I like the way you're talking about the story and how the characters are behaving so weirdly.

I saw that people are unhappy that the writers are taking the story this way instead of discussing character motives. it's their story after all, bitter and painful for now but relatable nonetheless. people are actually weird like these characters..

They brought DevAkshi down the idyllic courtship days, sweet love and romantic promises. Then reality hit and Dev is behaving like a chastened child. Did you notice yesterday was the first time Ishwari verbalized her disagreement over his love affair with Sonakshi?

I really dont know where they are taking the story, now that Boses are up and fighting back. Things are really sour not just between them but around them. How will they get back together?

Yesterday I wrote a post (link: http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4707615) where I mentioned after Ishwari's confrontation about Dev calling Sonakshi, Dev will have left two ways -

1. Dev will come clean how he had been suffering in Sona's absence (Unlikely outcome) or

2. He will trivialize his love again by lying about its importance in his life which will lead to Ishwari searching for suitably docile, submissive, doormat girl for Dev to marry. (Most likely).

And the most likely scenario happened. Well, Ishwari hasn't looked for her new doormat yet and she won't until her grip is strong. But Dev again trivialized his love. Instead of saying to his mother that he can't live without Sona, he conveyed the message that even though he doesn't love Sonakshi but it's his responsibility to fix her life since the poor thing got hurt. I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry at the scene between Dev and Ishwari.

Here's what I was hearing the entire time.

Ishwari: Dev, why are you still playing with Sonakshi? You know she is not allowed in the playground anymore.

Dev: But mummy, even though I am not friends with her anymore, since I am reincarnation of Raja Harish Chandra, I can't let my ex-friend take a bad decision.

Ishwari: No honey. I know you are my good boy and want to rescue all needy people in the world. But you are not allowed to play with her anymore. If you do it again, you will be grounded.

Dev: Okay mummy.

Later, Dev to Sonakshi

Dev: Why did your daddy complained to my mummy? We were just playing stalker & victim game where I dump you and continue to interfere in your life behind my mummy's back while keep pretending to be an innocent little boy in front of mummy. Why did you have to make your daddy complain to my mummy? Now I am not allowed to play with you anymore.

Sonakshi and me: Are you 5 years old? Grow the eff up... If you don't, then we will drag you to your Mummy. Then just wait and watch how she grounds you for the rest of your life.

Later that night, Dev online stalking again. But had to get a break since Mummy came to emotionally blackmail.

Ishwari to Dev: Honey, I am here to emotionally blackmail you and constantly remind you that you have to wear blinders like horses that pull buggy in central park. The only person you will eat, sleep, drink and see is your Mummy. You are my Sunlight and Ujala combined. In fact I layer so much butter on you that your sisters think that they are on diet.

Dev (goggly eyed): Yes, Mummy. Consider me completely blackmailed. You know how easy it is to manipulate me using our hardship card which we are still using to play victim game. I only think about my family which of course means you because I don't give a damn if my sisters are always shortchanged by you. As long as Mummy loves me best that's all it matters. Sonakshi is nobody. In fact she is less than nobody. Now you go mummy. I need to online stalk her some more since she threatened to call you if I physically stalk her.

Ishwari: There you go, my darling baby bunny. Here's a kiss on the forehead to make you forget that you are going to die a virgin. If I am not getting any action, you aren't either. Even after I die, you can live clinging to my corpse.

Me: #Facepalm

On the other hand, Ritwik is a smart guy. He likes Sona and willing to gamble for her but he is not willing to take stupid risks with his life.

Dear Sona, let me explain something in Ritwik's style. There are three types of marriages in the world.

1. A marriage where both partners are equal in every sense. Both their opinion count in every decision like true partners. Your parents have that kind of relationship.

2. A marriage where the husband is the pillar of strength and takes care of the wife needs. Most Indian marriages are like that. If you marry Ritwik, considering how much you are still hung on Dev, you will have that marriage until you forget Dev. Then you might turn into no. 1 kind of marriage. Dev's Mama has that marriage with his wife.

3. A marriage where the husband is needy and clingy and need mothering for the rest of their life. Whoever will marry Dev will have to be that person. But that position is currently filled by Dev's Mom. So as long as she is alive, you should forget about Dev. And when she dies if Dev doesn't go crazy, you can take over the mothering responsibility.

But knowing you, you should have gone for no. 1 kind of marriage and as a last resort no. 2. Unless you have masochist tendency, you should forget about no. 3 and move the eff on and not just physically.
