And yes sponsors are booked by the Channel sales team.
I realise my earlier statement might be misunderstood, so let me clarify.

"If a PH brings in advertising moolah they are worth proceeding else they are not" --> I made this statement from point of view of the channel. If using this PH, the channel can bring in advertising revenue the PH will be allowed to proceed.

Two days wouldn't make so much of a difference in my opinion. This show was quite popular and so many fans appealed to them. Yet the channel/PH appeared helpless. Why? Characters have been brought back from the dead for lesser efforts.

There must be something big like loss of a key would-be sponsor was my guess. It is the simplest reason. They have no more money/budget to proceed with shooting. No amount of fans appeal can change that. Unless Sony can pull a rabbit out of the hat and bring in a new sponsor.
