CHARACTERSKETCH
THAKUR AMARDEEP SINGH KHURANA (Dadaji) :
78yr. old Chairman of Khurana Industries i.e. Khurana Constructions, Khurana Hospitals, Khurana Hotels etc. but has now given day to day resposibilities to his son, Ramnath Singh Khurana but he still had the final say in all the major decisions as he is still the Chairman Of Khurana Industries. He is a man of strong believes,character and tradition. He belongs to a village near Hoshiayarpur in Punjab. Although he is modern & moving with times in his business i.e. learning to use now-a-days techonology but still traditional in personal life i.e. wearing traditional patiala salwaar suit at home and having his traditional Pind's cuisine at home etc. He and his wife, Savitri Devi are close friends with Lala Gurucharan Singh Handa and Jaswant Singh Handa as they are from same village. But they have not met Handas for past 7 years. Last they met Handa's was the day Maan rejected Geet for her speech impairment.
SAVITRI DEVI KHURANA (Dadimaa)
75yr. old. She is still heading Charitable Institutions and Trusts. She is also Chairperson of newly inaugrated Khurana Foundation (KF). She is close friend of Jaswant Singh Handa (Jassi), Lala Gurcharan Singh Handa's wife. Last Amardeep and Savitri Devi had spoken to Handas was the day Maan had met Geet and rejected her. Now both Amardeep & Savitri are too humiliated and embarassed by the behaviour of their grandson, Maan to go and meet Handas.
RAMNATH SINGH KHURANA (Ram)
58 yrs. old. One and only child of Thakur Amardeep & Savitri Devi. He is CEO of Khurana Industries & Head of Board of Directors of Khurana Industries i.e. Khurana Constructions, Khurana Hospitals, Khurana Hotels etc. He is a man of principles. He believes that every individual demands respect irrespective whether the person is rich or poor; dark or fair; able bodied or handicapped. He feels a person is known by his or her merit not by financial status, looks, race, caste and creed. He had immediately liked Geet as a future daughter-in-law of Khuranas, when he had seen her for the first time. But now he is very angry with his son for not only breaking an innocent girl's heart and self esteem but also is angry at Maan for being the the cause of his parents (Maan's grandparents) leaving their home and business. Hence, Ram has not spoken to Maan for past 7yrs. Except in office as a CEO of Khurana Industries.
JANAKI SINGH KHURANA
55yr. old. She is predominantly a housewife but in spare time is involved in Housekeeping and Food Preparation Departments of Khurana Hotels. She has two sons- Maan & Vicky! she always wishes that she had a daughter! Like Thakur Amardeep Singh, Maan is also an apple of her eye. Although she was very angry with Maan's behaviour in front of Handas. But after cooling down, she tried understanding Maan's point of view regarding arranged marriage with Geet. Being a mature lady and having seen the world, she doesn't agree with Maan's point of view but she is willing to give him benefit of doubt! She is the only one aware of Maan's liking for a girl with beautiful voice or as she refers to her as "Kokila".
MAAN SINGH KHURANA(MSK)
35yr. old. Future heir of Khuranas. He has a degree in Bachelors of Architecture as well as MBA degree. CEO of Khurana Constructions world wide. His office is at Khurana Constructions Headquaters in Delhi. He is the future whole and sole owner of Khurana Industries. As Vicky is not interested in business and construction company. Maan is very loving & soft towards his family. Maan was favourite of his Dadaji among all his grandchildren including Vicky. Maan feels somewhere guilty for being the cause of making his grandparents move to their village, thereby loosing his grandparents love due to his one moment of loosing his temper and cool. As after the incident in Amritsar 7yrs.back, Maan's Dadaji has stopped talking to Maan and has not set a foot in Khurana Industries and Khurana Mansion. Maan has gone umpteen number of times to their village to apologise and bring his Dadaji and Dadimaa back home but it was of no use.
