I think it is a modern day fairy tale where the prince is under the spell of the evil queen of Ishwari Empire. The evil queen stole his childhood and now puts a spell (read emotional atyachar) every time he does something for himself. The prince meets the princess who will rescue him from this spell and then they will live happily ever after. The queen has surrounded herself with mutes( Ria and Nikki) , evil ministers( GKB , Vicky, Neha ) . There is a dwarf (Mamajee) who knows the real intentions of the queen but keeps quiet for his own survival.
The princess will break the spell with her love!
1. As fusion article pointed out, Ishwari asks the mirror every day who is the fairest of them all and it says "you" and that's why Sona was wearing white dress (Snow White reference) when she shows her the real mirror of who is the fairest of them all.
2. Sona always takes Dev out of the Ishwari mansion ( scooty date, SR, dinner date that got ruined etc.)
