She wasn't in her senses. She was just hesitating and I think she got some what scared when she saw that fire and started crying, it may have a connection with her past life. Because she is a brilliant actress and there must be a reason if she had done that. 😊

Soumya didn't seem to be pretending. She was scared by the fire. And at some points, she got touched by the wedding ritual in a sub-conscious way. I guess it was shown that way to indicate that between Rudra and Soumya, it's Soumya who gets a little emotional about the wedding rituals even at a sub-conscious level whereas Rudra was completely enjoying and taking it easy the entire time.

I personally think that Soumya did this in order to save Rudra from Rumi. She probably knew what was going on and maybe she didn't stop this in order to help Rudra in escaping Rumi and the forced marriage... But it would be nonsense because of her constant laughing 🤣
