To be honest , Dev is very complicated character,

He's the person who brutally annihilated Sona's career to make sure his mother gets best nutritionist in Delhi.

And treated her so badly n shuted at her when Ishwari fell ill , where there was no fault of Sona , n he didn't allow her to even give an explain. Typical Dev Dixit.

Same happened when NIkki landed into trouble in a girl's night out due to her own immaturity n Dev was mad at Sona...

Plus the way he broke her phone was totally unacceptable.

But he's same person who tolerated a bunch of pain in the ass kids to secure sugar free cake for Sona's mom n went personally to deliver it becoz it was his fault the first cake got destroyed.

he himself went to Sona's house , apologized n made her take the phone . It was adorable.

He is making sure the poor employees like guards etc. can pay the bill for their daughter's marriage , we've seen several in occasions example of this, including his driver , Tina, and the retired employee who came to thank Dev in presence of Sona's father.

And when Sona's accident happened , he was besides himself in worry ( though I highly suspect the Tube light Dixit has already fallen in love with her by that time n just didn't realize that. )

He shouted n was really rude with Tina , he bullied Sona's new boss using his own power.

But he's the same guy who gave a good amount of money to a very poor girl who came to sell gajra n though he couldn't buy any of that , the sad disappointed n expectant look on the girl's face triggered his kind heart.

Dev Dixit ever a great puzzle.

Before you bash him, you need to know he's also capable of extreme affection and selfless kindness.

If we wanna call him out on his mistakes we need to give him credit for his good deeds as well.

Yes he's weak , he's crazy , he's ruthless many times. But that's not all to him. He's so much more than that.

Dev Dixit ... A complicated character or should I say a layered character ?

His actions are quite a oxymoron. Sometimes outspoken, judgemental, tempestuous and recognising.

Outspoken, everything is open.. anger,confession of love. Hammer it. He is straight forward in this matter.

Judgemental, he lashed his anger at Sonakshi, without knowing the whole incident. He broke her phone, brutally.

Tempestuous, he is really emotional when comes to his family. Thanks to Ishwari, she always helps him to remember his past (sarcasm alert !). He becomes blind and forgets everything else when it comes to the happiness of his family. Remember his efforts to get Ranveer employed in his office for Neha.

Recognising, he acknowledges one's abilities always. Be it, Natasha or Sonaskshi. Remember, he offered a holiday package for people who donated blood to Sonakshi. He appreciated Tina's efforts too.

But, we have found his actions quite opposite to the above mentioned traits --

He didn't even tell his mother about his relationship.He was brave enough to call off his engagement risking his business,But he couldn't simply make his mother understand his happiness existing in this relation.

Coming to his mother's actions, he was never judgemental.😡

While he broke off with Sonakshi, he was livid. His emotions were only towards his mother.He took decision unanimously whereas the relation was mutual. Plus, all he did to help Sonakshi to recover her accident was on pure humanitarian grounds. He didn't realise when did Sona become important for him.More than his mother's nutritionist. His timing was the night before his engagement ! Such a confused soul 😆

He was utterly unprofessional,when it came to terminating Sonakshi's job for his mother. Firing her from her mother's personal nutritionist job was another one and thirdly, arguing with her new boss too ! He mixed his personal and professional life !

He respects others views, yet is always firm in his opinions. We can find instances for it when he was buying a house for an extra amount in the same locality where he lived his childhood.

"Jo bhi cheez pasand aajati hai use paane ke liye main kuch bhi kar sakta hoon"

This was what he was telling about himself to Natasha.

"Aap best hain. Yuhi nahi maine aapko paane ke liye itni mehenat ki hai, ... I mean as a nutritionist of course "

He is a man of desires. He believes in achieving things he craves for . Most important of all, he is stubborn. He was pertinacious in making Sonakshi work for him as his mother. He conveniently forgets everything when it comes to his mother. He worships his mother but not God.

