p.s. you mentioned that Tanya 'thought' that Nandini wouldn't come back from coma.........interesting point of justification for going against the law......but unfortunately, law does not go in accordance with perceptions and thoughts as they differ from one person to another.............law is universal for every person.......and according to the law, Nandini was still alive.............and while she was still alive, it was ILLEGAL for Tanya to marry her husband.......not just in the eyes of the law but also in accordance with the diktats of Hinduism as well..........at least my humble recollection empowers me to establish this point..............and this time, this is not a case of opinion, its a fact, which in pure logic, should not leave any room for arguments

The marriage between Karan and Nandini and also between Karan and Tanya should be judged as per Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 of IPC.
According to this law a marriage is legal if all of the following conditions are met: -
1. Neither party has a spouse living at the time of marriage.
2. Both parties are capable of giving the consent for marriage as per their mental soundness.
3. Neither party is suffering from such a mental disorder which makes him unfit for marriage and procreation.
4. Neither party is subject to recurrent attacks of insanity and/or epilepsy.
5. The groom is minimum 21 years and the bride is minimum 18 years.
6. The parties are allowed to marry based on the relationship between them. (Note: - Here law talks about two kinds of relationships - prohibited relationship and sapinda relationship, which make the parties unfit for marriage, unless the local custom allows such kind of marriage).

If the above conditions are valid, then the marriage is legal. But what if any of the above conditions is not valid? Does it mean that the marriage automatically becomes illegal? Not necessary. As per law, if any of the conditions 1, 5, and 6 is violated, then the marriage automatically becomes illegal. However, if any of the other conditions is violated, then marriage is legal but will become nullified if a petition is filed to make it nullified.

In case of the marriage between Karan and Tanya, the first condition is violated. Therefore, the marriage is illegal.

So, the conclusion is that the marriage between Karan and Tanya is illegal.
