Chapter 6
its been two weeks kali was getting the hang of things, the manager was impress with her and even promote her as a trainer. Kali after coming from work step out to see it raining. She looks at naina saying what will they do now, she says they can't sleep in the rain. While thinking the manager told them that he has someone thats renting a room, he said it's not to expensive so they can afford. Kali says she doesn't mind as long as it's safe for her and naina.
The manager drove Kali to the house. Their she was unease, she looks at the house thinking it looks familiar before the manager knock, he knock few times until the person opens. " you?" She says
Kali was also surprise, the manager told them if they know each other. They both nod, the manager says this will be good for both of them. Amma told Kali to come while the manager explain everything. Amma says she would be happy to rent her the room. They sat down and went through the procedure before Kali paid her. After the manager left Kali went into the room and lay naina down,then change her clothes.
" this is good, now I can provide more for you without worrying about a place to sleep", she lay next to naina and pat her head while singing her song. While singing she she'd tears thinking of yug.
Nandu sleeping next door wake up to her voice. He sleepily. Says why do I hear my wi...I mean Kali voice." He look around before hitting his head, " I must be imagining, Kali wouldn't be here, she want nothing to do with me", he lay back down and close his eyes before falling asleep.
The next day Nandu took his shirt of and wrap his towel around his waist. He was ready to do his normal routine. He opens the door and walk to the bathroom. Just when he was about to open Kali came out. She was drying her hair with a towel. She look up to see Nandu, they we're both surprise.
" Nandu?"
"K-kali!"
Kali took a look at Nandu, he look completely different from the time she saw him. He had a clean shave, his hair was more shaggy then ever, probably because he just woke up. He looks like a complete different person especially with the expression he was making. Is this really Nandu? She thought
Nandu on the other hand was trying to see if he was dreaming again. He put his hands on Kali shoulder and pull her for a hug. He could smell the shampoo she used. He says it smells nice.
Kali calls for him, she told him To let her go. Nandu snapping out of it, remove his hand" I'm sorry... Nandu thought you weren't real"
Kali face a little red, says " it's OK, you must have been surprise to see me"
" yes, I thought Kali didn't want to live with Nandu? "
" I didn't know I would be here either"
Their was a short pause before Nandu smile " I'm glad wif-.. I mean Kali is here, now I can take care of you"
Kali was about to protest, but Nandu ignores her and walk in the bathroom, closing it. She sigh and walk to the room to see naina awake, she quickly change her and walk to the kitchen. " your awake Kali "
" yes, me and naina have to shop later on"
" eat first and then you can go"
" I'm not that hungry"
" don't be silly Kali..eat" she says
Nandu after showering came down, he was wearing his usual clothes, Amma says Nandu is looking dashing like his father. Nandu told her to stop comparing him to his dad. But Amma ignore him and talk about the good old days.
Kali while finishing up says they will leave. Amma told her to take Nandu, Kali was about to protest, but Amma says it gets dark quick so she needs someone to protect her. Nandu says he will do it, and quickly gulp his food. He almost choke making Amma scold him, Kali chuckle a little.
While they we're leaving a car pull over Amma house, the men in fancy suit walk to the house and knock. When Amma open she was surprise to see him. The men walk in looking at the place in disgust before turning to Amma. " you still live in this place?"
" of course, this was the house you built for us"
" I told you to come with me, why do you still punish yourself"
Amma walk to the kitchen to clear the table " I'm living my life, the way I wanted too, you chose to leave us for money"
" I was doing it for us" he says
" it wasn't for us, but for your own greedyness."
The men sigh " how is Nandu?"
Amma hit her hand on the table " don't you dare speak my son name from your mouth. Besides why would you be concern of the son you disowned because he was mental "
The men frown " it wasn't like that, I told you to give him up for adoption"
" what difference does it make, you still didn't want him. But no worries my Nandu is growing up to be a fine men. He thinks his father is a good men because of the stories I told him"
" listen I'm here to apologize to Nandu. I want To take him with me to get treated. "
Amma whole body froze, she told him that Nandu isn't going anywhere, she says they didn't need him before and they don't need him now. The men tried to explain, but Amma told him to leave before she calls the police.
The men fix his suit and told her that he will be back. He says Nandu will have to make the decision for himself. After he left Amma sat down while crying, she says her Nandu isn't going anywhere.
