For those who r Brahmins, veg kayasths, jainis ,this buffet point or arrangement is nt pointless. For them its an issue. Lehenga drama was ott.
Still cv's tried to handle the situation by involving mamaji ,then there was varmala scene.
Now ,if cv's think that they will be able make Ishu bechari again and good mother or mil , i guess its near to impossible. They have already butchered her character.

Kamal, the point I am trying to make is that though Bijoy acts stuck up sometimes, Asha is a very considerate woman. She would never let veg and non veg arrangements to be so close. If they have booked a palatial hotel for their daughter's wedding, won't they make appropriate arrangements for two sections of dinner instead of cramming everything in a tiny area? That's why it is illogical. Asha would never allow that. Boses were degraded so that they can show Eeshwari in a better light.

Exactly!.. I can't understand why some people is not trying to understand this fact... CVS deliberately degraded Boses to make Ishwari mahatma... That's what I hated to the core...

Again, my friend, you hit the nail on the head. I am Bengali Brahmin. But there are other types of Bengalis. So I can understand if they had made variations of the rituals. Like one of you asked me if the bride and groom is supposed to switch side or not. I am not sure about that. And even if I was, those were minor details.

What is offensive is when CVs changed the cultural norms to an illogical level to create drama...

Like you said, it did not matter if it was Mohammedan or Christian or what... At the end of the day it was about respect and not making caricature of a culture for TRP.

On the other hand, my date was excellent. The show was beautiful and we had Chinese for dinner also very good.

Wanna know a funny thing? If you ever travel out of India and order Chow mein, they will serve crispy noodles like chop suey. To get the soft egg noodles we all know and love, order Lo mein or ask for soft noodles. I did not know that until I came to Canada. Imagine my surprise when first time I ordered chow mein and got chop suey served. Lol...

First of all Big Hug to all the Bengalis here who was offended by what was shown.

I did not watch the episode..as I don't have a stomach for negativity especially in Wedding Sequence for in my belief Weddings are joyful despite whatever differences and a start of something beautiful.

I am not a Bengali but am a Tamil Bhrahmin..I think the point that I am trying to make it it is not about whether you are a Bengali, Bhrahmin , non Bhrahmin, green, blue, black or gray but about human emotions and that was what was slaughtered yesterday.

In reality I know that weddings are not always smooth there are always disgruntled guests, things that go wrong as food not good or enough for guests etc but this is a celebration time where despite differences be it of opinion, culture, norms etc people are happy and that essence of happiness was what we were all expecting and that was sorely missing or overshadowed . But what we got in the name of portraying cultural differences was total disregard of the culture that they were going to portray so it looked it it was all glitter the cheap kind and No Gold.

Being a Bhrahmin I know we do not serve non veg in our weddings and fish is a no no but why bring that up yesterday it was simply not needed so all I can deduce from this is that the writer who I think is Bengali himself has a twisted sense of right and wrong and the creatives used this platform to make a mockery of Bhrahmins too who knows why they chose Dev to be Bhrahmin he could have been Christian, sikh or Moslemon probably the same treatment would have been dished out.

Thanks Tia for letting me vent and hope you had a blast at your date

Forget Kal raatri, reception, pag phera... One wedding they could not manage. I have never seen such a hurried Haldi, Aashirwad, Engagement without even rings exchanged. Sona's Aashirwad with Ritwik was way better and so was her engagement including her outfits at that time.

From now on for the rest of their lives, they are at Ishwari's service.

Agreed, totally agreed. The episode was anything but enjoyable. I'm from UP but still I've this enormous charm for Bengali culture. The saaree, the rituals, the language.. It's all very intriguing. And hence I watched the episode just to see a Bengali wedding. I'll actually credit ekta for this. Kasauti got me hooked to Bengali culture for the lifetime I guess.😳

But this was atrocious. I liked the realistic shots of marriage but I missed the spark of a love couple. I don't know if anyone will agree, but damn I miss those desirable looks they had for each other during the initial phases. Not that I've watched all episodes but whatsoever I saw they were amazing. I wanted the varmala, shubho Drishti sequence to be a little longer. Dev's reaction had got me hooked and then bamm the sequence was gone. 🥱

Thought-out the episode all I could see was Boses and Dixits passing snide comments and angry glares to each other. I'm still not over the silly lehnga scene. It's like mazaaak mazaaak mein shaadi ho rahi.. Everyone is assuming convenient things. It was irritating. Sonakshi let me down. I can't believe that she wasn't aware of why lehenga was given to her..🥱.. She had seen Neha's wedding.

Long shots. The crass reaction to the Dhwani.. The kid crying was annoying. I wanted to slap him first for crying second for badly executed cry😆

Dramatic dialogues and who says all those things in the mandap.. Maayke se taar tootna and all that stuff.. And who says that I'm ashamed to call you my daughter in law.. Someone kill both garib ki beti and jaahil daadi😡

I wanted the leads.. Come on they are wonderful actors.. I remember the movie 2 States, the climax where both Alia and Kapoor show their relief, disbelief and even alia cries in emotion. I wanted, not exact, but at least some emotions from the leads. There was no close up on them. All the close up was on Mami, daadi and Bijoy's constipated expressions. Even the macchli got the limelight. And which agency gives away macchli on their own?. So much for social service, eh?

PS : I wanted to see kaal raatri.. Again blame it on kasauti.. 😆 I wanted to see the anurag- prerna eagerness on the leads of this show.

That's wat i m saying, now cv's have already done so much with Ishwari's character, how can they even think of showing her in better light...that's impossible...after pre nup drama ,we viewers have already make up our mind and for us Ishwari is a selfish and a possessive woman.
Sonakshi ko khud hi refuse kar dena chahiye tha non-veg rakhne ke liye...after all she is going to a brahmins house.
