The Forbidden Try

The drive back to Khan Villa was rather serious than silent, though there were no words exchanged the silence did the talking and hardly driving them to any conclusion. Asad knew whatever Zoya felt for him was genuine and neither any pretense nor the heat of flaring hormones but still deep down she was still insecure about the turn their lives had taken!

On one hand where Asad was thinking about Zoya's condition on other hand Zoya was thinking about Kabir the chapter in her life which had started unwillingly, though she hadn't got into any deep friendship with him it hurt her to hurt him! That poor guy wasn't at fault at all!

"Zoya, don't. blame. Yourself!" he said again hoping that his rant of same words again and again would help her.

"I'll try just all this is-" she uttered few words just then the lump in her throat overwhelmed her making it impossible for her to speak

"I know!" he kissed her forehead, "Go take some sleep!" Zoya nodded and kissed him gently to make herself feel better!

Zoya took in lungful of air and finally grabbed her cell phone she has been hovering by since an hour now! She scanned throughout her contacts and finally found his number.

Hie she typed and after much long tapped over the send option

Hie came the reply immediately, she never had friendly talk to this guy and thus she wasn't sure what she should speak to trigger the gist of the conversation she intended to start!

How are you? She asked and immediately felt stupid to ask anything such, maybe she should have typed a whole long message of apology and get it over at once!

Good, you? Came his reply while Zoya stared the phone's screen bemused she finally took another deep breath

Look I am sorry! She hit the send button and waited for almost fifteen minutes in the same posture but the reply didn't come!

She wasn't surprised but she had expected a reply nevertheless and let's admit she probably expected him to say It's fine and it's your life stay happy! Not that she didn't expect him to be mad but human mentality is weird it one cannot help but stop dreaming about getting out of any damned crisis in the most easy way possible! But it's fine if he stays mad too she just wanted Kabir to talk to him once so that she gets off atleast one burden her heart carries!

After a quiet hour her phone vibrated on the table grabbing her attention and taking her out of her thoughts successfully... She stared at the screen for sometime before picking it up... It was Kabir calling!

"How are you feeling?" he asked softly

"Like I've been slapped!" she replied honestly getting a chuckle from another end

"So all that on news is-"

"Its the truth!" she said she didn't know why but she closed her eyes waiting for his reaction

"Well then-"

"Can we meet Kabir?"

"Zoya... " he started and she just knew he was about to deny.

"Please?" she said

"Fine!"

"Tomorrow at four at KFC near your place?" she asked

"Fine!"

Zoya felt contented much lighter than ever. Her news was the hottest news all over the country also Asad's and her father's involvement just did the work the petrol did for fire! She shouldn't be meeting Kabir cos it would only flare the flames but she couldn't help it! She didn't want to be a cry baby lamenting anymore but she wanted to do her bit in putting things together. The situation may be her fault, maybe she was to be blamed for the shame she has gotten herself into and she did dearly fear the consequences of her actions but she has to make sure that nobody who isn't at fault suffers because of her!

Next afternoon Zoya stepped out of KV, whole day she hadn't seen Asad and was glad that he is giving her space she never demanded but needed. She informed the watchman that she will be back by 8 at night and asked him to inform the same in case Asad asks. The watchman nodded in agreement and she left looking out for a taxi just then a car came to halt in front of her and the driver started lowering the glass pane.

"Zoya I want to talk to you!"

"Sure abbu!" she said as she sat in passenger's seat and the car sped off
