What do we know about the character Nihal?
We learned in flash back scenes in early March 2008 - one of the Maan child has been lost at a train station. Name of the child was never mentioned but it was known to be a young boy.
When Heer's parents tragically dying in bus accident in Ambala, they talked to a young man who came to save them from falling down. trapped inside the bus. Heer's mom has asked him to take care of their children.
Soon after we find the same young man walking through green fields and finds Meher and Heer. He had a brief chat and a playful time tossing a coin in the air so the girls could make a decision.
We see him again at the Maan's house but he left briefly from there.
After the Maan sisters arrived in Ludhiana, he was shown to be working for the Junejas, primarily Prem Juneja, CEO of Juneja industries at personal level.
It was not clear what his position was. However from the interaction on phone between Nihal and Prem Juneja while searching to find evidence to prove Manmeet, Heer's fiance is fake, the viewers understood Nihal as trustworthy person.
After Prem leaves the house to Chawl, Nihal comes and offers his help to stay with him in his place that Prem refused.
When Junejas were in Ajmer, Heer, Prem and Meher also came there. When the storm came his foster mother reveals that she kidnapped him at a train station. Nihal always had his clothes he wore when he was lost as a child.
Biji - elderly member of Junejas finds the truth of Nihal's back ground. She saw Nhal's foster mom pass away in front of her eyes due to the injury from the storm.
She later reveals the truth when Junejas returned to Ludhiana.
She did not know his parents, she just found out Nihal being kidnapped and separated from his parents.
Nihal has helped other members of Junejas during the storm and his foster mom has saved Biji.
As a token of appreciation she asks him to stay with Junejas.
He was convinced by others to move in there.
One day Veera accuses Nihal of trying to take advantage of her by walking inside a room where she went to change clothes. He was physically attacked and words hurled at him but he quietly took all of that as he didn't know how to defend himself. He was as surprised as everyone else how and why he ended up in that room at that time.
Biji believes his innocence.
Heer also believes his innocence and accidentally went inside his room, searching for something and found the clothes and a pic of her parents he had in a drawer. She realises he is the long lost son of her parents and her brother. She was elated but could not celebrate as the family has turned against him that time.
He had already left the house. She runs after him and they had a sweet brother and sister very emotional reunion on the street.
Heer wanted to go with him but Nihal refused. He advises her to go back to the Jzoo as they are her guardians now since her parents are no more - he says something to this effect.
Tragedy fell on Jzoo - the oldest son Prem, Heer's fiance was declared dead.
Prem's as well as his youngest step sister Veera's wedding were to happen on the same day.
Due to the tragedy it was in a question mark now - The person marrying Veera is the enemy of the Junejas - Rishab Rampal.
Nihal receives information that Rishab is fraud - this piece of tip given anonymously.
The name of informer will be revealed after the return of Prem as he himself informs to Heer why he had to act as Gaurav Sharma.
Nihal comes to the wedding and informs Heer. She immediately did not believe her brother and feels he is stopping the wedding as he likes Veera and didn't want her to marry someone else.
Nihal manages to break through the guests and calls out Rishap as having bad intentions against the Juneja family.
Preet immediately grabs Nihal and tries to throw him out but Rishap gets up from the mandap and says Nihal is telling the truth.
That's when Nihal tells Heer to dial a # to verify if Rishab is fraud or not. The phone rings in the mandap and everyone sees it's Rishab's phone ringing.
Rishab even points out to a woman saying "That's my girlfriend and I was with her last night".
Of course Veera's hatred hightened ten fold against Heer and Maan family.
The Junejas are furious and tell him to get lost. Rishap taunts them that he has pics of him and Veera and who will marry their daughter now if he walks out on her.
Bauji says he accepts his challenge and before the mauhrat is over his daughter will be married to a much better man than Rishap.
Now where to find such a young man? Heer reveals to Bauji that Nihal is actually her and Meher's long lost real brother and suggest that he marry Veera.
Bauji is happy.
Meanwhile, Harman and Meher have returned from their trip to Shimla. Meher had rescued Harman from freezing to death in the snow, when Maya had abandoned him. He has a change of heart and realizes that Meher is a much more worthy girl than Maya.
Bauji asks Nihal to marry Veera, but he says he cannot marry before his sisters are married. Heer is committed to Prem, but at least he has to see Meher married.
Harman proposes to Meher reassuring her that he will love her...so Nihal agrees to the marriage to Veera.
Veera doesn't want to marry Nihal, but Kuljeet, Juneja family relative who was staying there, convinces her that he has returned no longer as an employee of the Junejas but a self-made man, with a consulting company and small fortune of his own. Veera should marry him and save her reputation and live a comfortable life. Veera only thinks of the money and agrees.
