Hey!

With the clash of titans aka ADHM vs Shivaay coming up, I wanted to ask you all, are such clashes good for the industry or bad for them?

Do such clashes just eat into collective profits and make the proverbial pie smaller or do they encourage healthy competition and ensure filmmakers come up with a better product each time?

Are these kind of clashes avoidable and superfluous? Are they necessary?

What is your opinion?

Feel free to elaborate.

Bad. Clashes mean too many films are releasing around the same time. While certain lean periods like pre-Diwali, pre-Eid, IPL, exam season in Feb and March hardly have any big releases. For a healthy industry there should be decent films releasing every two weeks. That will ensure better footfalls and growth. But thanks to the craze for records every big filmstar wants the biggest holidays. As those who release in lean periods lose out while those who release on Eid/Diwali/Xmas get bragging rights on records.

Good for movie goers and onlookers like us, but bad for movie makers

Win. Coz these days only Salman's movies work.. or a bad movie clashing with another works.

Nice.. interesting topic like always! :)

On topic, IDK.. lol.

Sometimes I feel it encourages a healthy competition, ideally. But sometimes what happens is, some movies go unnoticed when they are released along with a Khan's movie. That is really sad..

I would say no clash is better. Especially because at present, it seems the quality of cinema will not improve with compeition... only tactics for promotion, etc will increase(case in point - Ajay-KJo-KRK controversy) :p