Maan is tall, handsome youngman with chiselled jaw line having sexy stubble & well toned body with 8pack abs. He is very idealistic in work and in life giving no importance to one's feelings and emotions. For Maan there is only black & white (good & bad) but no shades of grey! He is very particular about rules and regulations set by him or Khurana family even at expense of other person's happiness, they have to be followed! He is extremely impatient, short-tempered, arrogant, insensitive, rude and a PERFECTIONIST. Due to excess of work responsibities and his inflexible temperament he has still not got married at the age of 35. Although he is not a "ladies man", but girls and woman cling to him for his looks, money and fame! He doesn't mind it as he feels that they are an arm-candy and good for his image. He has never been attracted to any girl, except once. He fell in love with a sweet, melodious but painful voice he heard 7yrs. back.
VIKRANT SINGH KHURANA(Vicky)
30yrs old. Fun-loving, jovial & a prankstar. He works in Khurana Hotels as the head of Food and Beverage (F&B) department. He loves to party and have a nice time. He is a big flirt but soft hearted! He can even flirt with his Maa and Dadimaa. He has lot of friends who are girls and women but "no girl -friend"! His life has also changed after the incident in Amritsar 7yrs. back as now he is the only point of communication between Thakur Amardeep Singh and Maan. The family is pressurizing him to get married as they have been disillusioned by Maan's behaviour regards his marriage!
PARVATI CHOPRA (Pari)
25yr. old Maan & Vicky's cousin bua's daughter. A person of strong likes & dislikes. Very particular about fashion and her looks but extremely soft hearted. Maan loves her like a real sister and spoils her rotten as he can't say "NO" to her! Pari also can do anything for Maan. She very possessive about Maan doesn't like anyone who criticises him.
Last but not least our favourite,ADITYA MALHOTRA (ADI):
32yrs. old. He is Head of Accounts department. Very close friend of Maan! His father was loyal employee of Khuranas. After his father's death, Khurana's employed him. He is very loyal to Thakur Amardeep Singh Khurana and Khurana industries. Adi can do anything for Khuranas especially, Maan. Maan trusts him the most professionally & personally. Adi is aware that there has been a major disagreement between Thakur Amardeep and Maan but he doesn't know what it is? Adi is extremely close to Khurana family and refers to elders same way as Maan and Vicky do!
LALA GURUCHARAN SINGH HANDA (DAARJI):
79yr. old. Geet's grandfather. He is fairly well known businessman of Amritsar. He owns Handa textiles. His family has good financial status in Amritsar but not as much as Khuranas. He has a close friend cum neighbour, Thakur Amardeep Singh Khurana. As they both are from same village near Hoshiayarpur(Punjab). He now is a broken man and has lost his ability to talk since his "Geetu" disappeared. He sits near the doorway or a window, seeing with vacant eyes and waiting for his Geetu to return.
JASWANT SINGH HANDA (JASSI / BEEJI)
77yr. old. Geet's grandmother. She is a housewife and happy go lucky person. She is full of life trying to make Rudra, Abhi, Lucky, Geet and Rajji forget their harsh reality of life i.e. loosing their parents at young age. She has brought up Geet since age of 7yrs. She has not spoken much or joked for past 7years, since Geet & Rajji went missing. She has lost her smile since her "Guddo" (as she calls Geet affectionately) has gone missing.
RUDRA SINGH HANDA (Rudra):
36yrs. old. Rudra is the eldest son of Geet's Taiyaji i.e. Lalaji's eldest son, Joginder. Rudra is a very hard working young man and extremely religious in temperament. As his name suggests he is a true devotee of Lord Shiva and fasts every Monday! He has an aversion for girls as he considers women to deviate him from path of spirituality i.e. "True Brahmchari"! He is extremely handsome with well developed muscles as he works in fields! He is an Engineer by profession and prefers to develop machines which will aid farmers in agriculture. Though he has topped in B.E. from a reputed University of Punjab but he is very simple in his look and hence people often mistake him to be a simple farmer. As he specialises in machines for agriculture he is usually working in some village or the other. He has got many offers from US & UK but prefers to work in India. Very protective about his sister Geet. Seeing that his family was considered paupers by that Maan Singh Khurana due to their simple ways and attitude, he has taken an UN assignment in Holland, and has been away from home for past 2 years. He hates KHURANAS for humiliating Handas and Geet. As he was not around when Khuranas had come to meet Geet otherwise he would have taught a lesson or two to that Maan Singh Khurana. He has a rare but extremely violent temper.
