I agree with all the things you pointed out.
Let me begin with the positive things of the episode:

A. I really liked the direction, the flow and the new cameras added a nice touch to the episode.

B. All the Devakshi scenes, that is the few scenes that were adjusted between the great war between Bengalis and Brahmins, were really great.
😆So true, their wedding was adjusted in the drama

C. Really liked the fact that Sona got gifts for her sister-in laws. That was thoughtful and sweet.

D. Nikki, Riya and Neha are amazing. They accepted Sona and her culture with open arms. Those three are the best sisters one could have. I wonder if they're really Ishwari's daughters.

E. 2 minute scene of the rituals after grahpravesh. That could have been longer. It was such an amazing scene.
Agreed, there was some very short good scenes but the overflow of drama spoiled it.

The negatives:

A. They booked a grand venue, got so many extras, took so much trouble to shoot a grand wedding and didn't use even 10% of it. Illogical.
Too much attention to venue and camera apparently made them forget to focus on the script and the couple.

B. Devakshi scenes were so less. It looked like the whole episode was dedicated to GKB, Mama, Bua, Ishwari, Asha. Let down.

C. Sona's reaction to the lehenga issue. She acted like she never knew what they were talking about. I was expecting a good explanation but she started crying. What was that? Totally out of character.
Exactly my reaction. Why was she so silent?

D. Saurab's expressions from the past so many episodes. What is that expression! He was the one who was hell bent on keeping non veg food and now he's all scared and innocent when he sees Dixits protesting. Feel ashamed at the least.

E. Dev and Sonakshi didn't talk AT ALL! Not even in the car when Dev could have easily consoled her. What the hell was that. It was their wedding but they got the least footage.

F. The wedding looked so much better in OLVs. Stupid editors edited amazing scenes like Mangalsutra one, the dupatta putting thing was shown for a second, the games, and left all the nonsense scenes of dadi bua and GKB. So disappointing.

G. Extra intelligent event manager just to create drama. That was not needed. Made no sense.

H. Promos showed Ishwari carrying her own food and water to the venue. Now why the hell is she cooking in the kitchen after the wedding? Memory loss ho gaya makers ko.

The whole cultural differences thing was shown in poor light.Instead of respecting both cultures, it became more of a who could insult the other more game. There was zero common sense used in depicting these scenes. No discussions on food or dress prior to wedding, no separate arrangement for food.It was a big mess really.
All in all, I think the episode could have been so much better without the melodrama. They could have presented the matters in a subtle way. Also, Devakshi scenes should have been longer and more detailed, which they were but we're sadly edited.
Exactly, the issues could have been presented in subtle ways instead of the mud slinging match that it became.

P.S.- Another drama coming up on Monday so we'd never get a Devakshi episode ever? -_-
Haha, I don't think so😆If we didn't get it at their wedding, then there are no hopes for any other episode.

Well - I agree with the food thing. But my 2 cents on both the points raised by you -

1. Being from one culture, it's difficult to know the culture of others thoroughly. But my question is - why there was no communication between the two families about the dresses or menus ? Both are very important aspects in a marriage ! And if they decided to go with Bengali traditions, then how come Dev didn't wear the Dhoti given by the bride's family ? And how did no one point that out 😕 What was the expectations that rituals will be bengali ones, but dresscode and food-code would be of Dixits ? Sorry this is damn confusing 😆 If the expectation from Sona is to wear Lehenga, the expectation from Dev is to wear dhoti as well since it's Bong style 😆

2. Food. I totally agree about not discussing it with Dixits. It IS a big deal for Vegeterians. But my point is, when it was already decided and both parties knew it, why not just try to do things to make it better ? Daughter's wedding is counted as one of the saddest days of parents' lives. Aren't we all supposed to co-operate just to make them feel better ? Asha told Dada to bring food from a Veg restro. Ishwari and DB didn't agree to that as well I felt GKB handled the food thing better in the wedding 😲😆

Somehow this hurting each other due to cultural gap don't gel with me And when things go worse, it's duty of everyone to make each other feel better about their culture, something like what Mamaji is doing 👏. But making faces and giving weird disintereted looks don't help really 👎🏼 After all the grooms are taking away the bride. The family of the bride is left with nothing 💔

Everything was pure chaos.I won't add much because as you both pointed out, that there were no discussions on a any issue when there should have been.As I mentioned in another comment, it was more a mud slinging match than a wedding. The Boses were trying to be accommodating but they should have handled food arrangements better(separate rooms). There was no need for snide comments and expressions on part of Dixits at literally everything. This is NOT how inter-caste/culture marriages take place.

Rose, call me crazy. But I expected drama n only drama n was thankful for the handful of Devakshy scenes shown on their own wedding like an after thought. If you want to watch Dev n Sona watch OLV's. That is the message from the makers I think. They want their TRP and us loyal followers are not going to provide it. We got first 100 episodes. After seeing what Sony does with other low TRP shows I don't have any hope for our original show. I love the cast n will watch it till it lasts for them n also for my daily quota of them. Will just ignore the negatives piling up for my own sanity. Yesterday the scene where Dev waits eagerly for Sona and the way his face just lit up the moment she comes even causing Ishwari to forget her discomfort and the garland Scene. These stayed with me after the episode. There were only 15 % Devakshi scenes. But these stood out and stayed with me. When the drama of non veg is more important in wedding than mangalsutr then why to expect more?

😆You are right, I should have expected the extreme drama seeing thats what the CVs have been focusing on since so many episodes. But couldn't they have given more screen space to Dev-Somakshi.They were side players and adjusted between the drama .
You are right, focus of CVs have shifted to the audience who enjoy this kind of drama and that audience is not us.

Wait, I am expecting CVs to actually think beyond drama. May be that's my mistake. I should not expect any sense from them at all.

@bold: Exactly, it was never ending. They were not thinking. That's the biggest problem.Did they even watch the end result before telecast?Couldn't they see what the hell they are showing?
After yesterday, I am not expecting sense, better expect nothing. They are only going to end up disappointing us.
