Mission X

Again, Ranveer was pacing back and forth in his room, like a caged lion. It took him some time before he sat down and looked at the letter again. The letter that had left him puzzled. What was going on here?! Desperately, to find some kind of clue to start with, he had read the letter so many times, he memorized each word of it. Haunted by a new set of questions and the lingering images of Priyanka's frail face, he realized he would most likely not be able to sleep at all. Instead, he thought of a new strategy to unravel this mystery once and for all.

How could he have missed out on such detail? Never had he considered the fact that Priyanka had spoken the truth or was being blackmailed. What about the rest of the family? Who else was aware of what happened two years ago? Come to think of it.. Who else was aware of Priyanka being in the ashram? When did she receive the letter? Her family would never harm her. The way the Oberois stand up for each other, that much had became clear for him. It made him miss his sister even more.

His instincts had never failed him before. He thought he was able to cut of his emotional involvement in this matter. To stay objective and solve this case for his sister's sake.. For his nephew.. Or perhaps he was the one who needed this closure the most. Had his prejudice towards rich powerful families clouded his judgement, his instincts?

In his mind he visualized the wall in his office with notes and pictures. All the faces of the Oberois and their close connections flashed by quickly. He got up from his chair all of a sudden.. He was not sure but it was worth to investigate.. Priyanka's Bua.. Roop.. She had been an outsider for years. It was worth to double check her alibi. Could Roop be the mysterious "X"?

He decided to check early morning, when the mail was delivered and by whom. He needed to get into Priyanka's room once more, to find the envelope or even more mail with possible clues. Should he confront Priyanka? Or even return the letter before she realized it was gone?
