Shravan Malhotra: 'Translation interrupted'

So, many are wondering what is going on Shravan's mind, why is he acting the way he is, has he lost his mind? So, I couldn't help but share the theory I had on this. It was because for him their relationship was in the middle of the stage of translation which has been interrupted all of sudden.

Translation means the conversion of something from one form or medium into another. A process wherein the codes are decoded and then with the information gathered, the transformation completes.

But what happens if a translation of any kind in stopped in the midway? What happens if the translation in interrupted in the middle of the process? Before the completion of the transformation? Imagine what happens if the whole process of decoding is suddenly interrupted and there is no way to make it restart again to complete it? Can you comprehend the gravity of the situation if that is to happen? It's fatal because of it's stillness, unmoving quality. Stuck in a limbo that can last forever. That can cause an immediate destruction from within that has no duration limit.

That is what's happening within Shravan. His actions, reactions, and furious rage are because, as we have seen, his and Suman's relationship was at the stage of translation until a few days before, a conversion from friendship to more, and he better than her, was very much aware of that translation. He was living it, has welcomed by letting go of all his fears and insecurities...

But then BANG, all of sudden, the process was stopped in the midway, leaving him hanging, confused, and with no way to complete the process by himself, and to say the least, Suman started to act odd, cold and distant. There was nothing in the way she interacted with him that showed any signs of her ever feeling that translation. And because he has been the one who was more aware of that translation, endure it, welcomed it, for him their relationship can't go back to the stage it was before, and now toh he has lost all hope that it will ever reach its competition. For him, their relationship is going to be stuck there, hanging, confused by its own identity and mean in the same way, he is...
And because he felt and has been aware of the translation happening in their relationship, now when he is being denied competition of it, he is lashing out in whichever way he can think of. That emptiness he feels within is way too much for even let his ego control the situation and hide all the pain. The taunts, rage, and pain he shows her are there because he doesn't want to hide anything from her. If only his ego was controlling the situation, he would have never let her know that he was hurting.

While she feels helplessness, has given up because she has stopped fighting when Ramnath told her to. In fact, she hasn't felt the translation with the same intensity he has, all she could decode was that surety that she was loved by him, all she had to do was expecting, wishing that someday he will come around and realized that they are meant to be. For her, they weren't in translation in the same way they were for him, so she can't feel the wide, the emptiness and the confusion that Shravan is feeling...

But then, Shravan's emotion and feeling have always been complicated and complexed ones. He has always felt more, thought more, wanted more, expected more. For him, they were finally reaching somewhere he was hoping they will from past 12 years. He has always been aware of their relationship more than her. And that is why, when the translation was stopped midway, he felt heartbroken, confused and lost...

Hua kiya hai, Sumo? Kahan bighadh gaya sab? Sab kuch theek toh tha...

. . .

Dard ho raha hai?
Haan, joh tum kar rahi ho, uss se bohat daar ho raha hai...

He had struggled to run away from his feelings, from that translation and her, in his need to protect himself, he has done more damage and had let the misunderstanding take place. But then he let go of his fight, his fear and had let the translation take place, welcomed it, let himself be immersed in it and let it change him, them. And the reason why he stopped running away, tried to clear everything was because there was a surety that she cares for him, and was sincere, that no matter what, he is important for her. And that was enough for him to believe in her, them so ferociously that he ignored her actions that made it appear as if she has all of sudden stopped caring about him altogether.

Whichever be the reason, her coldness and actions have done more damage than Ramnath's words and brainwashing ever could. And in all this mess, we can't blame him for that, can we? Because he did try to find the reason of the sudden coldness and detachment she was showing, but she only kept pushing him away, by her actions and words. And in his naivety, he kept trying to tell her what he thought could repair, undo whatever was that made her act so strange towards him.

And he didn't lose hope till there was the surety between them that no matter how much they fight, they will find their way back to each other. Whatever she said in anger, he answered back lashing out, they took liberties in pushing each other away because of the knowledge that the other one will be there for them, no matter what. He was absolutely sure that she was his and that they may have fights, but both were meant to be, that they were for Ek Duje ke vaste.

But as the time passed, Ramnath's words and Suman's action broke that trust, that surety and confidence brick by brick. Ironic how they both are the only people that love Shravan and are loved by him ferociously. But he still did fight back, tried to ignore his words as he ignored her actions, but his father and Suman turned out to be such an amazing team, so well coordinated that they managed to make him feel hopeless and defeated. And in their claim to prove their love, they have destroyed the most vital part of him...

