Well technically the doctor would not know how long she was exposed to the chemicals and that would mean he could have thought that she inhaled the fumes for a prolonged period of time. That could lead to a coma, brain death or even death! These situations arise during fires especially when there is incomplete combustion leading to carbon monoxide that dissolves in blood faster than oxygen.
There have been cases of people dying just because they left a candle lit in their rooms while keeping the windows closed!On second thoughts I don't know why I am trying to justify this doctor who did not even appear onscreen. He may as well be a loon!😆
