Having Shahid Kapoor as a co-star in Priyadarshan's new film in Chennai isn't the only reason for Kareena Kapoor's current state of elation. There is another reason for this unprecedented joy -- her sister Karisma's reconciliation with husband Sanjay.
"To have Shahid as a co-star always helps," she chuckles, "But I'm really happy because my sister's problems have finally ended. So much has been written about the entire incident. Several well-wishers had even predicted doomsday for the marriage.
But we knew the problems could be sorted out. Come on, which marriage doesn't have its share of problems? But if the entire crisis is up for public debate it naturally becomes tougher to solve the tangle."
According to Kareena, the marriage is back on an even keel. "Of course, the marriage is going to work. My sister and Sanjay love each other. Sure, they had problems.
But they were aggravated due to the constant media glare. The prying became unbearable especially when cameras followed them to Goa where they had gone primarily for a patch-up holiday."
The Kapur and Kapoor families are happy and relieved to see the couple sort out their differences, if not for their own sake then for their baby girl.
"Samaira is a great cementing force between them," says Kareena, "In fact, Sanjay is playing a polo tournament on the November 18 and the prize has been named after Samaira. It will be the Samaira trophy. That's how much he loves his daughter."
The couple has moved into their own residence in New Delhi where they will get a chance to work on their marriage.
"By the end of this month Sanjay, Karisma and Samaira are going on a holiday to Germany where Sanjay has some business to attend to," reveals Kareena, "They'll spend time in Germany and then proceed for a vacation elsewhere."
