Kanya's Family Mystery

I really want to know whats the mystery behind kanya's family. they're not allowed to have candles in there house and it seems like they have a problem with fire. thats why before they said to kanya that she can't get married. i wonder what happened in the past and what the problem is. what do you guys think?
