ARCH,
I wonder why I missed your post... I have read through most of the replies and couple of poinst...
Loved the mirror you showed all of us on Sona keeping her promise... I also thought she was also one to only talk and its easy to talk romantic things when in love.. But yes this act of hers to ensure Dev is okay, that Ishwari knows Dev's true condition. She knows Dev would never tell Ishwari the true reason for breakup.
Glad she showed them the mirror. Thanks for highlighting this so beautifully.
"I just felt her walking up to Dev and calling him out on many things wrong was her way of 'tough love'... 'We cant be together but I need to see you fine. I cant be with you so you need to grow up and be strong... If you spiral out of control, I can never stay happy'
Push him to the wall and trust him enough that he will find a way out... or at least wake up...!
"
She also knows there is no one there to help him.. Dev has to fend for himself... He has to take care of himself. She wants to move on... so desperately to prove to Dev and Ishwari that they cannot control her life, but she knows it will shatter Dev... He might be down and broken when he broke up with her... But her moving on... She knows the impact it will have on him.
"She can tell herself she is angry but she is hurt & helpless as she knows he's hurting and she cant do anything... so she uses reverse psychology - hurt him so much that he grabs the strength to fight for survival...
But as you correctly said - who's going to show her the mirror!!!
"
Reverse Psychology it is... Great... but yes involving another family, another guys is not a solution. I am guessing here Rit will be the one to show her the mirror. But Rit can also see she is not a stable self. Any other guys would say. Take timr get over your love, lets meet after 6 months and see if you still feel the same and then we can take the step forward...
Sona is so not ready to move on... This will be mistake... Such a big mistake... Such marriages are doomed its a recipe for disaster.
"'Dev has not grown up enough to take decisions that his mother will not like' - fantastic words to Ishwari and truth.
'Why don't you ask your Mother what you want' - Fantastic words to Dev & truth again
'I am so angry & hurt. I loved so much and was just cast aside' - Words to Ritwik and truth.
"
3 truths to 3 different people... all will impact her life. Time she told the truth to herself.
This is such an awesome post. Thank you for taking the time to read not just my post but the fantastic responses here.
It was a pleasure to read your thoughts (above) as you have taken my key points and added in your perspective.
After the episode on Friday and watching Sona do what she did, I made my usual visit to the forum. Like me, everyone was equally appreciative of the strong Sona and I also had a few nagging thoughts but first, I applauded that she kept her promise to Dev (and seeing her, she always will).
How else would you keep your promise of never leaving even when left behind than to make sure the person is ok. She did and then went a step further & backed him up (as a Son & a person in Love). Not for a second did she doubt that he did not love her and might not be hurting.
The fact that she went to Dev's house after Asha told her not to. Even when the soon-to-be in-laws were still at her place - Speaks volumes! This lady didn't leave Dev even if he left her.
After knowing that he is all alone in his struggle and no one to even acknowledge his sacrifice, she knew exactly what state he must be in. She had to confront him. She is hurt but he is lost. Her approaching him was not to get him back (she wasn't playing Ishwari's game) but to shake the little boy to grow up. Who else will take care of him but he himself, now that he has pushed her away!
She may tell herself she's acting out of anger but 'I will pray that all you say is true and Dev actually forgets me' is her truth. She just wants him to be happy and knows he's not.
Knowing this, how will this lady move on even if she tries?
She returned and cried tears of hurt on her would-be's shoulder - honestly, this lady is not even trying.
Ishwari is blind to her selfishness & Dev's pain.
Dev is blind to the fact that he can't survive without his love. You don't just throw it away.
Sona is blind to the fact that her heart is stuck and she cannot move on. I don't see her family pushing her in anyway & this is all her.
All 3 need massive mirrors, face reality and wake up.
My jury is out on Ritwik though. I don't like the fact that a third person had to be involved in the deadlock of the trio but the makers chose this to create drama. Their creative liberty!
While, Ritwik will be a good friend to Sona and act as her mirror; who will make him understand that Doctors heal, Individuals marry!
@Blue: My thoughts exactly. I feel the makers focus on one aspect of a character's personality and forget the rest.
Ishwari is insecure, selfish - so she is only that
Dev is impulsive, lost - so he is only that
Ritwik is Sona's support & Dev's desperation - so he is only that.
Sona - they have tried to highlight few more aspects of her personality and maybe she will be the first one they pull out of this mess. (Hopefully 😊)
But for now, she is making a mistake. Big one. And in her anger, she will now throw Ritwik as a challenge to Dev. While I loved the promo, I couldn't help but feel bad for Ritwik! But what can you say when someone just rushes into the mess with open eyes !!!!!!
