What happens when these studios shutdown and the traditional PH who are mooching them have to release these movies themselves will be very interesting ...

Cannot believe bangistan was bought for 35 crores 😲

That still happens. Many small producers or even small films of big producers are released by themselves. Like KJo released Bahubali himself. YRF, SRK release their own films. I think what might happen is a level playing field will be created for smaller producers. Now they fight for screens by clubbing 2-3 films together and a smaller producer loses out.
And yes star prices will come down especially of new stars and those who arent doing well at the BO.

Interesting and revelatory article!
Explains a lot of the ghapla going on in the business and why all the studios are shutting shop in BW.

Are the studio execs doing this deliberately? Is it some sort of scam to show losses? 😕 Or is it because of their plain ignorance abt movie content as the article states?

Did Eros also shut shop in BW?

There are lots of relevant points but the main thing is that "bollywood is a family business"

actors will work for far less (sometimes even free when faced with career problems) with filmy people who know not to pay stupid amounts. But they will suddenly hike up the prices when working for studios. The studios don't even know the correct market rate of the actors/directors bec it is all a secret. Huge amounts are revealed to press just to pressurise the next ullu to pay that insane money.

main point is that all the filmy families and insiders are scamming the studios who don't have a clue of how it works. bec all info is confidential

also if any actor gives trouble to any filmy-family wala production house, next thing you know they are blacklisted by the industry bec "contacts"

but studios ko toh poora bewakoof bana lo
