Confusion about ADHM. (Spoiler Alert)

What is the end of ADHM. i dint get it. it felt abrupt . does alizeh die?

Yes she dies but it is not shown on screen. And they edited out the role of the father. I think that was good because otherwise it lets there be a continuity in his being upset all the time during his visit and then his breakdown at her wedding. Otherwise it would have been the typically melodramatic "he loves her and so is getting her married to the guy she loves" thing.
