"Shivaay...i...h..w...you..me...how.."stammered Anika. Anika was unable to construct a word let alone a sentence, listening Shivaay's words she was left speechless. She has always loved Shivaay since childhood and dreamt of her and him being together and having future. For Anika, Shivaay was always her prince and she, his princess, she had dreamt thousands of time that one day Shivaay will come and take her away from all her pains and loneliness and will fill her life with lost of love and care like every fairy - tales has "Happily Ever After". Anika actually had no one in her life after her dad died in an accident and her mother remarried to another, but her step-father was of no good as he would abuse her, torture her and molest her in the absence of her mother and threatened her to not tell anything to her mother or else he will kill her mother, then one day her mother died in an accident and from then her actual cursed life started, she had no one but her loneliness and isolated life to share her pain with, she was tortured since childhood and there was no one for her, to be beside her. But she never accepted her defeat. Then when she became old enough to support herself she ran away from her house and started living by herself by doing part-time job and studying to fulfil her dreams of becoming an doctor. In childhood, amidst of all the evilness that surrounded her which would force her cry over her fate again and again, she used to smile once in a while when her eyes used to fall upon her neighbourhood friend Shivaay. From when she was 8 years she used to love him, always considering him, her prince charming, always dreaming about them being together and loving each other, but it always seemed impossible for her as from childhood Shivaay considered her only her best friend and even she never thought that Shivaay will ever fall for her let alone like her in a way that a guy likes a girl as she was always a nerdy type, bookworm with specs and not at all attractive features with pale dusky skin and her dresses it was always a suit she wear instead of opting for those so-called mini dresses like other sexy girls in the college, she was not at all popular and on the other side Shivaay was typically the macho man and popular guy of the college with well- built features and sexy voice and yes who can forget his greyish-blue eyes which can hold tons of emotions which in turn can send jitters through any girls spine.
So in her views she never thought that he will ever considered her as his love interest and she will always remain his childhood friend and here he was proposing her for being his girlfriend and loving her, she thought baffled that he can ever choose her.
"Anika, I have asked you a question will you please answer that first then you can day dream about me" his husky voice brought her out of his thought and she blushed red as she saw him smirking naughtily at her.
"Shivaay..how can I... I mean we...I mean do you really love me?" she asked atlast tried of her nagging thoughts.
"What kind of question is this Anika...I LOVE YOU, that's why I'm here on my knees proposing YOU" said Shivaay pointing finger at her.

That 'I Love You' hit her hard, she pinched herself to check if she is again seeing one of her beautiful dreams but Fortunately it was not dream but reality, her dream was becoming her reality or it can be said a sweet reality. She was happy 'NO', she was on cloud nine she got what she has always dreamt for, her life, her Shivaay for lifetime.
"I Love You Too Shivaay and wants to be with you all your life in your sorrows and happiness and today i promise you i will never leave your side ever in my whole life and will keep loving you only with whole of my being and existence, i will always be yours and only yours Shivaay" said Anika sobbing. She was still in her own trance sobbing, crying, smiling and continuously saying 'I Love You Shivaay, when she was pulled in a tight hug by Shivaay who was also in tears.

And that was it, that day started their relation and with every passing day it was becoming stringer and deeper for both. For Anika spending time with Shivaay, being called as his girlfriend was something she never desired though had surely dreamt off. By the time, their relationship completed one month whole college were aware about there blossoming love, they never told about their relation to anyone but eventually seeing their closeness, there possessiveness and protectiveness whole college came to know about them though most of them were not able to digest that the most hottest guy of the college has chosen the most nerdy, down market and plain looking girl as his girlfriend.

Amidst, all this, their love blossom much to most of the jealous girls dismay, the sweet romantic eye-locks, their warm hugs and small pecks on each others cheeks, showing care and concern to each other, there relationship completed 6 years like in an blink of an eye. They were happy, very happy with each other. Everyone thought that they will surely do end up getting married...but who knows what's store in one's future?
In this 6 years many things changed, Anika fulfilled her dream of becoming an doctor finally!! and was working in an most reputed hospital in the city but she was still the same, the same nerdiness, the same specs, the same bookworm but her love for Shivaay was not same but much deeper and pure then she can ever thought off. As for Shivaay, he also persuade his dreams and became an honourable and intelligent Businessman of India, THE Great Shivaay Singh Oberoi. But there love remained the same, they trusted each other more then anything, they loved each other though never crossed their limits ever, their love and friendship was adored by many who know them and about their relationship.