Just before Harman-Meher and Nihal-Veera wedding...Harman learns that Maya attempted suicide. He leaves to check on Maya promising to come back. But once he gets to Maya's house, he sees how she is crying for him and has actually tried to harm herself over him...he feels she loves him too much and of course he was in love with her. He decides to abandon Meher and his family.
Bauji feels himself to be a failure...that now Veera won't get married...and he couldn't keep his promise to Balraj and tries to kill himself.
That's when he learns that the weddings are proceeding. He thinks Harman is back...but in reality Preet has stepped in
Preet the youngest Juneja brothers steps in and asks Meher if she would agree to marry him. It is to save his father and family's reputation. Preet was dating Ashlesha who is Meher's cousin however he decided to compromise his wishes and asked Meher for the same. She agreed for this. She too didn't want to hurt Bauji.
After the disappearance of Prem, his step mom g3 turned zombie and in semi conscious state and physically not able to take care of herself or anyone else. She was not comprehending her surrounding or what anyone is doing.
Prem returns and in a dramatic way - it was a gradual process with regards to Heer and then Preet or even g3 however rest of the family has not seen him. He appeared to have forgotten his past. After seeing his step mom g3 he remembered his past life and married Heer.
Nihal was a silent viewer all through this. He was happy his sister Heer is happy. He has seen her go through so much hard ship and Junejas misunderstanding her even he had his doubts about her decisions regards to Rishab's proposal to marry Heer.
All that confusion / problems / misunderstandings cleared up now and everything seem to be back to normal for a while until his wife started to act weird.
Veera seemed really friendly towards his bro in law Harman's fiance Maya. The marriage of Maya and Harman soon happened and she has moved into the Junejas house as a daughter in law.
He understood that Veera's closeness towards Maya was because of the gifts she has given her. He felt disgusted that his wife has accepted such expensive things as gifts but he is unable to fight with her. She ignored whatever he said.
He explained to her it is not proper to receive something when we are unable to return the same to the other person.
One day Veera said she will try to be a good wife and they even had a physical relationship. Then she suddenly changed again and acted unhappy no matter what he tried to do.
He did all the house work and took care of her but she was so uninterested and every day had a different drama when he returned from work.
There were so many problems between themselves. One day when Nihal informed her Preet may have lost his job as he accidentally found out from his boss. Nihal was doing consultation regarding cost effective way to manage the company. As per his advise and suggestion the head of company decided to lay off or fire some staff. Preet was one of them. Veera blamed him and informed the family about it too.
Preet was kind and took this matter without any hard feelings. Nihal was grateful for that.
Day by day the demand for luxurious lifestyle and her unfriendly behaviour towards him has shocked him. Each day he hoped things would get better but whatever effort he took, Veera didn't understand or refused to understand him.
And now he was here at this point in his life being accused and yelled by Junejas. In their eyes he is a liar, he tortures his wife and incapable of taking care of a wife!
He really didn't know what all she did when he was away or whom she talks to. He never wanted to interfere in her life. He was trying to make her happy and obviously he failed miserably. He felt absolutely miserable for being the cause of trouble for his sisters.
He felt terrible for having agreed to marry an immature spoiled brat who is not ready for a committed relationship.
He felt so sad having to listen harsh words his wife spills out or the insults she throws at him about his sisters. He tolerated all that up until now.
Will he continue to do that? Will he stay quiet now with all the serious accusations being hurled at him by his wife's family?

An imaginary write up based on the scenes up until the recent episode.
Nihal's thoughts drifting ...
Bhai tell me what is wrong? Why Veera is crying and why has she come here for?
Nihal looks down feeling miserable unable to answer this question.
He grew silent and blanking out of the surrounding that is loud noise consisting accusations hurled at him by someone whom he considered as wife, her mother while her brothers trying to process all that.
He did notice his own siblings scared, shocked just like he was feeling at the moment standing on the side.
He stayed outside all this while. He reflected on what just happened.
There was a party at the Junejas - he was also invited. He accepted the invite like a good son in law and accompanied his wife and even joined in.
Suddenly he saw his oldest sis Heer grabbing his wife by hand and moving inside.
She quickly came back to join the celebration so he didn't think much of it.
Later he felt a sudden silence on the party atmosphere and only heard whispering sounds coming from various guests but he couldn't figure out what it is they are whispering. Obviously it was not meant for him to hear he thought. He slowly looked up the stairs - just purely by chance.
Omg what did he see? His petite wife wearing a saree? !š² He didn't even know she could be this traditional he thought. šš²
Hey there is Always first time he was thinking and that is when he saw something weird - his wife is making weird faces while climbing down the stairs holding the saree pallu as if it's going to fall.š²
He felt bad for her almost and would have gone to her side but but wait his mother in law ran in jet speed and grabbed her hand.