ACP ABHISHEK SINGH HANDA (Abhi)
32yr. old. He is the second son of Geet's Taiyaji. He joined IPS 15yrs. back. He is undercover Black Cat Commando. He often goes on mission as "undercover" agent which only Rudra is aware but not rest of his family. His family only knows him as a Police Officer. His Daarji & Beeji are requesting him to get married but he refused saying that he will only marry when his sisters are back! He now stays away from his Daarji & Beeji as he is very angry with them and blames them for introducing his Gudiya to that Maan Singh Khurana. He hates Maan as he blames him for his sister Geet's disappearance. Despite of being a cop he has been unable to trace his sister much to his frustration!!

LAKHWINDER SINGH HANDA (Lucky) :
29yrs. old. Lucky is the youngest son of Geet's Taiyaji. As his name suggests he is a Happy go lucky fellow! Not at all serious in life. Despite of his Daarji & Beeji's continous scoldings! He is protective about Geet. His only interest is in gym i.e. body-building and eating. Although he loves body building and has two elder brothers with exceptionally well toned body but he is too scared to ask them to train him. Hence, he was impressed with Maan's body or "dole-shole" and was hoping for Maan and Geet's alliance to take place so Maan could train him. But after the episode 7yrs. back he is now happy that Geet did not get married to that rude, arrogant and snob, Maan Singh Khurana. Now he has the whole responsibility of Handa Industries and his grandparents i.e. Daarji and Beeji as his both elder brothers have left Handa Haveli. Though Abhi stays very near the Handa Haveli but not in the Haveli! Hence, for day to day Daarji and Beeji's looking after Lucky is only there.
GEETANJALI SINGH HANDA (Geet):
MISSING!! She was 18yr. old when last seen. She was apple of her Daarji, Beeji and her brothers' eyes. Geet was an extremely shy & sensitive girl. Geet had a problem in voicing her feeling due to her shyness and tragic childhood making her lack self confidence and self-respect. She lost her parents in a car crash and as she was the one and only witness of the car crash at the tender age of 7yrs. which impacted greatly her psyche. After witnessing the loss of her parents in front of her eyes, under any tense or stressful situation or if she is emotionally upset or if someone yells or screams at her she looses her voice! Due to her this hesitation both psychological & physical, people often mistook her for being"mute"! This weakness in her personality had caused her lot of pain and sadness in her life! But in reality, Geet was a chatter-box and if in front of people she is comfortable with i.e. family especially Beeji and friends, she can talk non-stop. Geet had a God gifted sweet & melodious voice making her a natural singer. Her Daarji and Beeji heard her God's gifted voice and got her formally trained in classical music and hence, she became a maestro in singing. In solitude she use to express her innermost feelings of happiness, pain and sadness in form of songs! Because of her speech problem she often remained quite, reserved and became an introvert. Thereby people around her started calling her "Sharmilee"or shy girl. The day Maan came to meet Geet for matrimonial purposes and then rejected her, broke not only her soft heart but her soul as well, as Geet had fallen head over heels in love with Maan after seeing his photograph and even more seeing him in person. But due to shyness and stress of meeting "her love" face to face for the first time, her voice refused to come out making Maan feel she is "mute". Hence, Maan rejected her without seeing her. Since the day after this incident she has disappeared and now no one has seen her for past seven years. Some people say she is no longer alive and some accuse her that she has run away with her boyfriend. As 7 yrs. have passed, Police are also soon going to close her missing person's file and proclaim her dead much to the anguish of Daarji, Beeji, Rudra & Lucky. Abhishek is aware of law enforcement's protocol & hence is unable to do anything!
RAJESHWARI MALHOTRA (RAJJI)
Missing! Was 16yrs. old when last seen. She is Geet's cousin bua's daughter. She Hero-worships Geet. She is staying with Daarji & Beeji. Rajji lost her mother when she was born, and as her father did not want a daughter, so Daarji & Beeji adopted her as just like they did Geet. Rajji had a brother who had got lost in a mela before Rajji's birth and till now no one is aware of his whereabouts! Although Rajji is daughter of Lalaji & Jassi's niece (Lalaji's Sister's grand daughter) but they love her as much as Geet. Rajji went missing since the morning after Maan had come to see Geet, whereas Geet went missing in the evening day after Maan rejected Geet. Hence, Rajji & Geet went missing same day.
