Hi all,
I watched today's episode - post Dev and Sona's maha wedding episode.

I must say - all the technicalities aside I feel Dev and Sona are not going to stay married. Hear me out guys - I feel Sona should have never married Dev - her original decision of moving on was absolutely correct.

Yes Dev is a nice guy, yes he's successful, handsome with a heart of gold - that's all great. What is not great is that he is emotionally immature, he's not in tune with himself and he doesn't really think for himself - he's essentially a Momma's boy - that is a HUGE red flag for me in a relationship. I find that to be a recipe for disaster.

Sona on the other hand - is much more balanced - she is smart, sensible, kind, patient and understanding. However she has been raised in a much more liberal enviornment where children are encouraged to think for themselves, make mistakes and learn from them.

What kind of marriage is this anyways - everyone is so grumpy - no one is truly happy - everyone is constantly walking on egg shells, its all so passive aggressive.

Sona was totally justified in confronting Dev and being angry after Ishwari's fainting spell - Sona is smart she is sensing that she is still not welcome in the Dixit household, she's the latest acquisition of business tycoon Dev.

How long is this going to last? Sona is clearly not being well received and how is this fair to her anyways - yes she's from a different community, they have cultural differences but where is the tolerance? Where is the compassion - why are cultural differences, food habits and all being magnified instead of magnifying what is truly important - Sonakshi as a person?

How dare Dev bring up his mother's "insult" - is he serious? He threw Sona out like a pair of old shoes with out a second thought - why because his mommy didn't approve of her. Then he didn't really do much to make amends - waited on his mother dearest to change her mind. If he really loved Sona - would he not have tried harder to stand up for himself and their relationship?
Ishawari herself was no less "insulting" towards Sona's parents.

IMO Dev and Sona has so much to work on in their relationship before jumping into matrimony. Marriage is not a catch all - it won't fix issues - in fact it'll make it that much worse.
Dev and Sona needed more time with each other to find their synergy - what are the core values that bind them, what sacrifices would they be willing and not willing to make - what is most important to them - individually and in their relationship. How are they going to resolve conflict - they needed to have more clarity and direction in their relationship - to be able to be a unit, to be able to stand united so that any conflict that comes their way - they can tackle together rationally without getting emotional and egoistic - because they have cultivated that baseline understanding.

I'm disappointed that these issues were not addressed, Dev's redemption was not properly depicted, I was hoping for a much more detailed introspection, much more vocalized apology and Sona's internal struggle - of wanting to be with this man she's fallen in love with but is struggling with herself to come to terms with his ruthless treatment. Dev needed to apologize PROPERLY to Sona's family BEFORE sending his mom there to ask for Sona's hand in marriage.

I'm disappointed with Sona also - for such a strong willed independent woman - she gave in pretty quick - I was hoping they would show her struggling more - being happy that Dev wants her back but at the same time extremely angry that he could just walk away coz mommy said so. I wanted to see a scene of where she talks to Dev and says - i love you but I'm not sure if I can trust you - you've disappointed me once, I don't know how to believe in you again.

At the rate they are going right now - I don't see this marriage lasting very long. Perhaps this is CVs grand plan - they didn't really think before jumping into marriage - no family is 100% happy - Sona's family is more anxious than happy, constantly fearing Dixit family will hurt Sona or not treat her they way she deserves to be treated. Perhaps all these meaningless cultural differences will drive a wedge between Dev and Sona to where Sona reaches a breaking point and walks out and THEN starts true redemption and Dev's introspection, Ishwari's introspection and then mission get Sona back - by working through their differences and establishing that understanding.

What say guys?

Though I detested the idea of a separation post marriage but I think that's exactly where this is headed.
Better that than a saas bahu kitchen politics.

My feelings exactly... Devs real.redemption is required for this love story to succeed. Probably it will come at a time when sons would be at the lowest. Till now dev has always admitted that sona is much stronger than him.

The above lines of yours sums up my feelings and thoughts to a T.👍🏼 Yes, the patch up is the main issue for me. Probably the main reason I am not happy with the current marriage track. I did not expect a consummation on their first night. Just watched the episode online and liked the DevAkshi fight as a matter of fact.

Blood is thicker than water. That's the bottom line. I totally accept that. It's a fact too. A bitter fact but a fact, nonetheless. He is going to support his mom more.. be obsessed.. or whatever you want to call it. But there has to be an emotional growth in this guy. You can't remain forever with an emotional quotient of zero. Especially when a person falls in love and goes through such painful separation, it changes that person at the core level. Priorities get rearranged. I am not saying he should become joru ka ghulam but he can't remain blind, deaf and dumb in public either. There is no character growth in Dev.

And yes, considering the way Sonakshi's character was sketched, I didn't expect her to give in to Dev post the break up. I expected her anger to lead to more introspection and introspection to confrontation and conversation.

Well, she didn't do that and has jumped in with both feet. Once she realizes marriage is not the solution or rather marriage does not equate - pyaar ki jeet, I do predict a separation. I would definitely prefer that to dragged on saas bahu kitchen politics. Nothing puts me off as much as that BS. I see more than enough real life scenarios and I don't need to spend another 30 minutes watching more of it on TV.

Totall agree, there has been no redemption at all for any of the characters. all the 120+ episodes were mere prologue to the main plot.

Sona did voice out that she is unhappy with Dev's loves for her, there is no mutual respect in their relationship and she is aware that he is mere toy in the hands of his mom. then how could she run into his embrace again !!!! she walked into the mess with her eyes wide open!. To me she is being a total hypocrite . she is in a state of " selective Vision" where she can see, comprehend and analyse things but for her convenience, she decides to turn a blind eye to them, and now she is trying to play a victim card.

on the other hand both Ishwari and Dev are still in the state of Denial . they are like if we don't see it then it does not exist ... how funny!!!

Ishwari just wants to make sure that she does not lose her importance in Dev's life. she wants to remain his GOD.

Dev can see the attitude of his family right from the start of kanyadaan, to their returning to his room after Ishwari's fisaco but heis clueless on how mend them. like he said, he has just laid his hands on the balance, he is yet to master the art of balancing it.

At any rate, i dont think there will be walk out from marriage scenario, there will be confrontations, a lot of bikering, mu's and hard feelings. but surely they will be no break up again.
Dev has already been there, he will not let Sona face it .

@bold this is what I am counting on... Dev not letting Sona go.. else all this I cannot live without you would be just that... words and nothing else...

Dev will lose all sympathy from me if he lets Sona go... No amoutn of Redemption can get him the respect again.

If everything is just perfect then definitely Life wud becum too boring...
On a serious note, just bcoz Dev's family is tough...Sona leaving him is not what should actually happen...isn't it??
It's about how to make imperfect relations at least near to perfection...
Sona and Dev both have a long way to go...
This soap is actually trying to show how to tackle such problems rather than running from them...Let's wait n watch...surely it's going to unfold it's colors nicely...