He thought his MIL was rather weird why is she doing that ? He then noticed his wife being dragged
and other women following. He saw his brother in law Prem is following them as well.
He had no clue what it is. He didn't want to interfere if it's something the Junejas' secret meeting or something. But his heart was beating fast. He saw his oldest sis Heer being one of the women following his MIL.
He always found his MIL as a mother very loving towards his sisters and himself.
She smiles always but what has happened to her? Is she ill? He really has no clue!
Short while later he saw everyone returning. His MIL still had a face as if she just ate bitter medicine.
He decided to walk towards her and ask - as he did so she just looked at him with a blank face!
This shocked him šš² as he really don't know the reason for her behaviour.
He saw Bauji dancing and his sister was pulled in by Preet - his sweet bro in law.
Even Prem - his former boss and now his bro in law joining in. Prem dragged his step mom g3 to the dance floor. He hugged her for long time.
This scene didn't surprise anyone and Nihal is used to seeing his ex boss being affectionate towards his step mom loads of times.
He couldn't see his wife anywhere though.
Everything turned blurry for him as suddenly he heard "Touch touch me.." back ground music playing. He looked up to see Harman's wife Maya dancing and all eyes are glued on her.š²š
Somehow the party got over and he was glad. He really didn't pay attention to anyone and looked as if no one paid attention to him either. He was fine with being ignored totally.
The usual sweet souls Kulraj, his sisters, Preet and Kiran Jiju were busy entertaining guests. Even Bauji was talking to all of his business partners that were present there.
He decided to get his car ready, surprisingly his wife joins him. He had no idea where she popped in there out of blue! š² But he was glad she was there without any mellow drama.
In the car there was small chit chat started by his wife, he was merely nodding his head.
In the corner of his eye he saw her dropping something. It looked like a piece of paper.
She stepped out the car and he found a folded piece of paper. It was a report for abortion.
Wait no this is not right. It must be someone else's report. But I saw Veera drop from her own hand? šš²
Nihal re reads the paper. Wow sure enough he did read correctly. He looked at the patient's name and it was Veera Juneja. She kept her maiden name as per her wish.
Nihal couldn't believe nor could he accept this as real. He decided to find out from his wife - may be she is playing a prank?! š² She is really capable of being playful. He did love that childlike attitude of hers!!
He went inside and confronts his wife as calmly as he could. But sadly it turned out to be true that she did aborted the child - his and her child. She pointed out the reason as having a poor husband who cannot support a family. She asked to call the doctor to confirm if he didn't believe her.
That's exactly what he did! He called and got confirmation!! Then he slapped as he lost his cool!!!
He immediately regretted having raised his hand as she fell on the floor with the force of his slap.š
At the moment he didn't know if his wife was acting as being hurt or if she really fell due to his slap.
What followed is just a blur for him again.
All he remembers now is he took the car and followed her to his in laws - Junejas' house.
She ran away from the house and disappeared. So he assumed she took a taxi and must have gone to her parents' house.
His car was purchased few days ago as per his sis Heer's advise. The money he saved that he planned to gift to his sisters as wedding present was used for this car.
He didn't think it was right but Heer advised him at that moment it was important to keep his wife happy and this is the right thing to do.

Nihal came out of his trance as he heard a door opening sound.
He found to his surprise his wife slowly coming towards him.š²
He didn't know what to say or where to begin to talk to her. All he said was "I am sorry".
His wife looked at him and gave a teasing smile. She threatened him if he tells the truth to her family she will make sure his sisters will suffer. She told him her mom listens to her and she will punish him this way.
Nihal was shocked. š² He really didn't understand why his wife is acting this way.
He wondered what does aborting a child has to do with his sisters? Why is she dragging his sisters in to her problem or rather his and her problem? š²
After seeing his MIL earlier in the evening he knew his wife is capable of doing what she threatened to do for his sisters! He didn't want that.
Slowly he saw his wife move out and closing the door again.
...
He heard a commotion soon after and opened the door of his room. He saw his sis Heer talking with Veera and his wife seem scared a little.š²
Before he could register the situation, he saw his sister being pulled by her husband Prem and he was yelling at her in a harsh tone. He couldn't hear clearly. His sister looked shocked and several times tried to say something but Prem just gave her threatening look and shut her down.
Nihal didn't like what is happening in front of his eyes but soon his sister walked towards him and asked to tell the truth. He was shocked that she knew!š²š²š²
He remembered his wife's threat. He stayed quiet however Heer made him swear on her head to tell the truth.