But one day changed everything, Shivaay called Anika and asked her to meet him in his home soon.

After few minutes, Anika was standing in front of his door smiling happily waiting for him to open the door. As soon as Shivaay opened the door, Anika quickly hugged him securing herself in his warm embrace seeking love and protection but today it seemed that something was different in his arms, his demeanour was different as if he was tensed about something. Anika slowly untangled herself from his arms, Shivaay placing a quick peck on her cheek invited her in and made her seat on his couch before kneeling in front of her holding her hands firmly.

"Anika, there is something I have to tell you...ummm...no...actually we need to have a talk", said Shivaay stammering slightly.
Listening him and the tremor in his voice she felt a chill ran down her spine but she somehow managed to maintain her clam and asked in a soft voice, "Shivaay what is it?...you..you seemed to be tense about something...has something happened at your workplace"
"No, it not about that , Anika its about us...Anika lets over this...I mean...I... I'm in love with someone else", finally he said her the most dreading words he thought.

"...", No response.
"hmm.. Anika??", asked Shivaay confused for getting no response from her.(still his eyes are closed)
Finally opening his eyes he looked at her and was shocked to see her smiling. " Anika? ", asked Shivaay seeing her smiling. "What's her name?" she asked in a soft voice almost as a whisper. Shivaay was shocked will an understatement, he was waiting for her outburst, her accusation but none came instead she seating calmly in front of him and asking him about his love interest.

But still composing himself , he managed to reply, "Mallika...Her name is Mallika...you know about Siddhart Vikram Rana...our Business partner...she is his friend...you remember last month there was a party in his house, I met her there, and then there was instant connection, we talked and talked and talked and by the end of the party I was madly in love with her...but still I tried to distance myself from her because I was committed to you but you know somethings happened that we cant control and just go with the flow and like this in this one month we spend time with each other and we realized that we cannot stay away from each other and yesterday we confessed and kissed each other...I am so sorry Anika it was not meant to be, but then I realized that we are not meant to be together, I am in love with her and may be our relation was actually not based on love but on friendship and we thought it as love...Iam so sorry Anika...sorry...I am" Shivaay's sentence was cut off by Anika who said "Shivaay, why are you sorry? actually you should not and I should be thankful to you as because of you i realized that actually we are seriously not meant to be...Actually you know even I wanted to take a break from this relationship but then thought , you will be upset but now as you said it...you know Shivaay I am actually feeling relaxed...you know when you said that you love Mallika and kissed her..i was actually not jealous or sad..infact I was feeling myself so dumb that I didn't understood our relationship...if I would have ever loved you i would have been jealous and sad but not Infact Iam happy for you...so in reality you are right we were always meant to be friends and not life partners because we are not meant to be...infact I am sorry because of me you tried to stay away from your love of the life..because you were committed to me but it is always said na that true love always wins and see your's and Mallika's love won", Anika said smiling happily at him, her eyes twinkling with joy.

Shivaay was shocked he thought there will be anger, slaps and accusation but none came instead she happily accepted the fact that there in nothing between them, that actually she wanted break from their relation, he was astonished.
"Okay... now i should leave Shivaay, I have to be out of town for few days as we visiting some villages for their check-ups...but yes will catch all the detail of your and Mallika's love story once I am back...so be ready for all my questions...hmm..and yes once I am back i want to meet Mallika... even i want to see who took away my best friends heart..she must very beautiful that she made you fall for her so madly...right??...okay we can talk later or i will miss the train..bye.." she waved her hand towards him and quickly ran out of the house smiling and went to her home, leaving Shivaay stunned and shocked by her words, but her words did pricked his heart.

Coming in her house smiling and twinkle in her eyes, finding her own zone of comfort , soon her smile disappears and her twinkle replaced with pain, finally her damn broke and she shattered, making a blank, happy and clam composure in front of Shivaay and listening his love story, smiling happily in front of him accepting his love for someone else when her heart was breaking in pieces bit by bit, her heart broke, her heart was broken, her heart had broken so many times by her fate but she never mind until Shivaay was there by her side but today it was over, all over. She cried and cried over her cursed fate, first her dad, then mom, then that molestation and insulting life with her step-dad and now her broken heart by the love of her life Shivaay, why everyone she loves, leave her deserted ,she thought while rubbing the tears through the back of her hands but her tears was not stop as if a dam was broken she cried sitting on the floor whole night and slept there only.

