The nation wants to know! Facts and figures on the opening day especially the opening show do not lie. 😉

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Opens Well - Shivaay Lower
Friday 28 October 2016 11.30 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has opened well at the box office despite the clash with Shivaay. The initial is around 35-40% on average which is actually good if you consider its pre Diwali. The film is being led by the high end multiplexes and some of these even managed to take a 50% start. If it was a normal day it would be putting up a strong first number as city youth has come initially but with pre Diwali its hard to tell how much of the evening audience will come out. The anti Pakistan wave across the country does not seem to have affected the film. There was a similar type of issue when the Shahrukh Khan starrer Dilwale released and markets like North, Central and Gujarat under performed very badly. Here North and Gujarat seem fine while Central was anyway not expected to be good for this type of film. Though the weekend and Monday collections will tell more.

>

Shivaay has taken a lower opening at around 25% as its business at multiplexes in most parts of the country is lower than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The film despite being an action film is hit much more than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil by pre Diwali as the mass markets remain very low till Monday. The Muslim mass centres in places like UP and Gujarat could have opened better as they are less into Diwali festivities but the film has a name like Shivaay which probably takes some of the audience away in these centres. The film will find it tough going until the audience comes back at these mass centres on Monday and then teh film will need the reports to be good enough to get the full benefit of the big holiday period.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Has Good First Day
Saturday 29 October 2016 13.00 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil did good business on day one with 13 crore nett apprx despite it being pre Diwali. The opening in the morning was the third best of the year after Sultan and M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story while the first day collections have come in the fifth highest of the year as due to Diwali festivities the normal evening jump in collections was not there. The film has scored very well in Delhi city and East Punjab even though it is pre Diwali with Mumbai city also doing very well. The best collections are in South India with Nizam / Andhra and Mysore doing excellent business and both getting the third highest opening day figures of the year.

The mass markets of UP, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Bihar are lower and in these markets the film is lower than Shivaay though some of the big centres in these markets like Lucknow, Nagpur and Indore have grossed higher than Shivaay. Looking at which areas have performed best on day one it would normally mean a big jump on the second day for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil as high end multiplexes are having best occupancy but that may not happen as it is pre Diwali. The film will clearly out perform Shivaay over the weekend but even though it will put up a healthy weekend total it is still dependent on how high it can go on Monday.

But Fawad barely has a role people got to know only after the opening day/shows. Uske pehle kaise pahunch gaye yeh kambakht India ke log? Especially when there was a Shudh non Pakistani film Shivay also playing in cinemas.
And lets keep your soldiers yeh soldiers woh out ok? I am sick of your convenient whining for soldiers when it comes to Fawad and defense when it comes to Katrina's silence on the same issue.

Another article on how media made it a Fawad film:

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil And Shivaay Advance Booking
Thursday 27 October 2016 13.00 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

The advance results of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay are not up to the mark for such big releases but that is expected due to Diwali. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has taken a good lead at multiplexes in the bigger centres while Shivaay is ahead in smaller cities. The overall lead is healthy for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil mainly because there is a trend of more advance in the big centres and the advance of Shivaay started in large on Wednesday as against Monday of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. This would suggest a better opening day number for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil but there is the factor about the how the on the day audience behaves as there is an anti Pakistan stance in the country and the media has done a good job of making this Ranbir Kapoor starrer look like a Fawad Khan starrer though he may hardly be in the film.

The problem with Shivaay is that its best areas are hit by pre Diwali much more than the best markets for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Places like UP, Gujarat, Bihar, CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan are affected hugely by pre Diwali and only really start collecting from Monday onward. Shivaay is still looking to collect more than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in these areas but the margins are going to much less than if it was a normal period. The advantage for Shivaay is that is the potential to jump more on Monday than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil as these circuits will have huge growth on Monday but reports will have to support. South India is hardly affected by pre Diwali and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has a bigger draw down there and could be double of Shivaay in Mysore. Delhi and the big cities of Punjab are also better for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil but these markets will also come to the fore on Monday.

Actually both films should have been released on Monday but with a clash it is harder as both parties have to agree as you can't have one on Friday and the other Monday because theatre bookings are for a week and the Monday film would have had issues getting the optimum screens.

If collections go as the advance then Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will have the lead for the first three days but Monday is the day when the crowds come back and the film leading on that day will go on to do better business.

This pop up of right wing fanaticism and bigot perception is quite amusing since last few years.
Since last when people consider and tell others of watching a movie a patriotism , national anti national etc. I cant recall this thing used to happen in past.

If u dont watch dilawale - nationalist , if u watch dilwale - antinational ,same for future project dangal bcoz may be they are proving they are so tolerant lol

If u watch ADHM u are anti national , watch shivaya u will be patriot

watching movie , listening song for every thing there are lots of people who are now a days distributing certificate, that too in the name of people.

Bhad mai jaye tumhara certificate , pls keep it with u😆

Fawad doesn't have much role in ADHM . His scenes are heavily edited . People who didn't know Fawad couldn't figure out what was hoopla about such small role?

Well AD/Kjo made ADHM look like a Fawad film to get more controversy which definitely backfired for AD and worked for Kjo.

The point is people went to see the movie despite the fact that a Pakistani star was in the movie. For how long was not known until then.

the hoopla was not abt how small or big the role was, the hoopla was about him being in the movie.

dnt know abt mood of nation bt my city n the place i watched it
received adhm with thunderous claps..there were loud whistles
for ranbir n more at Fawad's entry..bt needless to say loudest
at srk's entry 😆
bt the last 15 min the hall was stunned to silence..n most of us
were crying n i was cursing kjo for ruining the beautiful built up..
Fawad was hardly there..the much ado abt nothing prediction
came true..had kjo nt continued his love for death scenes this
movie had every potential to draw in repeat audience..bt
he ruined his own creation with that ending..yes it did feel
like kjo was show casing his entire body of work..till date ..
yet ranbir n anu's freshness n chemistry did nt make it look stale..😳

This is such a "jale pe namak chidakna "thread😆😆

@Bazigar-" right wing thickos"were what the Brexiters were called in one of the comments on Brexit and that term does seem to apply to right-wingers everywhere.

No one supports the barbaric actions of the Pak army, however most Indians are smart enough to know the difference between a Bollywood movie and what's happening at the border.
