.

Arnav simply smirked seeing her fear.

Don't worry Khushi, I won't let the fun end before it has even begun. If you think I will let you go so easily, then you have another thing coming,' he thought to himself.

"Nice to meet you Sir," Arnav said.

"Nice to meet you too - please do come in!" Shashi invited him inside. "We were just having lunch - would you like to join us? I know it's probably not up to the standard of the high class food you eat but-"

"Of course I'll join you all Sir. And when it comes to food, home-made food is always the best no matter which 5-star hotel you could go to," he said with a polite smile. He wasn't normally this nice with his employees' families, but for some reason he wanted to impress these people.

Maybe because you like Khushi a lot, and therefore want to win her family's hearts,' a part of him said. But he pushed that thought away as soon as it hit him.

Soon, Shashi introduced him to the family as Khushi's boss. And Arnav got acquainted with all the other family members: Garima, Buaji, Payal, Shashi...

As Arnav sat down on the table, coincidentally on the empty seat right next to Khushi's, Garima said to Khushi, "Go and get a plate for him."

Khushi went inside reluctantly and got him a plate, placing it in front of him as she came back to the dining room.

As she was about to sit down in her seat, Buaji said, "Are Sanka Devi, what are you doing sitting down while Babua has an empty plate in front of him?! Serve him food will you?!"

Putting on a fake smile, she served Arnav his food, leaving out the dishes she knew he didn't like.

This didn't go unnoticed by Arnav.

He felt his heart melt as he saw that Khushi still cared for him despite being hurt by him. How could I hurt an angel like her?' he thought to himself.

In these two days, he realised the one mistake that he'd made throughout his relationship with her.

He didn't show her how important she was to him. He had been utterly selfish, revelling in the care that she gave him without showing her affection in return.

It's not as if he didn't show his care at all - he did. In many ways. He helped her out when she needed it, he took her out on dates, he listened to her talk at 100mph... But he never gave her affection the way she did with him...

Khushi always made him feel like a part of her life... A very important part... Whereas he always kept her at a distance. He liked her... Admired her... Yet he never went too close and nor did he let her come too close...

It was only after his birthday that they stepped forward... Seeing the way she'd cared for him that night he just couldn't control himself... And that led to his - no sorry, their - first ever kiss. Before that their touches were limited to just hugs and cheek-kisses. But that day, he took it a step ahead. They started to grow just a little more comfortable with each other after that, but he went ahead and spoiled it the day before Teej. He'd gone ahead and told her that she had no rights over him...

It may have been only one sentence, but it totally broke Khushi.

And now when he looked back, he realised why just a mere sentence hurt Khushi so much... It's because he never gave her any chance to feel that she was important to him... He never made her feel like a true girlfriend... He never let her in...

And that one sentence just took her to the breaking point...

But now Arnav was determined to rectify his mistake.

And for that, even if he had to force her to be with him at first, then he would.

With that thought set in his mind, he started to eat.

The minute he had the first morsel, he knew who'd made the food.

"You cooked it didn't you?" he asked Khushi quietly, who was playing around with her food instead of eating.

Khushi's eyes shot up to his in surprise. How did he know?

"I know the taste of your food Khushi," he answered her unspoken question, taken her by surprise again. "By the way it's really good - I missed this in these few days," he said, making sure that no one could hear their conversation, while he dug into the food.

His words made her heart flutter.

He recognised the food made by her? Just by the taste?

That brought her lost appetite back.

And maybe a piece of her heart too...

She started eating her food, feeling happiness bubbling in her heart for the first time in two days.

But then she realised what was happening...

How could I let this happen? He's getting my hopes up only to break them ruthlessly again!' she thought. She berated herself for being so weak.

She wouldn't bend, she told herself as she ate.

After they all finished lunch, Arnav sat with the family for a few minutes to be polite.

He mostly talked to Khushi's father, about his business, family, their family etc.

Soon, he got up and said, "It's best if I leave soon - I have a lot of work pending with the current project. But before that, is it okay if I have a quick word with Khushi? She's missed quite a lot in these two days, and it's important that she's up to date with everything before she restarts tomorrow, especially with the amount of work load pending..."

Khushi's eyes widened at this. No ways! Being alone with him in this situation should be avoided at all costs! Before she could come up with an excuse, Buaji said, "Of course babua!" She turned to Khushi and said, "Are Titaliya what are you doing just standing there? Take him to your room!"

Khushi knew she couldn't argue with Buaji, so she just led him to her room, muttering curses at him under her breath.

The second they entered the room, Khushi shut the door and locked it, anger bubbling inside her.

The moment, she was sure it was locked, she almost pounced on Arnav, "What the hell are you doing here?! Why did you come here?! Didn't I tell you I don't want to be with you anymore? What part of that don't you under-" She tried to keep her voice down, considering her family were just outside, watching TV.

"How dare you Khushi?" he said as if she hadn't spoken, his voice dangerously low. "How dare you leave me like that?"

He stepped towards her, making her step back.

"How could you Khushi?" he asked. "Was it that easy for you? To leave behind everything we shared?" He kept moving towards her, while she moved back. "To leave our relationship behind? To leave me behind?" Her back finally hit the wall behind her.