He is the same man, who broke his relation with Sonakshi just in fit of emotions for his mother. Whereas, when he was asked to take advantage of Gujral's allegations and Natasha not supporting her father, he chose not to comment as he respected Natasha. Much professional right ? 😕 (Consider my above statement)

Studying his character traits, we find that his personality has been shaped by turn of events always. He acts without even thinking sometimes, but when he realises it, he repents, acts back, makes sure that he makes up the mistake. But there must be someone who must give their piece of mind to him. Be it Ishwari, Mama or Sonakshi. Verbatim.

To err is human, and no human is perfect ! We fall before we start walking. Dev would definitely in a course of time, refine himself.

My sincere advice to Dev would be --

"One of the most critical decisions made in life is choosing with whom to spend your time. For it is those close relationships that gradually mold our character until we become a reflection of the company we keep."

Exactly 👏 👏. He makes mistakes like any normal human and after that he rectifyies too. Love him, hate him, understand him, or not understand him but you can't ignore him . He may not be perfect life partner for any girl, he may not be perfect son but he loves his family and go extreme lengths to make them happy. Mr dev dixit one of his own kind ❤️ ⭐️.

Very well said... I agree with you on this.

First of all we need to accept him as a normal human being. He'll make mistakes... He's not perfect... He is stronger infront of others. But vulnerable and weak when alone. He's broken from inside and now he may do things which are not right.

That doesn't make him bad. Though you'll get angry at him. But the phase he is going through cannot be ignored.

Yes he's weak , he's crazy , he's ruthless many times. But that's not all to him. He's so much more than that.

A thug probably is very kind to his family but that doesnt make him a complicated person. Just selfish.

A person who bullies others (first Sona and now her Boss) is still a bully at heart because that's his typical reaction when he doesnt like things not going his way.

We all have good and bad traits. A good person very rarely shows bad traits. Dev does it quite frequently.

Thank you Anna. Yes he is much more than what meets the eye. First encounter with him his ruthless nature always make people to misunderstand him. Sona and her father both changed their view about him after they got to know him. I love the scene where Dev's teacher disclosed his past to Sona. It was a poignant scene because the teacher was really proud of his achievements and Dev was only one of his many students. Sona herself said once it was not his intentions but the method that was wrong. Love reading your posts.

Dev Dixit is complicated but He has a pure soul in the core. He is extremely vulnerable one moment and extremely rigid the other.

He can be rude to the extremes. . But he doesn't think a moment before apologizing if he feels like it.

He wants to be away from Sona and he is the one who gets tears of happiness when he just looks at her. . talking to him.

All the contrasts you pointed out are beautiful.

I am so glad to see this post, specially because you made it.😳 That even someone so strongly opinioned about Dev doing wrong to Sona, could see through what Dev really is. He is definitely not one dimensional.

Whenever Dev is in a tight spot, he ends up taking impulsive actions n wrong decisions. And once he regrets his mistake, he never loses anytime to rectify it. Thats why even though Sona first felt attracted towards Dev during the dance seq, she actually fell in love after the accident after gradually seeing the caring, sensitive side of Dev.

And going by his nature, he again took an impulsive decision to breakup with Sona. Though I was expecting breakup scene to be mutual, cordial n lot of crying n understanding. But breakup happened in Aubhodro style...hurtful, accusatory, guilt ridden, angry. Then I thought maybe he will realise his method was wrong n apologise for not considering Sona's feelings n Sona wud also understand his reason n both will mutually agree to.part ways. But he is still thinking abt his feelings only, he hasnt even thought how difficult it is for Sona. Waiting for the moment when he will feel sorry n apologise to Sona.

Dev is shown just as any normal guy and this is exactly why I love this show

True when Dev wanted Sona to work for him as his mother's nutritious he did everything to make that happen, a devoted son indeed .

Now he learns that Sona's boss was rude with she is still the love of his life , yes he may get angry with her but certainly he will not stand to see someone been rude to her , he broke their relation but he still loves her .

Every action of Dev is real and I like that he is shown doing blunders making mistakes

Dev's character is one that I can easily relate to .
