Helllooooo Peepz and Peepsiez!
How are we all....?
Well well well.... I'm back from Medlink and it sure was a greaaaat experience... I've got sooo much to tell u all! .... sorry if u get bored by reading my diary here! lolz.... but i had so much to say to u all.... but...let me warn u... all those light-hearted ppl plz dont read forward of this point... things get gross and very disturbing to my squeamish friends here.

I had to get up at 4am.... 😕... anyways... I got there at 9:30am.... then there was an Oxbridge session (10:30am-1:30pm) for those students who want to apply to Oxford or Cambridge Universities to study medicine. the oxbridge session finished late which meant i missed my lunch😡😡. Then there was an exhibition from 2:30pm-4:00pm where there were lots of universities and organisations offering careers in medicine.... got lots of brochures and prospectuses from there....😉 and my bag got realllly heavy.
Then there was a realllllllllly reallly funny lecture. it was basically introducing us to the medlink-what its about, what we'll see, what we expect to take away from it all blah blah blah... but the guy who gave the lecture was mindblowingly amazingly funny....
Then i had another lecture. and another one after that. and then one last one for the day. Uffffffffffffff the last one was sooooo .... ummmm... have no words... it was good but very gross.... i mean the guy gave a presentation on things we'll see 1ce we become a doctor.... (broken limbs/ bones poking out of the skin/ lots of blood&gore etc etc...: if u just said 'ewwww' or 'yuk!' then remember: i told u not to read forward...😆)
finished at 10:00pm... and finally had a sip of water (i hadnt eaten or drank anything since 4am.... i was sooo gonna faint... or mayb even starve to death. god saved me...😆)

Eid.... but unfortunately couldnt celebrate it in the usual way...
this was the bect day of my life.... 9:15am... 1st lecture.... LIVE SURGERY..... 😃... yep guys, i witnessed LIVE surgery... we got to see a surgery being performed on a guy to remove a cyst from his lower back.... basically- it was a surgery of the spine. and it was woweeeeeeeee..... we saw what was happening on a massive screen and the surgeon was telling us what he's doing at each stage... we could also ask him questions and he'd answer them....😳😳😳 it was the best moment of my life!😃
then i had 6 different lectures... too boring to go thru all of them.
agen finished at 10pm---- but did have small snacks in between.

we had 8 diff lectures. two were exciting others made me go to sleep. there was one where a prosthetic surgeon gave a lecture on what prosthetics is all bout.... and she was telling us how a little boy's teacher called her to say could you fix the artificial arm to him permanently... when she asked the teacher why she wants tht... the teacher replied: at breaktimes the little boy (5 years) keeps on taking off his artificial arm and hits people across the head!😆😆😆 i found tht really funny... but awww tht lil boy ws sooo cute n small n innocent... i cant imagine him whacking people with a silicon arm!😆
oh and another one was the guys we had on the first day... yep the funny one.... only in this lecture he made four people fall off their chairs!! he was saying... if u cant decide if sum1 is a boy or girl.... observe: if there are two boys in the corner, they'll grunt at each other.... and that'll be a full conversation.... and if they are two girls, they'll shriek at each other as if they;'ve met fir the first time....but they wud hav know each other for years and years.... and he was saying how if one girl wnts to go to the washroom she;'ll invite all her friends.... and they'll all follow ... even if they go for different reasons😉....makeup/toilet./ hair etc....
anyways....

first lecture was on Accident & emergency medicine (A&E).... this was the most gross lecture of all... the presentation was wicked!!!!!! 😕😕people stuck under trucks.... people with dislocated limbs... there was even a woman who dislocated her neck... and had to hold it up to prevent it rolling off!... and there were people who chopped off their fingers/ legs/ arms in an accident (one guys finger got stuck in a lawnmower and had to be amputated) etc etc..... i wont carry on...
there was a surgeon, he studied medicine for 5 yrs, then trained as a surgeon, then a specialist consultant surgeon ... he had studied for almost 20 years.... and what happnd was that he was cutting bushes in his home with an electric saw... and he slipped and his right arm got cut off.... and it had to be amputated.... so obviously he couldnt perform surgery with just one arm.... which meant he had lost 20 years of hard work and study...😭 i felt soooo sorry for him... was virtually crying😭😭😭]

i made lots of new friends....& i made a friend called Lois! (yes lois_lane WAS the first thing tht came to my mind!!!😆)
and overall... it was a greattttt experience........
missed u all lots....soooooooo kyaa hwaa.... anything new in dmg,,, wheres the story got to so far!