Next morning she woke up with pain all over her body but the mind numbing pain was there - in her heart, she was happy for Shivaay and why not she will be, afterall she loved him more then anything, she can do anything for him, even if it meant sacrificing her life for him, anyway he deserved someone better then her, he was handsome, intelligent , brave and she was a nerd, ugly, shy girl who don't even know what to do with her life now. He deserved every bit of his happiness and she will do anything in power to see happiness in his face, she thought, smiling slightly remembering his face. Her phone rang and broke her out of her reverie and she remembered all was over, she don't have the right to remember him, but i will love you forever Shivaay, she murmured, getting up from the floor and getting ready to leave for visiting village and left.
After 3 Months (Anika still is in her visit to the village)
For few days everything was normal for Shivaay, spending time with Mallika, hugging, kissing, roaming with her but his thoughts were always distracted by Anika, he always thought about her, many a times his heart urged him to call her but then refrained as she had messaged him that not to call or message her as their senior will not allow cell phone with them, he may spend time with Mallika but his thoughts were always around Anika, he would always compare his present memories with Mallika and past memories with Anika to each other and he would always end up drowning more and more in his past memories, and when he would try not to think about Anika, he would end up hallucinating her beside him complaining about her seniors and how she love this and that, her words on their relationship was ringing in his ears always bring tears to him.

As for Anika, she was trying to mend her heart but was failing miserably, the more she tries the more she ends up falling in love with him. One day she was doing regular visit to a house in a village were he saw a boy and girl talking sweetly with each other hand in hand and boy giving her gift and then Anika shifted back to one of their memories...
FLASHBACK
It was their third confession anniversary, she was waiting for him eagerly in his bedroom which was decorated with his favourites flowers, balloons, candles with his favourite vanilla-chocolate cake.
Hearing the sound of door opening she quickly switched of the lights and waited for him to enter and then the moment of her wait get over and she switched on the light shouting, "SURPRISE..."

Shivaay was shocked for sure but pleasantly shocked. But later composing himself, smilingly went to her and hugging her, he wished her and presented her with a gift which was a brown box.
"What's in it Shivaay?" Anika asked excitedly.
"Just open it and see", Shivaay said smiling.
"Okay!!", She tried to open it but it was not opening, she looked at Shivaay and frowned cutely, pouting. Taking the box from her hand, he pecked her nose and said, "It's a magical box".
"What...magical box?" asked Anika. "Yes magical box...it will open when you will say it's password" he said looking at her with love. "Okay ...so what's the password ?" she asked. "Think!!" said Shivaay and handed her the box again. Anika thought for sometime but when getting no where she accepted defeat and pleaded Shivaay to help her.
"It's Shivika" he smiled.

"What...Shivika...Who Shivika??"confused, she asked.
"Aree baba, Shivika means Shivaay + Anika = Shivika... ab samjhi...accha ab now see the magic" he asked smirking.
He took the box in his hand and said "SHIVIKA" and it opened and Anika gasped seeing this...and the room was filled with their favourites songs. Placing it in the table he took her hands and started dancing and said "You know this is my grandpa's gift for me before he died, he gave it to me and today I'm giving it to you...ofcourse with some modification like that password and this music...Now when i will be not here around you.. you can share your thoughts with his box and your thoughts will be reach to me...i promise".

"Why would you be not there for me, beside me, i will never let you leave me..remember this mister", said Anika, warning him and giving fake angry glares to him. Wrapping his arms around her, he hugged her and said" I will never leave you alone unless i am taking my last breaths..i promise you Anika...my life and my love is only and only for you and no one can take your place in my heart..I promise" Shivaay said emotionally.
Even Anika got emotional but tried to make the atmosphere normal again by saying, "Okay so, this box will be the messenger between you and me..hmm", picking up the box in her hand. "So lets experiment it, I will say something in this box and lets see it will reach you or not" and said "I wish you all the happiness you deserve Shivaay" she said to the box in her heart. And felt two warm arms wrapped around her and Shivaay nuzzling her neck saying" Anika sometimes you should ask about your happiness and not mine" and that sentence, left her stunned. Turing herself in his arms she was going to ask when Shivaay said, "No need to ask how i know it...i know it because i know you my love", he said smiling.

