It is horrible, very horrible. So I understand the rules. Strict action is a very welcome action IMO, I don't approve total ban but strict, very strict rules and regulations is a must. As lets not forget third world countries always exploit things which involves emotion. Plus as other pointed out, if child is abnormal, it basically gets abandoned. Aside, Sushma Swarag is an idiot, so lets ignore her, concentrate on the more important part of this rule, stopping exploitation of poor woman.

why dnt those want surrogacy even when they have 2 children convince their any relative for this ? as some one quoted in this thread some women willingly became surrogacy mother 😉

One of my husband's cousin has adopted two kids from India...and it took almost two years and innumerable amount of paper work before it was finalized...there were letters of recommendations, financial statements and what not...which is all good...because they are making sure that the child is being adopted for genuine reasons and will not be used as a slave which shamefully some families have done...adopted a child and brought them over to USA and used them as servants🤢...so what was the solution...ban adoption or tighten the rules...people are forgetting that adopting a child can also be done for different reasons and not because they genuinely want a kid...there are risks everywhere...the people who want to break the laws will do it anyways...like they do...so why ban surrogacy...why not make the laws more strict...more scrutiny be done...a permission to be required before surrogacy is initiated...a background check of the family...a constant vigil on the condition of the mother ...and finally if anyone defaults...criminal charges for them...jail time...there is a way to do everything...just taking the easy way out to BAN just because u can't control it is wrong.

I am interested in adoption --- so remember reading all the requirements ----- It usually costs couple of grands to adopt --- if I remember correctly around 20,000 usd or more as fees per kid---? did i get it right--- ? For surrogacy in india they should have similar guidelines as adoption ---- background check, housing visits, availability of funding etc ---- banning isn't a solution at all ---- It will only encourage black market of surrogacy & exploitation which gov wants to stop ---- but then what more to expect from Bjp --- they need to sort out their priorities ---- implementing appropriate rules & regulations is the only solution than ouright banning anything which goes against ones choice --!!!!

true !!

one of my cousin ,who lives in india opted for adopting for some reasons ..the couple submitted the form in some govt agency but the agency put them hold for 2 years and said they get their turn only after 2 years

this process not only financially but mentally drains u equally !!SIGH

If they want to have a 3rd, 4th , 5th child is their own personal matter...why should anyone even ask them about this...what happened to a citizen's privacy and rights to their own life...

Regarding specifically Gauri Khan...she had almost died during the child birth...and maybe the doctors advised her not to go for another pregnancy...that is why they wanted a baby through surrogacy...but that is not the point...the point is that to which level the govt is going to interfere in people's lives.
