Sigh. It's 2016.

The portrayal of the stereotypical sex-starved horny gay man who thirsts for inappropriate touches from the straight macho guy is SO. OLD. And cringey af. And incorrect to the highest degrees.

I love this show. But this scene was unnecessary and hurtful. I'm tired of the 'take it as a joke it's funny' excuses. It's not. It's 2016. The country is finally making some progress on this front. I hope the CVs don't do sht like this again.

Thank you for saying that. I am so done with stereotypical portrayal of gay men, they are normal, just like any of us. And stereotyping them isn't funny, or amusing. Bollywood/ Telltywood seriously needs to man up and realise that it isn't funny, its stupid and insulting

^ Thank you. Would it be funny if that was a woman sitting there leaning into those not-appropriate-for-a-workplace-conference-room touches and mumbles over the top desperate dialogues and stands up and applauds the guy for touching her? No, right? I feel creeped out even writing that. I was so put off by the whole scene. IT. IS. NOT. FUNNY. Jokes can be made without them being at the expense of an already ridiculed community that deserves to be treated like everyone else.

So well said. All gay jokes make me sick, they always stereotype or gay characters are treated as comic relief, a character without any substance and that makes me so annoyed. Like you said, this community need support, it needs reassurance not jokes and ridicule. That whole scene made me uncomfortable, hell gay laws in India make me sick. I wish we could more forward but at this rate we never will.

The stereotype is so hard to drop these people might be using it to amuse us in 2026.
So good of you to point out!

the gay part really put me off
no offence to gay people

okay i get it that they want to make the show modern but why bring in gay relevance stuff

and they are being stereotypical about gay people like men get horny when a guy touches them and they act like girls, gay people do act normal aswell

The gay community boasts of incredibly creative people worldwide. The fashion and entertainment industries owe a lot to them. So, showing a gay character heading a fashion brand is very realistic. And positive representation is very important.

But scenes such as today's are equivalent to a hundred steps backwards. Sleazy, desperate, horny 24/7. Does a heterosexual girl behave so? Then why would a gay guy? Such scenes only generate disgust and ridicule. And cheapens them, and reduces them solely to their sexuality. And like I said above, would a character touch a female so inappropriately as if he was doing her a favor, so as to land a project?

CVs, if you can't be accurate and respectful, please don't touch topics you are ignorant about.

This show reeks of stereotypical shit in general but the way they'd placed the said scene as a comic relief was the pits.
