Why is IRAN making better Horror films than India?

Despite Iran having a conservative society and not as large Movie Industry as BW.

Censorship is more strict they make better horror movies in recent years then BW has ever done.

Why is that?

None of the top BW actors or actresses have ever done horror. Kangana, Amir, etc etc. I have noticed.

Is that because they will be OTT and fake

I do not know about horror genre , but Irani cinema , overall , is much ahead of many of the mainstream movie industries . Yes , they are small , conservative but these limiting factors do not affect their movies at all . Irani movies are my most favourite and they take you to some other world and make you differently ecstatic ( this , despite the fact that most of them have sad endings )

society can be conservative/liberal - it does not matter, filmmakers can always put forth good content in any kind of society if they are willing to...
