Our Bollywood celebs to TV stars, everybody is busy glorifying this tradition.

But, our very own favourite Mrs. Funnybones, aka Twinkle Khanna feels that staying hungry the whole day has nothing to do with someone else's long life.

Her take on Karva Chauth will surely make you laugh.

Here's what she tweeted

Twinkle Khanna "@mrsfunnybones

These days by 40 u could be on the way to your 2nd marriage so what's the point of fasting-don't need the men to last that long anymore:)

Twinkle Khanna "@mrsfunnybones

That is a possibility-so I checked longevity records-100 countries where men without anyone fasting for them live longer than Indian men:) https://twitter.com/amitkhemka1982/status/788621818269671424 ...

i think it is lady's personal choice. my dad never forced my mom but she keeps it bcoz she loves it.. i dont know y these intellectuals think their opinion n views r so superior to others? in the end it is woman's personal choice whether she likes to keep it or not. so keep ur advice to urself... it doesn't makes one regressive if she or he wants to keep it🥱

Dont celebrate Holi- save water (becoz poora saal water waste karke sara pani Holi pe hi bachana h)

Dont celebrate Diwali - Pollution free country ( Pollution bas Diwali ko hi hota h)

Dont celebrate Karwa Chauth- Be a feminist or watever name these intellectuals are giving to this .

Stop celebrating Hinduism or stop being a Hindu:- It's a menace of everything. After that u will become a secular intelligent intellectual. 🥱

I agree with her. I've never understood this utter nonsense of keeping a vrat for the husband etc. I like a few of my relatives who keep a fast for their wives too. When asked why, one of them said, "what will I do living so long if she isn't there, so let me keep one for her too." 😆

It's a partnership. Should be equal.

There's also something known as Sakat Chauth which is a fast that mothers (in some part of north India) keep for the long life and health of their children... they keep the fast for the love of their children and that feeling in itself is reason good enough for the fast... waise bhi 1 din kya maa to kitne bhi din bhookhi reh leti hai apne bachhon ke liye, without even caring for any logic in such fasts... ⭐️