"Shivaay you promised me to love me whole of your life and only being mine forever and being beside me forever, I also promise you that i will always love you and will be yours forever even after my death...i will be yours and only yours...I promise", Anika said being emotional. They hugged each other tightly, smiling, contented to have one another.
END OF FLASHBACK
"I promise", and she broke out of her trance hearing that young boy and girl's laugh and realized her eyes were full of tears. "You broke your promise Shivaay but i will never break my promise...i will be your's forever even after my death" she murmured taking a decision and left.
Here Shivaay's condition was not good, he was trying and trying to forget her but with each passing time it felt as if she becoming an more deeper and deeper and deepest part of his. His heart was beating but his breaths was not his but hers. Mallika was with him all the time but he was not as much as interested in her anymore and actually realized that with whom actually he is meant to be with, he left her alone breaking his promise and just ran behind a girl who was nothing to him but just an infatuation. He actually and finally realized what grave mistake he did by breaking that innocent girl's heart who was his heartbeat, he decided to correct his mistake before it's too late and told Mallika everything about his feeling though she felt bad but it was for good and she left for good. And Shivaay decided to propose his real love of the life tomorrow as she will be coming tonight though he wanted to propose her tonight but he wanted to do something special for her as he has hurted her gravely.

The next day, he went to her house smiling, happily only to greet by the crowd in front of her house, his mind started working and he felt shivers ran down his spine as he began to feel suffocating. He ran to her door pushing the crowd, pushing that slight tremor aside in his being. He entered the house and was greeted with the site that made him die millions and millions times for his mistakes, the site of his love lying lifelessly on the floor in front of him with poison in her one hand and that box which he gifted in her other hand.
The officers around salute him, recognizing the Great businessman, Shivaay Singh Oberoi, as he moved blankly and lifelessly towards her and slide down beside her taking her hand in his trying to feel the warmth, he always felt but alas, he was actually late very late, as she left him alone, the punishment he very much deserve he knows and a tear slipped from his eyes. His eyes fell on the box she was holding and with trembling hands he took hold of that box and was just staring at it and suddenly he felt the need to open the box and with cracked and dry voice he said "SHIVIKA" and closed his eyes, his voiced cracked more, he lost, lost everything because of his stupid mistake, he lost his life.

The box open and the room was filled with music, their music, his heart burnt with agony for losing her. He opened his eyes and his eyes fell upon a letter which was lying in
the box. He picked the letter and opened it with shaking hand and trembling breath and read..
Dear Shivaay,(a painful tear rolled down his eyes as he continued reading the letter)
I know, I know you must be angry on me for leaving you so suddenly like this...I mean even i never thought that I will ever do this but alas it's not like what we decide is tend to happen always..anyways I was telling that i know you must be angry but i seriously didn't know what to do with this life without you, You must be knowing till know that i love you... I lied to you that day that it was friendship but I cant lie to myself that it was not love..I tried..I tried so much to forget you but i cant, infact the more i tried the more I fell for you but I know i don't deserve you, you are smart and handsome and me, I am the ugly, nerdy small town girl..but though I know that i don't deserve you, i fell for you.. i used to dream secretly that one day you and me will be together and will have an fairy tale life but how can i forget that every fairy tale does not have happy endings how stupid of me..hahaha.. i tried, i really tried very hard but cant fall out of love with you but instead fell in love with you again... your smile, your laugh, your happiness always matters to me Shivaay, remember that so don't you dare to be guilty about this death of mine... It was my decision and the consequences is also mine...so no guilt and be happy with your Mallika...Mallika...Your Mallika...how good it would have sound if it would have been Your Anika...but its not in my luck...you know if i had not done this i would surely have done something which would have brought pain to your's and Mallika's relation and when i realized it, i decided that i will not be selfish, i will not do something to snatch your happiness for mine...I love you and will always...you remembered you promised me to love me and be mine whole your life but you broke it.. but i am not angry infact happy that you broke it because it was binding you to me forcefully which i didn't wanted but remember i promised you that i will be your's whole my life and even after death..i will never break it..no...never see i fulfilled it...i was yours in this life and i will be your's after my death also...just be happy i will always be beside you whenever you will need me i promise...Ohh yes and have a very happy married life with your Mallika...be happy..stay happy..because that's what i want for you and because that's why I'm leaving...but will be by your side whenever you will call me...just don't cry over me and go for your happiness..just grab it before its too late...I love you Shivaay...love you soo much...just don't cry over me..for my love..no ..not for my love..for our friendship...byee...take care and don't miss me...

But now everything was over, he was too late to realize his mistake and fate was too cruel with his punishment. But it is said when one story gets over from there another story begins..so maybe not this time but next time, in next birth they will meet and again their new love story will began with new twist but they will meet again for sure...because sometimes true love may tend to bow down in front of destiny but true love never accepts defeat, it will fight again and again with fate till love finally wins over the cruel fate and make the two lovers one.
