Hi guys I'm new to this forum. I haven't watched the show yet but intend to do so soon. Coming to whether the show is 25% history and 75% fiction, I think that perfectly fine as long as it makes sense. I guess the creators want this show to be in lines with Jodha-Akbar which is fine as long as its entertaining. Plus this isn't the first show where history is mixed with fiction.

Cgm on Imagine was on another level. It was a Sagar arts show. And Sagars are pros when it comes to historicals you know? Be it Prithviraj chauhan or Cgm, they are the undefeated kings in that genre.

I was so heartbroken when Imagine shut down. The protests that followed..I really hoped it would come on some other channel atleast.but it didn't happen.

All the actors in the show were remarkable.

I loved Ashish and Manishji in their respective roles. And even the guy who played Dhananand..i forgot his name.."dhirkit dhaa" haha

But here,it looks like the burden of the whole show has been put on Rajat's shoulders and ofcourse Shweta. She has been really pleasant as the princess. ( on a side note,her entry scene reminded me of the last shot in devdas,where Aishwarya runs across towards the gate. Smh)

Rajat is a champion of nuances. He's just so good at it. And I think that's his USP and that's what really clicks with him and historicals. Idk why people juat assume that since its a historical,you just have to have exaggerated expressions.

Arpit Ranka is too loud in this show. and Im not speaking of his voice. His expressions. He was so good in mahabharata its sad really.

I do not like this Chanakya. He's too dheela for me. Sorry. Manish ji was just a perfect fit for that role. He commanded attention towards him you know?

Chetan Hansraj is a welcome addition btw.haha. but I hope his role doesn't become comical as in Jodha Akbar,but it must be along the linea of bhimdev in Prithviraj Chauhan. rajat and chetans scenes in Prc were a treat to watch! Well written and well executed!

Anyway,subtlety is something Ekta will never understand. Everything just has to be OTT. Sigh.

Well, no one can match sagars when it co mes to this genre. Most actors if not all in their shows; fights, sets, are perfect. They are experts in it; and they create an adrenaline rush by natural fights; not computerised graphics. They chose best actors mostly; at least child ones (PRC & CGM; both child actors were more than perfect). For me, this Chanakya has nt matched up to standards. Manish ji had done a terrific job in CGHM. In fact, coming to Chanakya, there used to be a show on Doordarshan long ago (1991) which was made after long research on Chanakya. The title of show was Chankya and the lead actor Chandraprakash Dwivedi was the director as well as lead actor who played Chankya.(He is also director of movie Pinjar) Only these two Chanakyas have been ideal for me.

But since CN is made by Ekta I had no high hopes. Yet I am here 'coz I know Rajat wil make it worth watching. Coming to it, its unfair all responsibility has come to rest on only two actors; both fab: Rajat-Shweta. I hope Ekta utilizes hhalf of their talent at least. Since they seem not that supported by other things.

Hell, I was more than angry by computer graphics supported leaps and not natural training/fight scenes. I mean Ekta has Rajat and his calibre has already been proved in fight/such scenes in PRC. Better utilise calibre of actor than add graphics where not needed. Seemed too artificial.
