OS: BABA, TUMI IMPOSSIBLE NAA!!
On a fine Sunday morning, when Sonakshi had a plan to visit her parents' home, she had apprehensively handed over her son's responsibilities in her Husband; Dev's hands. Been explained to relax, Sonakshi had decided to sit back with her parents, and let Dev and the family take care of her little three years old son, Devaansh, whom they in short called- "Ansh"

"Dev, beta tera Naashta banwa doon Bhola se kehke... Tu uth gaya hai..." Ishwari had asked her son Dev, who in a completely relaxed mood came out to have his lukewarm water, the first thing in the morning...
"Nahi maa... Abhi nahi... Ek coffee and some biscuits would do... Ansh ke room mein bhijwa deejiye... Mujhe thodi files read karni hai, wo bhi kar lunga... Phir Ansh uthega toh usko bhi dekhna hoga na... Sona nahi hai toh wo phir kisi ke haath aayega bhi nahi..." Dev had explained about his toddler, who for now was peacefully sleeping... Ishwari had laughed thinking about her little grandson, who was nothing short of being a replica of his own father. Sending Dev away and instructing Bhola to make coffee for Dev, Ishwari busied herself in other works...

Dev was lying in a reclined position on Ansh's bed, reading his files, while his son lay sleeping peacefully amidst the dimmer lights of the bright morning that came through from the curtains of the windows. Ansh stirred in his sleep and finally opened his eyes to see his father lying next to him... Dev turned his face towards his son sensing him awake, and gave a huge- bright smile to him, that the little boy who was rubbing his eyes crawled and shifted towards his father, and finally climbed over Dev, and laid on his stomach over Dev, his baby-head resting on his father's chest, and the rest of the body reached below Dev's stomach. Ansh yawned... closed his eyes again, and laid there peacefully over his father... Dev, had kept his files aside, and hugged his little baby to himself, while the toddler took another short nap, and yawned yet again...
Dev smiled looking down at Ansh, and softly ruffled his son's trimmed hair... Waking him to awareness, he said- "Good morning Ansh! Aur kitni deir soney ka iraada hai beta... Dekho sab uth gaye... Daadi made breakfast for you... Khaana nahin hai?"... Dev was waking his son out of his laziness... Ansh opened his eyes, and slowly he was mentally awakened... Suddenly he realized, it's his father waking him up, and not his mother. He would every day crawl into his mother's lap, and she eventually made him stand on his feet, but, today he crawled over his father, and he was not put on ground, instead being ruffled out of sleep...
That brought the thought to the boy as he immediately asked sitting up on his father's stomach- "Mumma kahan hain?" ... Dev sat up, holding Ansh, making him sit on his thighs, as he told- "Mumma naani ke ghar gayi hain..."
Devaansh immediately corrected his father- "Arre Naani nahin Mr. Dixit; DidiMaa...".. Dev gave a small pat on her son's head- "Achha! Ab papa ko Mr. Dixit bulaaoge?"...
Devaansh giggled- "Mumma lekin aapko Mr. Dixit bulaati hain na kabhi-kabhi?"... Dev pulled at his son's ear softly- "Mumma kuch bhi bulaayein, but you will call me papa only..."
"Sorry-sorry... Okay! Papa only!" Ansh quickly apologised, before he angers his father... Dev smiled at him and pulled him down- "Chalo, brush your teeth, and let's help you to have a bath... Then we will have some breakfast...

Ishwari limped and ran towards Devaansh's room, hearing him wailing- "Wasn't Dev with Ansh or what? Why is he crying so much... Did he fall down somewhere?" Ishwari thought to herself, as she reached in the room. She could hear Ansh crying and Dev admonishing him from the bathroom... What is wrong with him... She went inside to see Dev, half wet scrubbing the baby hard in the bath tub, admonishing him to get so dirty... And that was why he was crying so hard, since he was habitual to be bathed softly by his mother, and today his father was being rough with him...
"Dev! Ye kya kar raha hai beta?" Ishwari was astounded...
"Nehla raha hoon Ansh ko, aur kya?" Dev answered the obvious.
"Haan, wo toh dikh raha hai beta, par, itni zor-zor se ragad ke? Bachha hai wo, kitni komal skin hoti hai bachhon ki... aise thodi na karte hain..." Ishwari explained...
"Toh aur kaise karte hain..." Dev asked confused...
"Tu jaa, jaake kapde change kar... Main nehla deti hoon isey... Jaa tu Dev..." Ishwari took a stool and sat by the bath tub, and started bathing her grandson, while Dev left shrugging his shoulder...

