Farhan Akhtar threatened by MNS for refusing to pay Rs. 5 crores; more

Clearly threats to celebrities has become the new hobby of politicos in the country. The latest target is Farhan Akhtar. Of course, just a few days ago it was Karan Johar who was on limelight for casting a Pakistani artiste in his film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He was literally hurled by protestors and even received various threats for casting Fawad Khan in his movie. Finally, a meeting was held with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, producers of ADHM and Mukesh Bhatt, post which a promise of safe release and a donation of Rs. 5 crores to the Army was decided upon. Word in the industry soon started doing the rounds that it was under pressure that KJo gave in to the deal as Thackeray asked to assure them that it won't happen again.

The case with Ae Dil might have resolved as the state had a smooth release of the film. However, this problem is going to crop up again, courtesy Shah Rukh Khans Raees. We all know pretty well that after so many, like MANY delays, finally the film is going to release next year but here's another peril it might face soon. Thanks to producer Farhan Akhtar's statements on KJo being forced to shell out Rs. 5 crores and his refusal of the same, Raees might hold a lot of backlash. You see, the film stars Pakistani beauty Mahira Khan, after all. Basically MNS has announced that every film that has a Pakistani artiste should shell out Rs. 5 crores to the Army Welfare Fund.

A report on Mid-Day had MNS cine wing president Ameya Khopkar stating, "Release nazdik aane do phir dekh lenge (Let the film's release come closer, we will look into it). By the way, where were these people when the decision of donating Rs 5 crores was taken? Suddenly everyone is waking up." In the recent past, Farhan divulged his views about how the demands made by MNS are wrong and he won't be giving in to them. "There is no question of paying any money as the Army has itself denied any money which seems extorted from the producers," News18 quotes him as saying. He even quoted to Indian Express, "It's not even the government telling you what you should be doing and not doing. So who are you listening to? You are listening to the people who are threatening you with violence."

The film is slated to release in 2017. Already the Shah Rukh Khan starrer has fallen in various potholes of perils ever since the production has started. Being one of the most awaited films of SRK, fans are eagerly waiting for next year. But with the constant bullying of politicos with respect to their films' release.