One can still wonder why he is so angry for Suman letting Aditya help her? Well, that is because helping her has always been only his right and he took pride in being the only person she ever asked for help. No matter how he time to time makes her feel guilty for using him, he took pride in being the one who always had that right. Especially because she actually has never let anyone help her but him. But when she picked Aditya over Shravan for the help needed, she shook the very foundation of all his being, his belief, and trust in her and himself.

God, kitne akar se, gharoor se he gave Aditya PCT's papers, thought that 'Aditya toh gaya aaj,' and that arrogant smirk because he thought he knew her better than anyone. Ha, his Sumo and letting anyone help her? Impossible. Aur woh bhi Aditya? When she denied even his, Shravan's help? Even when it's his right to help her, she didn't let him, then Aditya toh is only someone she knows from a week or so...There was no way, no reason for him to not be absolutely sure that the outcome will be as he predicted it to be. And when it wasn't, he was shattered, devastated, to say the least.

Suman letting Aditya help her but not him hit him hard, because her doing that not only meant she is choosing Aditya over him but also meant that he was wrong in thinking that if she ever wanted to take someone's help, he would be the first, the one and only she will let have that right. But not only that, with the way she was acting, she was becoming unpredictable for him, but that was the one thing about her that he thought he could predict blindly. No matter how strange she was behaving, that was the one thing he was absolutely sure of...

Her doing that snatch away that akhar and ghaoor he had, left him feeling devastated because that one act of hers shook his whole perception of her. His surety wasn't something based on the observations he made or something he assumed, but something he knew about her, something she had countless times proved and said by refusing his help. He couldn't process why and what happened...Why she took someone's help and that too Aditya's, when he was there when he had offered first and countless times?

And no matter how much I try to justify her actions from past few weeks, her act won't have done such a fatal damage if she wasn't so cold and rude to him during these days. If it wasn't for that, he would have asked her reasons, had a huge fight over it with her. And then he may have taken some time, but after that, he would have let it go and ignore it. And we also can't deny that if she would have told him where he was going wrong in his attempt of helping her, understanding her, as she had done the last time, this all won't have happened. Why he needed her help in that? Because he DOESN'T know what is going on her mind or what happened between her and Ramnath.

But I think her fault was that Suman couldn't ignore nor she could separate Shravan from Ramnath. She could have, should have, but she couldn't. And the most irritating thing is that she couldn't even understand the damage because by doing so, she only kept pushed Shravan away from her. Try as I might to not take sides, to not blame her more than him, I can't help but find her wrong only this phase, which had done more damage than anything else.

But still, despite claiming that she didn't matter, that their relationship has ended, no matter what happened, there was a part of him that was sure that they will find a way to forgive and forget all of it as they have done times before. But the happening of Aditya-Suman marriage took away even that surety. Now he is left with nothing, everything is lost.

For him, their relationship would be forever stuck in a stage of translation that will never see the completion of its transformation into something he had been craving for years. He is left hanging there in thin air...

And because of that, he can never go back to be the Shravan he was before, only friend, nor he can move forward. He also can't help but feel wronged - no matter if the translation of their relationship was not completed - he can't pretend as if there was anything between them nor he wants to hide his pain from her. In fact, he shows her that, tells her all about it, let's his anger out. It doesn't matter if they had never confessed, doesn't matter if technically she doesn't own him any loyalty, he can't help but feel as if she wronged him because he has felt her by his side during the phase when the translation in their relationship was taking place beautifully. She may not have confessed it, but he knows he wasn't the only one feeling all those changes and that her actions and reactions until few days before still proved that she has felt something too.

But now she, her actions are denying it altogether, pretending that it never happened. So he questions himself, was she leading him on? Was she playing with him? Again? Why has she done what she has done? And the only way he has found to deal with the situation is to lash back, to face it by fighting whomever and whichever thing comes in his way...

So, the cause of all that confusion, anger, insanely behavior, furious rage, endless pain, and destruction is the sudden interruption in the translation that was happening in their relationship. He feels trapped in a stage which has no turning point and has no way to move forward, nothing can be done but live with the feel of being stuck in the darkness. That sense of being trapped, the knowledge if losing something dear and the emptiness that accompanies that knowledge is what's making him lash out, question everything, feeling as if all of sudden everything in the universe doesn't make any sense, at all...

