Rakhi dropped from Balaji awards event after making accusations about Nach Baliye
It is learnt that Balaji has decided to drop Rakhi Sawant from their first television awards gala to be held on January 25 in Dubai. Take that! Ekta Kapoor and Rakhi Sawant
This is apparently due to Rakhi's outburst about the alleged rigging of the results on Nach Baliye and her open questioning of Ekta Kapoor's interference in the results
Wild call
Says a Balaji source, "Rakhi was to host one segment of the show.
But after her wild allegations against Ekta who she accused of favouring Aamir and Sanjeeda, Balaji decided to drop Rakhi from the event."
Says Ekta, "I wouldn't really know the details of the show since they are being handled by Bunty Walia and the Moranis. But yes, if my company has taken a policy decision I am with them."
Shah Rukh Khan has finally said yes to a performance and will apparently be accompanied by the Balaji breakaway bahu Smriti Irani herself.
Letting go
"The idea is to set aside all rancour. So it isn't just Smriti who's being invited to perform, we're also asking Iqbal Khan and Rajiv Khandelwal to join us on January 25," says the Balaji source.