He said what he found out about the abortion and his call to the doctor etc as quickly as possible with as much detail he knew.
His wife kept denying through out and looked scared a little. After his explanation the family looked at his wife. She denied while his MIL asked questions. Someone said to call the doctor and he saw to his surprise his ex boss Prem taking out the phone from his pocket.
He looked at him and then waited. His thoughts silently went towards the past. He remembered a time that he was Prem's right hand man. Of course all changed after Prem was declared dead by the police. He knew his ex boss like he knew himself. There were so many qualities of him that he admired and loved. He was hoping he would see non prejudiced calm collected boss in Prem but he knew at the moment Prem is just Veer's older bro and will only support her even if she lies.
The doctor soon arrived as she was summoned by the Junejas immediately and all hell broke lose then!
OMG did he see a crazy psycho g3? š² Ok he admitted the slap was harsh and he should be punished! He would gladly accept even a jail term for that he thought!!
But what he saw was the doc telling lies that she never talked to Nihal about abortion made his head spin.
He quickly spotted a silent eye communication between Maya, Harman's wife and the doc.
He had a suspicion they planned to get him trapped somehow using his wife or the other way around his wife using their help trapped him!!
...
That's it! He decided!! He's seen all that he needed!!!
This may sound rash or quick to judge for a person in his place but he won't let this continue he thought.
I was calm, quiet and patient but not anymore
How dare they treat my sister that way? Heer couldn't even get a word out of her mouth? š²
What is the guarantee that Meher won't be hurt after this drama Veera pulled?š
No way - Prem will only listen to his sister's side and who knows what Preet will do!
I'm getting them out of here.
So what if they won't have a life? I can keep them safe at least.
They are educated and capable of making their life better than this hell hole of a J zoo they are in.
Sigh why did I even agree to my sister Heer to marry this Veera?
I know my sister understood that I liked her but who knew behind the petite body of a girl there is a monster to be waken up waiting to come out like now? !š²
Papa ji Ma ji please forgive me. Your dream to marry Heer to your choice of groom did happen but just didn't last long. It is all a huge mess and all three of your children are tangled in a web that my so called wife has woven around us. She certainly pulled a wool over her mother's face.
She wants to be free of me - so be it!
But after I'm gone my sisters will be tortured by the Junejas - right in front of my eyes I have seen the way Prem treats Heer. I really don't know of Preet but I can't risk her life.
Meher and Heer's lives are in danger I'm taking them out.
Nihal moves towards his sister Heer. He tells her looking at her in the eye "Heer lets go from here. There is no place for you or Meher or Me. What I say is considered as a lie. I have seen what Prem has done to you just now and I don't know what will happen to Meher if we left her here. No more relationship with this family. Lets go. Don't bring anything as nothing from here belongs to you."
He turned to Meher and asked her to give her hand silently. She looked terrified and he understood her fear.
Nihal: Meher Preet may be or may not be a nice guy but in front of his mother he cannot protect you from his mother. She hates you and Heer right now. Lets go I will not leave you alone.
Preet looked shocked. Nihal really didn't bother with anyone and turned to see Bauji.
He folded his hands and looked at him. He could see questions in Bauji's eyes.
Nihal: Bauji thank you for all that you've done for your friend's children. Heer and Meher came here without anyone and they suffered and have been tortured. I thought after Prem marrying Heer she will be taken care of. As you see right in front of your eyes how Prem treats his wife and I fear for Meher. Please forgive me if I have hurt you.
I honestly don't need to give any explanation to anyone else here as none of them respect me at all.
Preet: Nihal..Jiju
Nihal: Preet I fear for my sisters life in your house. They will be tortured and I want them to live. My parents asked me to take care of them and until my last breath I will do that.
Preet: But I
Nihal: No Preet you will not be allowed to do anything even if you wanted to. That is how your house is.
G3 : Who gave you the right huh to talk to my son this way? He hasn't done anything to you?
Nihal: g3 madam your treatment towards my sis Heer is enough for me to realise what will happen to my youngest sis Meher. Your daughter is a prime example to show me how daughter in laws in this house are treated. She insults Meher and Heer at every opportunity she gets until today. I have absolutely nothing to tell you. It was a grave mistake to agree to marry your spoiled brat of a daughter when you were mourning for your step son's supposed death. My sis Heer worked day and night, sleepless nights she spent taking care of entire family - for what? To get blamed / insulted / accused of lying?
In your vegetative state you didn't seem to mind what is happening around you - what made you change mind now accusing my sister and me and perhaps my youngest sis Meher?
Nihal saw g3's eyes flaring and lips twitching. He knew her anger will burst out so he decided to not to waste any more of his time and held both his sisters hands and left the house!