A small part of Khushi felt guilty for the decision she had taken as she heard his vulnerability in his voice.

When she had decided to leave him, she had only thought about her own pain. Not once had she thought about what Arnav might feel... How this decision would affect him...

Or maybe unconsciously she did, but she had assumed that he wouldn't care... That he would just move on and forget about her... That he would just find another girl to be his girlfriend.

But he didn't, her heart rejoiced.

But she shushed her heart. She was done listening to heart and getting hurt... She couldn't do it anymore...

And so she looked away as she said, "When there was nothing there, then what was there to leave behind?"

That stung for Arnav.

"So we didn't share anything?" he asked, his jaw set.

"We did, but it had no meaning," she replied, still refusing to meet his eyes.

"No meaning at all?" Arnav asked.

"None." Khushi found herself close to tears as she forced those words out of her mouth.

"Right." Arnav said sarcastically. "Then I'm sure this won't mean anything to you too."

Not sparing another second, Arnav took her lips into a bruising kiss, his body slamming into hers as he cupped her face.

At first Khushi didn't respond, too shocked by the unexpected move. But then a moment later, she tried to push him off with all her strength.

But that only made him come closer still, plastering his body against hers, while he grabbed her hands and held them up above her head against the wall, not breaking the kiss.

Khushi struggled as he kissed her harshly, letting out all his frustration with the way she called their relationship meaningless, the way she left him without another thought, the way she evoked a thousand emotions within him that he didn't even understand...

She tried to resist as he bit and sucked her lips roughly, but soon she found herself giving in...

She too started kissing him back, letting out her anger with the way he'd hurt her... The way he'd said she had no rights over him... The lack of space he gave her in his life... She let it all out in the kiss as she responded to the kiss with equal feistiness.

All the words they wanted to communicate to each other, they expressed through this kiss...

As the seconds passed, the course of the kiss changed...

Rather than expressing their anger and disappointment, they now started questioning each other, as to how the other could do that to them.

Arnav kissed her almost desperately, as he freed her hands and grasped her waist with one hand, pulling her closer while grabbing her tresses with the other hand, trying to feel her... How could she just leave him? Hadn't she promised that she would be with him always? Hamesha? He put all his complaints into the kiss as he held onto her tightly, making up for how much he'd yearned for her in these two days...

And Khushi responded with equal longing as she clutched at his collar, trying to bring him as close as possible. How could he hurt her? How could he make her feel like she didn't mean anything to him? How could he just throw careless words at her like that? She also put all her complaints into the kiss as she pulled him closer still, not being able to get enough of him.

How much she'd ached for this in these two days, she thought as tears rolled down her cheeks with how overwhelmed she felt.

As they ran out of breath, they both pulled away, breathing hard.

When Arnav saw her tears, he felt like someone squeezed his heart. He was the reason for those tears...

His eyes held his sincere apologies as he leaned forward and gently kissed her tears away on both cheeks...

He then placed kisses on each of her eyes... Then on her cute little nose... Her cheeks... Her chin... Her forehead...

And then his lips were back on hers... But this time gently... Tenderly...

He kissed her softly, his hands cupping her face as if she was a porcelain doll that would break at the slightest of pressure.

He let their tongues duel and explore each other other's mouths, making them both moan at the sensations that they felt.

Arnav kissed her like she meant the world to him... Like she was his everything... Like he wanted to cherish her with his whole being...

And Khushi just let herself revel in his affection...

She let her fingers run through his hair while her other hand rested on his shoulder.

The kiss was so soft that they both felt themselves melt with how sweet it felt...

When they started struggling for breath, they pulled apart, their hands staying where they were as they rested their foreheads against each other.

"So tell me Khushi," Arnav said, a minute later once he got his breathing under control. "Was that meaningless too?"

As his words sank in, Khushi starting pushing him away, the anger inside her building up again. So he was doing all this just to prove his point?!

But Arnav simply grabbed her hands, which were trying to push him away, and pulled her into him so she stood flush against him as he wrapped his arms securely round her waist.

"No Khushi," he answered her unvoiced thought as she gave up her struggle. "What we just shared was real... And it can't get more meaningful than this..." he said huskily, nuzzling her cheeks.

"What we share between us is special... And there's no way in hell that I'll let it go... Let you go... Khushi you're stuck with me, whether you like it or not... Because I'm not letting you go... Ever... Arnav will always stay with Khushi," he said.

And right there, without even realising it, Arnav had made Khushi a promise of a lifelong commitment, making her heart flutter...

"I'll wait for you tomorrow at the Lucknow office. Sharp 9am. Don't forget," he said, huskily. Placing a quick, yet tantalizing kiss on the corner of her mouth, he whispered, "See you tomorrow baby..."

And with that, he turned around and left the room with a smirk in place, feeling happy.

He left Gupta house, after bidding a quick, polite bye to everyone.

Meanwhile, Khushi still stood frozen in the room where he'd left her...

What just happened?' she thought.

Phew! Finally, I finished writing this long-due update! How was it guys? Please please please let me know how it was with your likes/comments...