BRIJESHWAR SINGH (Brij)
32 yr. old very distant cousin of Rudra, Abhi, Lucky and Geet. He comes from a small village near Hoshiyarpur. But his village is far from Lalaji's hometown. He is very rustic, rude and brash in dressing and behaviour. He has lustful intensions on Geet since he saw her. He wanted to marry Geet so he could have her beauty and her vast land which her father, Mohinder had bought in her name in Amritsar. Geet and Rajji are scared of him as he gives them the creeps! When they mentioned this to Rudra, Abhi and Lucky, they made sure that one of the brothers are always close to Geet and Rajji for their protection.
DR. NACHIKET KHANNA (Neil)
Neil is a handsome 50yrs. old man. He is among among one of the best cardiologist in US. He is Anamika's Professor. Anamika is one of his best students. Neil admires Anamika (Anna) not only because of her medical and professional skills but as a human being. He has often mentioned this to his wife Ragini. Nachiket and Ragini considers Anna as a daughter and often help her on the personal front.
MRS. RAGINI KHANNA
She is a 45yrs. old qualified trained nurse. She is married to Dr. Neil. She is an extremely traditional, righteous, no nonsense Indian mom. She also admires Anna just like Nachiket and often says that between Anna and their daughter, Nishi there is not much difference in terms of age. But whereas Anna is a widow with a child to look after but still she is focused in her studies, whereas their daughter is not at all serious in her life or studies!
DR. (Mrs.) ANAMIKA SINGH: (Anna)
25yrs. old. Holds a degree in MBBS & MS in Cardiology from New York. She is extremely confident and self-respecting girl. She is a US citizen (writer's liberty!). She is beauty with brains. She is topper of her batch. She is an upcoming Cardiologist. She is currently working as a full fledged doctor in St. Angel's Hospital, in New York (FICTITIOUS NAME). Anamika has a milky white complexion, long curly hair with doe-like hazel coloured eyes. She is extremely strict doctor so even nurses, ward boys and Junior doctors are scared of her. All male staff are attracted by her beauty but are scared to approach her as she is a widow and a mother. Presently she is engaged to Dr. Armaan Malik (Amy). Anamika and Armaan's engagement is a charade (which is only known to Anna and Armaan) so that Armaan can win his love, Riddhima and Anamika (Anna) can remain safe from unwanted male attention. She is mother of a six year old boy, as a mother she pampers and over indulges her son. She feels because of her son, Ayushmaan (Ayush) she has something to live for.
Although Nachiket and Raagini treat her like a daughter but in reality she is an orphan.
DR. MEERA GUPTA:
25yr. old. Junior Gynaecologist in Khurana Hospitals, Mumbai Branch. She is in love with Vicky but is hesistant to express her love as Vicky belongs to such rich and influential family. Besides Vicky has an image of being a Cassanova!
DEVDUTT BANNERJEE (Dev) :
33yr. old flamboyant womaniser. For him women are playthings. Everynight a new girl is in his bed. He comes from a rich and influential family but not as rich as Khuranas. He has extreme jealousy and has hatred for Maan. He tried to sweet talk Maan into doing a business project with him but Maan refused as he did not like Dev's underhand and dishonest ways. Dev has committed a lot of crimes but as there was never proof for his crime, the court had to acquit him. There is still a doubt in everyone's mind that whether genuinely there was no proof or he bribed his way into pockets of police and law personnel! He was smitten with Geet the moment he saw her at Golden Temple in Amritsar. He wanted to bed her, but was unable to come close to her as she was with her family members all the time!
PINKY MANCHANDA :
25yrs. old. Receptionist at KC. Very jovial, full of life & loves eating. Likes Adi but Adi considers her immature and irresponsible.
SASHA GUPTA : 26yrs. Old. She is Khurana's old and loyal Munishi Dayaram Gupta's daughter. She works as a Junior architect. She is very selfish and lazy in her work. Loves to boss her juniors! Her main aim is to marry one of the Khurana brothers and be the Queen and rule Khurana Industries.