No one, not even him can understand what is he doing, or what is that he wants. Is he doing all that because it's his way to having a closure? Is he planning to do what he thinks and claims of doing? Or if there in thought, an unconscious attempt to claim back what/who is his in the name of payback or revenge?

But one thing is sure, there are limits that even the supposed brand-new badass Shravan Malhotra can't cross - Nanu's health and his well-being - no matter what he couldn't/wouldn't do anything that can hurt Nanu. So, I don't have much expectation from him, because no matter how he claims to be a badass, he is at the end of the day the same gentle giant who won't mess things up for a selfish reason such as revenge.

Even Chachi is all talk, no action. She doesn't have a shatir brain fo a Vamp. Doesn't matter how much she wants to be one she can't even be classified as a Vamp because Ramnath took away that tag ages ago. And as it is, she has no cards on her and if there is a card, she doesn't know how to play it well. So, Aditya HAS to be the one who can do something, anything to stop this marriage.

He will turn evil or not, to us that matters not, right? At the moment I think he is pretending that the marriage is happening only to see till when both Suman and Shravan can go on denying that there isn't something between them. He is testing their limits, push them to get a reaction out of them. His intentions aren't all good, I just feel that there is an aroura around him that gives off gray vibes. Well, not negative for us even if he is going to become one because the end justifies the means in his case. As long as he does something that makes Shravan lash out in the way we want to or snaps Suman out of her 'going with the flow' passivity, I am all game.

I just hope the Cvs won't mess up with the characterization of Shraman and come up with something amazing...*fingercrossed*

Not usually active on this forum but this analysis of the flaws of Shriven and Sumo separating the for the first time is so apt that I had to comment.
I think the transition and the hanging in middle of a relationship that never started but maybe could've has not just damaged Shravan's heart and his faith in what he knows about people he loves but has also really really damaged his ability to separate logical reasoning. I'm in awe of how Shravan and Sumo's character has transitioned throughout and the monologue of Sumo addressing her mother really cleared things out for the audience.

Ah!
Look who is here!😳 So many old friends I stumble up on this forum.

Lovely write up...and Yes, the feelings are more passionate from Shravan's side..that is why his reactions are so extreme and hurtful...to the scale they shock Suman into thinking too that his dad was right about how shallow his feelings for her would turn out to be.

Problem with Suman is...SHE IS NOT A FIGHTER anymore...she gave up too easily...and that would not have happened, but for Nanu...

But somewhere..Shravan should also have asked himself why she was acting out of character instead of branding her unfaithful and ungrateful.

And Suman should have wondered what made her gentle friend behave so violently, instead of taking his words at their face value.

I am not an active member on this forums either. More like a silent stalker, always present. But I just couldn't get these out of my mind it I wrote them down...

Btw, that's a huge compliment, thank you! 😳

@Bold:- Word. I agree...Funny how he has lost his ability to reason and rationalize things when it was/is most needed. But I guess that happened when you are 'bloody shocked' and hurt. And especially when the person you most trust has told you this would happen but you ignored. (i.e His father, Ramnath.)

But more than anything, it's because Shravan is a cynic. In these cases, They go 'I knew it,' and their minds go 'See, I told you this would happen,'. With him, trust was an issue since the start, but during this time, he came over his fears, trusted her, just to be proved wrong again. I know she isn't at fault, but that doesn't mean he isn't hurting so badly!

I know, right? I guess, we just have to wait to see how Cvs are planning to surprise us. 😳

Haha, you would have found out that before if you have just looked at the ' likes ' on your topics! 😆

But yes, I guess now we are healed enough to given into the pull of another show. I am so glad to find you here. BTW, the show was recommended to me by an ex and fellow stalker of your topic. Guess, who? 😉

Coming from you, that's a huge... Thank you! 🤗

@Italic:-Word. So true!

@Bold:-I know, Nanu is the reason why she felt helpless, couldn't do anything but just give in. But the truth, and the biggest problem is that she stopped fighting before that, didn't she? She said this and that to Ramu Kaka, but she didn't fight back as she claimed that she would. I mean, why would you start pushing the person you love away by your actions and words when you claim that you are just waiting for them to confess their love? That doesn't make sense. Her actions didn't make sense...

True that, they both are at fault, and they both should have dealt with this situation better. As we have always seen, communication problems create a mess, don't they? The sec they stopped communicating, the misunderstanding started taking place between them ... But, alas, the kids never learn from their past mistakes, do they?
