Why did Imtiaz Ali never repeat Kareena post-JWM?

😕 I really find it really strange that Imtiaz never repeated Kareena after the phenomenal success of JWM because not only it's Kareena's best film ever but Geet is also her most iconic character till date.

So any inside dope on why Imtiaz stopped taking Kareena in his films? He seems to be obsessed with Deepika, Alia and Ranbir(oh the irony!)

Imtiaz hardly repeats actors except Deepika and Ranbir. He's done 1 film each with Alia, Kareena, Saif, Abhay.

Now he's working with SRK and Anushka. So I don't think he's obsessed with any actor.

Imitaz didn't repeat Shahid also !!

Nor did he repeat Abhay deol and Ayesha Takia

Well..

LOVE AAJ KAL - the role was nowhere near as strong as Geet for Kareena to do it. It suited a newcomer like Deepika perfectly.

ROCKSTAR - she could hardly play Ranbir's love interest - plus the role was again not good enough to be the follow-up to Geet.

HIGHWAY - he wanted to cast his first heroine Ayesha Takia when he originally wanted to make this film a decade earlier - then when he restarted the project he considered Kareena, but by the time he made it Kareena didn't look 17 years old any more...

TAMASHA - again same issue of working with Ranbir.

THE RING - no idea about the role, will wait and see. But I know he's wanted to work with Anushka for ages.

geet is too iconic a character..
imitiaz has nothing half as much iconic
as her so probably he feels its wise enough to nt destroy the
memories of iconism by casting her in any random less iconic
character..
as it is after jwm no other movie of his has gt that much love
n respect.
