He always also maintained that Anika is different...even different from rest of the people of her class...which is true to some extent I believe!
Even if he slightly believed Tia, he is not regretting it big time after that another attack on her where Daksh reached to help her and not him...he is dying in the guilt of not being there for her!
He was confused maybe once, but now all his confusions are clear and he believes in Anika more than anyone else and I feel one night thing will also be just a misunderstanding like the gold digger thing.
