I want to start by saying I give no preferential treatment and give my opinion on an actor by their work and off screen persona in case you decide to spring on me because of this comment. Also, DP was amazing in Piku for me.

Now, coming to your reference: Deepika would never have the balls to say anything quite similar. She is way too diplomatic to even try and give a reason for why she would refuse a movie. At least Anushka is honest about what she felt at that time. The fact that she says she still wants to work with Imtiaz should say a lot about that. A lot of people appreciating that here, are talking about the honesty, and not merely about the context of her answer. She didn't pull anyone down, she talked about not wanting to do a hero-centric movie, even though it wasn't all that particularly. Deepika would have brushed it off saying she had not dates or something similar, one of the varied reasons I like her less off screen. There is too much of superficiality, which I suppose, comes with the nature of the job, but still...
