While I appreciate all of the characters of the show, I am in awe of Shivaay and Ishaana, I feel they are the most interesting. There is an irresistible pull towards them. They are...dark.
Both of them, being the eldest had a lot of responsibilities on them. At a tender age they saw the harsh realities of the world and they had to face them all. Shivaay, to protect his family from his own family. He saw the cruelty of relationships at that age and had to protect his brothers and sister from facing it. He was the savior.

Ishaana, had to gamble with the world to fill her stomach and her family's stomach. How many times would she have seen people happily enjoying in luxurious hotel a good feast and she wouldn't have even a piece of bread in her hand? She learnt an important lesson, Survival of the Fittest, a controversial concept when it comes to humans. She felt the world was cruel. Because frankly, none cared about her or atleast she did not find any to care for her. When none cared for her, why would she care for her? Poverty and Crime share a very close bond with each other. She isn't justified by her poverty, the so called Majboori Dialogue she hits is not how a ConWoman is. They are cruel. The Second part of the Confrontation was when I finally felt she does have some true potential.

When at such an early age, they are exposed to the harshness of the world, they perceived it as the reality. And in that perception of reality, they knew that they were wrong but they felt it as real. They accepted darkness as a part of their life and the world. The world is not all Ideal for them.

They are flawed just like everyone is, but they are so against emotions. It's a business for them. What profit they gain is all that matters to them. Calculative, cunning and Indifferent.

They are so dark and deep and so vulnerable because that childlike innocence is pressed hard into them hidden. The joy in them has never exposed itself to life, maybe because they feel that the Joy will get vanished in the World. Frankly speaking, Anika and Om are nowhere close to even entering in their heart. They are just affected by them.

Broken families and Broken Hearts...That's what we were promised at the start of the show. Comedy does make us laugh, but if this is all that the soap shows then I may get a good laugh, enjoy like I'm doing now and maybe a good TRP for them, but that emotional attachment I have to very specific characters will never be(Only ARI❤️ has been in there for me. None else). Shivaay and Ishaana have that potential, in a sense Om too but they are focusing only on two- comedy and Romance. But the core is the story, I demand for it, for every character.

Sure, Love stories are bound to make a place in the viewers' heart but a true story captures the character in such a way that it can stand on it is own in the viewers' heart. It is inclusive but not dependent on the other characters. The surroundings do form him, but he is not the surrounding. That thin line when maintained this show will def be wonders.

Shivaay is shown being affected by her, but we are not seeing the him due to him getting affected by her. Let the focus be on him due to the effect she has on him and not just that he is getting affected. A character is bound to develop with the things happening in and around him, that development is not happening here.

Ishaana, I hope they continue with the amazing confrontation scene and give her some screen space.

I'm defo loving Ishqbaaz for now, with all comedy and Mallika and Siddarth(As a strong biased shipper of SurVir😆). However, when thinking about the show I think that they should focus on the story instead.

The theme is dark, but the writing is not tight. When good strong writing is delivered with good performance and right bonding of the characters, it is then somebody gets so damn attached to you and I bet you will perceive the character as an almost real person. That's when a fiction goes seemingly real. I hope Gul does it to this Show or else sorry no Emotional Investment is going in, or atleast by me.

Be free to discuss. 😃

I think every character in IB is a little bit flawed to be honest. Some more than others, that's what makes it all the more interesting.

Shivaay - Too vain
Anika - Too idealistic, and a tad bit judgemental
Omkara - Too righteous
Ishaana - Too helpless, and a tad bit more carefree than necessary
Rudra - Too superficial
Soumya - Too trusting/dependent, and a tad bit immature

I've said this before, the whole set of characters from the family, excluding Priyanka maybe, has some set of flaws tagging along with their good hearts. I think it makes it interesting. Better yet, it makes it realistic. We're all a little bit of all these characters at different phases of our lives. They're just exaggeration of one shade in one character here.

Each character (unlike many shows) has a different shade.👏
Shivaaye and Ishaana are characters whom (some) don't like because of their approach towards life😳, but the best part about them is that their partners will help them change for better❤️.
I can just rant on-and-on, so I better stop😆. Anyways, Great analysis buddy👍🏼

And that is the best part of the show. However, leaving this flawness in them without exploring is what I fear.

@Pinks06 I have always loved your views.

Yes, all the characters are flawed. It's like broken. The family it is so broken and the repair here is love. But what I feel is missing is Character Depth.. The Actions have def brought out the flawness in everyone of them. But, there is to go beyond that action... something very abstract rather than the visible life. I miss that. Its too early to go into the depth, but the signs of it are not left. The darkness is not well depicted. Like I said it has a good theme, but the writing is not very tight.

The approach of Shivaay and Ishaana is rather very real. All of us speak of ideals in our usual everyday rants, however when it comes to the situation we also react like them. The difference between Shivaay, Ishaana and the other charcters is both of these accept what they are, they speak out what they think as fact. Yeah, she is a conwoman but she doesnt fear to accept that. Same goes with Shivaay. No pretence of fake idealism.

Now you're just being nice. But gee, thank you! 😳

@bold - Because they don't have the guts to do that. Even great messages are just lightly ruffled. I use to love Tej-Jhanvi scenes in the beginning for example. There was potential for such angst. And so much story-telling. Also, why does Shivaay not talk to his parents? He seems to have way more respect for Jhavni/Tej than his own parents? I want to know WHY Shivaay is so obsessed with family name, when Omkara is so indifferent to it. They grew up with the exact same set of values/family members. And if Shivaay was influenced by Jhanvi, then shouldn't he have been more compassionate like Om? What tipped Omkara to start drugs? Does Rudra have a personality except chasing girls? Why is Anika adopted? Why is Soumya STILL staying in this house? Why, why, why...

There are so many back stories that need so many answers. Lekin naye logon ko laane se fursaat mile toh purane characters ki story dikhaegein nah... 😕

I watched today's episode and honestly, I enjoyed it. Why, you may ask (trust me, I am very much annoyed at how the show is moving forward atm. And I dare you to find anyone who hates this Mallika-Rana track as much as I do lol).

Because it was funny. I laughed throughout the episode (I could totally do with some laughter on bad days like today. or everyday. Gah).

The one thing I very much wish to see is our three heroine's rapport on-screen! (which doesn't seem to happening soon)

(sorry if I'm off topic and whiny. I have kind-of forgotten what I was going to write on Shivaay-Ishana in the whim of ranting. )
