Chapter 12
Arnav Singh Raizada was frustrated, he had woken up with fatigue, slightly blurred vision now and again and all the signs of just a bad day for a sufferer of Diabetes. This is exactly what he did not need this morning. He had important meetings and work to get done and this was just inconvenient. He may have managed to get himself ready for work but he did not feel his best but the ASR thing to do was always ignore what his body was telling him.
He pulled out a blood testing kit out of the drawer and injured the small shed of blood to see how poor his blood sugar levels were. - they weren't good swearing a little under his breath Arnav doesn't realize that he isn't only person in the room. Hp was also present and took a good look at the reading as much as was possible.

On the other hand as Khushi is in nani's room she hears what Hp has to say about Arnav. He didn't seem well spoke Hp, and his blood sugar seemed really bad not only that but he had already asked for multiple cups of coffee and forgotten that Hp had already delivered them. Khushi who could see Hps concern shared it after hearing him out.

As Arnav attempts to walk out of the room to leave for work Khushi had well and truly blocked his way by standing right in the middle of the door way.
"Khushi jane doh.. (Khushi give me way i'm late .. )I'm late" he said trying to taking his phone out of his pocket so he could call Aman to see if he was outside yet.
He wasn't.. she confirmed and he looked at her raising his eyebrows a little at her in a "What?"
Before he could dial Amans number again Khushi had walked up to him to take his phone away after which she took his finger tips within his to look at his plastered thumb from his blood test and looked up at him. The answer to his why in her eyes because he wasn't well and even if he did not care she did.
Sighing a little Arnav curses the only weakest link that would have grassed on him and that had to be Hariprakash.
"Hp use toh ..mein! (Hariprakash wasn't it i'll kill him )idiot..!" but then realized that he had promised Khushi that he wouldn't be mean to Hariprakash and something told him that if he did not comply with what she was telling him right now she would threaten to walk out of the house and that he did not want.
She took away his laptop bag and then returned to him as he remained still looking very annoyed. Unfastening the two buttons of his blazer he watched as she loosened his tie, unraveled it and then unfastened the top buttons of his shirt. He wasn't going anywhere. Although it wasn't what he wanted he enjoyed seeing the new confidence in his wifes ways. She walked towards the drawer took out of his medication and handed it to him ordering him to rest whilst she called the doctor.

When the doctor finally did arrive after half a day it didn't seem like much to be worried about after all at which Arnav looked at Khushi with a smug expression but she was a wife she was worried and in some ways seeing something more than just practicality in Khushi was nice for him too. As he rolled down his sleeves post the tests the doctor had done and Khushi had saw the doctor out of the house she returned to him sure that he would a "I told you so" for her but he didn't.
What made him feel bad was when he said he would do a bit of little work with whatever was left with the day. It was that guilt that was the reason she said she would help after all she owed him from the other night and he agreed.
In fact he had the perfect job in mind and she had already committed so there was no going back.

She was to try on every one of the many outfits, and she wasn't just modelling them for him to decide on she was giving her opinion too. A second opinion. About the colour, the style, the cut, not that he asked for it but she failed to notice that whilst she went on talking all he could do was admire her. He was supposed to be making notes and he try but it was hard to keep up with Khushi she had so much to say from the time she tried on the dress from a room around the corner of the lounge till the time she came out and showed him what it looked like.
It was like a mini catwalk in some ways but with a lot of Khushi talk and Arnav trying to think whilst she was going on.
When Khushi seemed to be unusually quiet as she changed into this next one and it seemed to take longer than she had done with all the others Arnav thought to check if she was okay.
Shouting whilst he finished off his notes on the last one to hear her answer him a little hesitantly
"Yey hame aa nahin raha" ( "This one doesn't fit me well) she said her tone a little unsure but loud enough for him to hear out in the lounge.
It wasn't about how well they fitted he just wanted to see what they looked like on a person and it couldn't have been far off he wouldn't have asked her if they were totally the wrong size.
"It doesn't matter, bahar aaon" ("Come out.")
But she seemed to not want to despite there being just the two of them in the house.
"Ji nahin... aap aap andar ayey.." ("No, you come here..")
Sighing a little he better had listen to her he thought and walked around the corner into the room and was astonished by what he saw. It wasn't at all a misfit it was just Khushi not wanting anyone or him for that matter to see her in something so revealing.
This particular dress had an unusually revealing neck line which made cleavage slightly visible. It wasn't the fitting at all it was Khushi's modesty. Her embarrassment was visible in her eyes that just wouldn't look at him even if he was stood behind her looking at her in the mirror reflection.
She looked beautiful but he did not wish make her feel uncomfortable, he commented on the dress rather than the lady.
"Its great.." he said with easiest tone of voice and picked out one last one he wanted her to try on leaving it on the side.
This moment revealed the Khushi Arnav once knew, innocent, a little traditional some things did not change but he had. He understood, admired, a loved what he saw. Khushi who went out of her comfort zone for him and only him. Not only that but Khushi's sense of modesty was a result of her respect for their relationship and for him and that was something very special.
The last outfit he had chosen with purpose because whatever discomfort or insecurity Khushi felt with the last would be forgotten.
The last outfit was a supremely elegant electric blue saari which looked all the more beautiful once on Khushi.
As she walked out and gave him a spin to him to show him the last outfit Khushi waited for a response in fact she loved this Saari and expressed wanting it for herself but instead she watched him approach her without lifting his eyes from her from the walk from his seat towards her. He didn't have a comment on the outfit, nor the colour or how well he thought it would do on the high street he was more interested in complimenting her. He stopped before her and seem to just look at her in a way Khushi could only recall from what once was. When he did act it was unpredictable to say the least.
He took away her hair grip from her hair for it to fall onto her shoulders and it was then she realized that this wasn't Arnav Singh Raizada evaluating the fashion his artists had come up with it was Arnav Singh Raizada looking upon his wife.
Everything about Khushi spoke, spoke of how hard this was for her, how in love she was with him, how her heart had wished for him over and over again over these two years, her expression, her posture, the way she breathed but her eyes her eyes were indeed the windows to her soul.
" Kya hai hamari ankhon mein joh aap itni gehrayi se dekh rahe hai?" (What is it that you see in my eyes that is taking up so much of you attention ..)
- "Ghussa" (Anger) - he replies
"hmm--?"she says a bit surprised.
"Diktha toh bohot kuch hai par (I see a lot )
in sab mein se ..(but out of it all )
I see your resentment Khushi."
Khushi didn't like that maybe because she knew it was true that in the deepest corner of her heart whether she liked it or not was resentment for him.
Pushing him away a little angrily Khushi puts her hair up again in a bun and walks off making it clear that she did not appreciate his observation.

"Mann toh karta hai aap ko is pani mein fek doon!" - ("right now I feel like pushing you off into the water!!")- there she said it yes she was angry at him and she gave him the most scariest of faces he had ever seen as they sat beside the poolside .
He just let her have her say because it was long overdue for them to start a fresh this was important.
"Ham ghussa hai kyun ke aap ne hamare rishte ko fek diya.." ("I'm angry because you just threw away our relationship without giving it a second chance.. ")
"Doh saal guzare hamne aap ke bina." ("I spent two years without you .. ")
.."Aur aap ko hamari akhon me aaj ghussa dikha.. !!!!!" ("and all you see is the anger")
How dare he point out the anger when her heart carried so much more.. what about the love, the devotion, the respect despite the pain.
Before Khushi could evaporate in her own fury Arnav who had heard every word and heard her heart beating with every word did what he could do to answer all that and that was to act on his instinct to kiss his wife.
