Hello everyone,

I'm Sapna and I haven't spoken on this forum before but now I feel obligated to.

Sorry in advance if this turns out to be a long rant and also sorry if something I say hurts someone (that is not my intention at all).

As you can probably tell from the title, I'm really disappointed, I am disappointed by the way this show as a whole is shaping up. I've used to watch Jhalak since I was quite young, since like the first season. But the past two seasons have been a bit disappointing. Jhalak was meant to be a show non-dancers and as far as I can see, most of the contestants who are left have been trained in dancing in some way or another. And as of today, most of the contestants who were eliminated are non-dancers.

Sid and Helly were both eliminated today and I am so upset. Not only because they were my only two favourite contestants on the show, but because I don't think they deserved it. Sid gave up his show for Jhalak and Helly had to juggle both Jhalak and Swaragini. I don't think they've received the credit they deserve.

Anyways back to my point. In the last season Faisal won, he was a brilliant dancer and totally deserved it, but other finalists like Sanaya and Mohit were non dancers and I think it's so unfair that they were put against each other. And the same thing is happening this season. If you put non dancers against dancers of course the dancers are going to do better than the non dancers. And Jhalak was created to highlight the journey of a non dancer as they become a dancer and NOT to show the journey of someone who is already a dancer compete with some weaker and some equal counterparts and then emerge victorious. That's basically like putting a young child against a scientist in a science competition. It's kind of obvious who's going to win. If you put dancers against dancers and non dancers against non dancers, then it makes much more sense. I seriously think the producers of this show should review the format because it's totally unfair.

I don't think I'm going to be watching Jhalak anymore, but if I do I'm definitely going to be rooting for either Arjun or Shakti who are non dancers.

I am sorry but where is it written that a dancer cannot compete in this show and it is only the journey of a non-dancer to becoming a good dancer? WHERE? Neither is it written in the format of the original show Strictly Come Dancing from where Jhalak Dikhla Jaa is taken nor in the format of JDJ itself. Don't believe me? Then go and check Wikipedia. Moreover, it is not the dancer's fault like Faisal, Shantanu, etc that they are both excellent dancers as well as actors. If the celebrities cannot dance then better not come to this show and make a fool out of themselves. This is strictly a dance show and you have to be the best to win it and if you are not, then take the training from the best dance institution and then join this show or else chup chap compete with multi-talented celebs like Faisal, Shantanu without cribbing.
