Ladies, need I say any more why I was cautioning Sona to not try to be someone she was not just to please somebody?

We all know that Ishwari, regardless of how melt in your mouth candy sweet she was, only accepted Sona for Dev's sake or to maintain her Goddess status in his eyes, take your pick.
But the thing about Ishwari that bothers me the most that for every solution to every problem, her first instinct is to lie and deceive.
Now referring to today's episode.
The mask Ishwari was wearing since the wedding fooled Dev, Sona and quite a few people. But her actions were not consistent with her expression and her behaviour were not matching her intention.
Ergo, my over-active brain started ringing.
I have exceptional in-laws who genuinely love me. But even before they fell in love with me, they were respectful of my place in my husband's (then boyfriend's) life. May be that's why I can recognise deceit fast because I know how people behave when they welcome new members in the family from their heart.
One thing my mother always told me, the people who really wants your well being won't ever ask you to do something wrong. And if they do, they don't wish you well.
So while my antenna was quivering all along, I could not point my finger at Ishwari until she told Sona to lie and deceive someone who is her own in-law and someone she respects.
But Ishwari never moved from her character. She was deceitful and a lier and she still is. When was she ever a truthful honest person?
She treated Sona like a toy when she went to get her back in Dev's life and that hasn't changed.
Now Sona on the other hand is responsible for her own misfortune.
She was so eager to please her mother-in-law that she forgot who she is (which I also mentioned yesterday).
That's why Ishwari neatly trapped her today at Precap.
Sona darling, go visit your family. You need their warm hug and also need to pick up your brain from there.
Do you even realise that you are trying to turn yourself into Ishwari when you can never stoop to her level?
Your husband wants to spend time with you. The same guy you were dying to be with.
Then be with him.
Don't bother pleasing your mother-in-law. Even if you come up with a solution for World Peace, your mother-in-law will still not like you.
Well, there is one way she will not only like you, but love you. You can leave your husband to her and go far far away. Is that an acceptable option for you?
Get this into your head that you won't ever get both your husband and your mother-in-law's love at the same time. And you knew that before marriage. You just bought into her act because it came with Dev attached.
And you know what you are letting her do? You are letting her come between you and your husband and this time, it's you who is opening the door for her manipulation.
There are some very appropriate statement today.
Dev to Sona: Tum ab apne maike mein nehin ho.
Me: Trust me Dev, she will NEVER forget that as long as your mother is there.
Ishwari to Sona: Tum kabhi meri jaisi ban hi nehin sakti. To tum koshish hi kyun kar rahee ho?
Me: She is absolutely right. Sona, you can never stoop so low, be so deceitful like her. Why are you even trying?
Ishwari to Sona: Tum aajki ladki ho. Tumse yeh nehin hoga. Ek bahu banna badi sangharsh ka kaam hain.
Me: When she has mother-in-law from hell who has made her husband's house into a war zone, to sangharsh ka kaam to hoga naa.
Dev to Sona: Agar itna intezaar kar liya to thodi der intezaar aur kar lo.
Me: Inteha ho gayi, intezaar ki...
Aayegi naa suhag raat, is raat bhi...
Yeh humein hai yakeen...
Romance not happening...
Mummyji hovering bedroom mein bhi...
Ishwari to Sona: Is locker mein Dev ki kaam ka aur ghar ka papers rehta hai. To chabi mere paas hi rehne do. Jab chahiye maang lena.
Me: Sure. Locker in in wardrobe, wardrobe is in your married son's bedroom. If you don't keep the keys, how would you snoop around in his room? That is inconvenient.
Of course an illiterate person like you needs the key to Dev's office and house papers. How would a doctor, who handles her patient's confidential file on daily basis, will know how to keep important documents?
Ishwari the butcher: Bhaiya, Bhabhi aur Main yeh vrat rakhne wale hai nau din ke liye.
Sona the lamb: To meh meh bhi yeh vrat rakhungi.
Ishwari while shining her knife with fake concern: But you just got married. How would you keep the vrat?
Me: Sona, apni sasuma ki bhavnao ko samjho. After all since you won't eat, you won't get energy to keep her son happy naa and then I will complaint about Dev's stamina. Ishwari apne Dev ki "izzat" ke liye kuch bhi kar sakti hain.
If I was Sona, I'd have said: Well, then I should ask Dev if he is okay being away from me for 9 days. Like you said today that I should not try to do things that is not my expertise. From now on, I will stick to the things I am good at, like keeping my husband happy.
But Sona being the lamb, I can bet, will just extend her lovely delicate neck for Ishwari to sacrifice for Maata Rani.
I felt really sorry for Dev today. The poor thing is trying to find some moments with his wife. But more than his mother, his wifey is road blocking him. He already had a neurotic superstitious mother. He doesn't need an equally superstitious wife. He did not marry a puja path wali bahu.
Dev will come running from Haridwar and will find instead of his hot wifey, his mama-wanna-be is waiting for him.
That's why I said, don't try to be someone you are not. Maintaining a facade gets more and more difficult as time passes and Ishwari, unlike Dadi Bua, is not "do dinki mehman".
