Aamir Ali doesn't want Sawant's antics to spoil his victory

2007 will go down as the year when controversies took the zing out of reality shows. First it was Prachi Desai's wild card entry and her dramatic win on Sony's Jhalak Dikhlaa Ja that ruffled feathers of other contestants, and now it's Rakhi Sawant's wild allegations that Star Plus rigged the results of Nach Baliye 3.

Calling it a sham and a complete joke, Rakhi refuses to accept that whatever she's doing, is a publicity stunt. She has gone to town shouting out how she is the actual winner and not Aamir and Sanjeeda.

Are you upset with Rakhi's allegations that the show was rigged ?
I find this extremely silly. I am not rich enough to buy over Star Plus. I don't want to add fuel to this talk. I would rather soak up all the love and adulation I am getting.

Your reaction to Rakhi walking out after the results?
I was disappointed. I think there needs to be grace and respect for the platform Nach Baliye provided to us. I think Rakhi should have kept her dignity and accepted the results in the right spirit. I understand she was upset, and all of us were highly emotional. But at the end of the day I've always maintained that may the best man win.

Do you think it's a case of sour grapes?
Well, I don't want to comment on what she thinks. From the very first day I've decided to focus on my performance and I think that's why I've won the trophy. But yes I think it's insulting to walk out.

Have you spoken to her after the show?
No, why would she call me? I don't see any reason.

Finally, how do you plan to celebrate the victory?
I've returned back to work and started shooting for my daily show. I can't thank the fans enough. Their belief and support has given me this win.

Why aren't you taking your ouster in the right spirit?
I can't because the channel has fooled me. I stand by my opinion that I should have won Nach Baliye 3.

It's obvious that you are doing this for publicity.
How can you say that? I have worked so hard for this show. Both Abhishek and I have made huge sacrifices. Did you see me on stage; I was literally shivering.

But, it looked like you already knew you had lost…
Yes, I knew the results four hours before Salman opened the envelope and took their name.

How's that possible?
Our voting lines had closed four hours before the results were announced. Star Plus has paid lakhs to people in call centres to vote for Aamir and Sanjeeda. I know of a company who did flood voting for the other couple.

What's the name of this company?
I cannot take names.

Are you aware that such allegations can get you in trouble?
I don't care. I want to expose these gaddars. They used my name to get mileage and now have shown me the door. I believe Salman was upset with you for not showing the sporting spirit
Yes, he came out to call me back. But I had already left the studio by then. I respect Salman a lot and didn't want to say anything in front of him.

What's your course of action?
I don't know. I am exhausted and tired. I think Star Plus should rename the show to Star Baliye, so only their actors can take part and win. I will never take part in another reality show. It has been the worst experience of my life.