"Ansh... Ansh... Sunn toh beta... Tera favourite paratha banaaya hai daadi ne..." Riya was running after Ansh with a plate in hand to give him the first morsel of his breakfast... But he just wasn't eating...
"Achha ye le lo... Chocolate milk... Jaisa mumma banaati hain tumhari... Ye pee lo..." Nikki came with a glass of milk... But Devaansh was just dodging both his buaas and giving them both a tough time...
"Rehne do usko Riya aur Nikki... Tum dono Naashta kar lo... Jab bhook lagegi, kha lega..." Dev called back both his sisters... Both Riya and Nikki came back to the table and kept the plate and glass resigning... "Maa, Bhaiyya bhi aapko aise hi bhagaate rehte they kya roz?" Riya had asked Ishwari...
"Arre, bilkul! Ye Ansh toh phir bhi Sonakshi ke haath aa jaata hai... Dev! Baap re... Bohot daudaata tha purey ghar mein..." Ishwari laughed while she picked a memory from the older days...
"Hats off maa... Aapko bhi aur Bhabhi ko bhi, jo itne chanchal bete paal liye!" Nikki sat down on the chair while she spoke...
Ishwari pulled Nikki's ear gently as she said- "Tu bhi kuch kam nahi thi Nikki... Teri Neha di se pooch zara kitna pareshaan karti thi usko..."
All at the table laughed, and began with the breakfast, enjoying what all was cooked... Dev purposefully took the plate that was meant for Ansh, and began eating from it, while Ansh kept on riding on his scooter all around the hall... It was a few minutes later, Dev felt something near his leg, and realised Ansh coming up from under the table, and had his eyes scrunched up, thinking if he wasn't able to see, nobody else could as well, his hands darted towards his plate... Dev had already broken a small morsel for him, seeing what may come next... Ansh took that morsel himself and ate it... The scene was witnessed by all... They all wanted to laugh at Ansh's innocence, but Dev gestured them not to, and gave his son the space to stand between him and the table and eat from his plate... Once he had eaten one morsel, did Ansh open his eyes and looked at his father, who gave him an encouraging smile.
Ansh took the plate in his hand and gave it to his father quietly... Dev took the cue and asked- "Papa ke haath se khaaoge?"... The little boy nodded immediately... He climbed over his father's lap, as if it was some throne, and began eating from his father's hand. Completed his paratha, as well as the glass of milk; that seemed a herculean task for everyone a few minutes back.

Devaansh had brought a story book from his small table and had given it to his father to read it for him...
"Ansh, beta this is meant for bed time... Mumma aapko sunaati hain na every night... Abhi toh dopahar ho rahi hai..." Dev explained to his son...
"But, I want to listen to it now... Please papa... Aap sunaao na... Please?" Ansh so cutely cajoled his father, and pouted so like his mother, that even if Dev would have been in his worst mood, he would have melted within seconds...
"Achha ok! Chalo bataao... Kaun si sunoge..." Dev had opened the book...
"Mumma wali..." Devaansh pointed at the picture of the story of the race of the hare and the tortoise...
"Oye! Tumhari mumma ko pata chal gaya na ki you have again begun with calling her khargosh, toh iss baar hum dono ki pitaai hogi..." Dev had patted his son on his bum for again calling his mother a khargosh... "And, you know Ansh, it is bad... Mumma is only mumma for you... Beta, don't call her with any other names... Okay? Like my good boy?" Dev brought forward his thumb to Ansh that he was supposed to touch with his thumb in a silent promise that both the father-son did... Ansh connected his thumb with his father's thumb in the silent promise...
Dev opened the book, and began reading the story... Two lines he had read, and Ansh interrupted- "Theek se sunaaiye na papa..."
Dev looked up from the book- "Toh aur kaise read karoon..?"
"Arre... story sunane jaise... Jaise mumma sunaati hai... Aapne kabhi story nahi suni kya dadi se... Waise sunaaiye..." Ansh explained
"Mujhe nahi aata..." Dev got upset as he sat at the edge of the bed, since they never got time to lie down and hear fairy tales; he did not know how to read a story to his toddler... "Tumhari mumma theek kehti hain... I am just so impossible!" Dev sat dejected...
Ansh stood up on the bed, and hugged his father's neck from behind as he spoke- "Baba, Tumi impossible naa... You are just perfect!!!" - You are not impossible, papa.
Dev suddenly looked up from his sullen state, and pulled his son on his lap- "Kisse seekhi Bengali?"
"Elena Maashi ne sikhaaya..." Ansh told the truth...
"WAAH!" both Dev and Ansh looked up at the door, to see Sonakshi leaning against the door listening to both the father and son... "Main Hindi sikha-sikha ke marr rahi hoon... Par woh nahi seekhna... Maashi ne sikhaaya toh jhatt se seekh liya? Badmaash!" Sonakshi pulled at her son's nose, and looked gratefully towards her husband to have tried to take care of their son so well...
She pulled her sandals and sat down on the bed, taking the story book from Dev- "How about I read a story to both of you?" She looked particularly at Dev, silently letting him know that he has not lost his childhood. His son is a medium to relive the moments he had missed then... Listening to a story is just one of them...
